What Is The Daddy Of All Chains? I.e. Strongest
Carlperkins replied to Andeee's topic in Trials Chat
I HAVE THE STRONGEST CHAIN IN THE WORLD!!! not sure what it is now.. i think it is a kmc k910 or something. but it ma-hoosive! if you dont mind weight but want strength, one of these is your best bet.. http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/topic/174674-sales-and-swaps-look-in-hope-brake-forks-carbon-etc/ -
my mate has a giant mph brake on his mountain bike and i think they are fooking Sheet. id rather run the onza cable.
-
hahahaha nah i wont run one on the rear, my rear tyre is good. just considering if for the front. i suppose i rode tgs mostly and the occasional bit of natty,
-
oh yeah i forgot to say i ride a 24" echo. so the tre is £32. £36 with postage. as far as i can see there is no other lightweight tyre that would be as good? i run a moto digger 2.35 at the moment which seems to be ok-ish but im looking to save some weight. so i take it its not worth buying the small block 8?

are they any good? i hear they have shockingly bad grip?

How To Smooth Down A Grind To A Smooth Rim
Carlperkins replied to Dave Sutton's topic in Trials Chat
i did this to my front wheel, used a file to get rid of the worst of it, then went from 200 grit paper all the way up to 1500 wet-n-dry, then use autosol on a drill-buffing wheel if you want a chrome rim. done.. -
i dont wanna be a dick.. but that looks like every other onza on the market? or am i missing something..

i agree that the younger generation are going mad. Ive just turned 21 so im not exactly "young", but in general i will treat people with respect unless they abuse that, then i obviously wont. I hold doors for old ladies and carry bags etc, but most old people are scared of us nowadays, due to the amount of disrespectful teens. Im not sure really hw this all relates to this forum, cos i really only use this if i need to buy/sell or need mechanical help. but i have noticed people do try to argue alot on here. i think because its a more computer-orientated generation (where people will text/email people in the same room without speaking), kids can abuse people online without having to face them, its when they take this mentality to the public and end up shouting the wrong thing to the wrong person that things are going to get messy, and they hopefully will learn from their actions. i know this because kids in my village hang outside the shops.. and i take my dear old nan down the shops to do the lottery.. and if one of the little 15 year olds shouts the common saying "suck my d*ck you old b*tch" to my nan... they will be handed a beating. haha

Avid Elixir Lever On Shimano Saint Caliper
Carlperkins replied to Laurence--Trials's topic in Trials Chat
what you have now is 2 mix and matched brakes. why wouldnt you just stick with the saint? it was nice. and waterbleed on a disc brake? c'mon laurence you work in halfords you should know this stuff.. oh no wait.. -
Thought that was shit :/ haha. Just a load of choreographed stuff, shoddily put together. Great skills all round and theyve tried being creative but dont seem to have pulled it off IMO. I liked the mid-air decade though.

How Much Is My Bike Worth? Considering Selling...
Carlperkins replied to Sam01's topic in Trials Chat
yeah its a lovely looking bike, but some parts on it are dated, and when people can buy much newer, cheaper and lighter parts for rock bottom prices its going to be hard to sell. your best bet is to put in on ebay and big it up a lot more than you should. -
yeah but not always, my echo doesn't have enough, so even if you slacken it off completely the chain still wont come off the sprocket, it would if the chain had 1 more link, but obviously you cant just add one link. therefore i have to take my crank off too. and i cant break the chain as im running a moped chain pretty much haha.
-
id say no more than 350.
-
Theres literally thousands of answers for that. Same reason people quit any sport. Starting a family, cant afford it, dont have the time. Take your pick. .
-
Id go for the tech. Tried and tested.
-
Yeah im using round tubing so im finding it difficult to try and design a proper working System. I just got some square tubing from work but its small. Ill do some thinking later and see what i can come up with.
-
wont let me view it :/. yeah im gonna do a cone shaped dropout. im looking at instead of some highly adjustabe thing where i would need to measure the hub spacing and rim width etc to figure out where the rim should be centrered, im going to have 2 solid poles acting like forks, then different adaptors so i can true front, rear 135mm and rear mod rims, and the centre point for the rim will never have to be adjusted, if that makes sence? ill let you know how i get on soon ish.
-
thankyou sir, i guessed it would be 100mm but wasnt sure.
-
ok so rear mod hubs are 116mm, rear stock hubs are 135mm... whats the measurement for all front hubs? reason for the question is that im building a wheel trueing stand and im doing some over complicated maths. cheers for any help!
-
i think it looks awesome, really nice detail in the metal, built in booster, very lightweight and nice colour. graphics arent everyones cup of tea but i like them. arent rockman frames really easy to break though?

Its a mig welder i used. And yeah its my first time welding, ive done quite a bit of soldering etc in the past, and thought welding would be really hard but it was pretty easy to be fair, they were abit uglier before i cleaned them up but im really happy at how clean they look. -
