That's the thing though, I'd look into IF still. A subsiduary just means they're underwritten really, their whole methods of banking are different, starting with they have no branches. I worked for HBOS a while back and know Halifax are shit, but IF aren't Worth looking into anyway. Customer service is totally different, rates etc are different blah blah.

Natwest give you a free young persons rail card for 5 years if you join with them, but apparently you're meant to look past the free shit lol, although thats £20 a year. I'm just going with Intelligent Finance who are a sub-siduary of The Halifax bank. They deal only online, have really good internet banking stuff, you can get Visa debit cards, easy to transfer money and stuff, and you get a good current account rate. I've had no problems banking with them in 2 years now and their phone centres are in Edinburgh and they're all really helpful scottish women haha. www.if.com for more Info I think.
