No there not... 180mm and 160mm hope trial
-
If it is just a C2 rotor then it will not be made out of different material to the rotors that come with the mono trial so it will be no stronger in that department. Also the fact it is machined out, ie less material, and therefore strength... My hope trial is fine, just don't hit your rotor, if you cant manage that (like your friends by the sound of things) then don't get a disc. Its like riding without a bash guard it you know you are going to land on your chain ring a lot... So to conclude, standard rotor is pleanty strong enough.

I must admit that hope are a very good company in that way, i had a very old hope Ti gluide rear hub which broke but was about 4 years out of its warrenty, and they just sent me a new xc, so that was nice. However, to be honest i have had a couple of annoying problems which have tarnished my views of them... Mainly, i have two problems with my mono trial disc leaking, this was due to two part having been missed out during assembly! Also my standard mini i had before that came with a leak, which is not good either.... To be honest i am quite dissapointed in these seemingly low standards, with such a well thought of company. But stil, they have made no query when i have asked them to sort these problems, and have been very fast returning fixed products, so all good really.

At the end of the day i think it is jelousy. I mean whoever complained obviously wanted Wayne to get into trouble for it... or they would of just told him to his face. I think that this un-named person just saw it happening and thought, "Oh yes, i can get him into trouble and out of the way." Yes rules are rules, but mistakes are mistakes... if anyone cheated it was the person complaining, simply because of the intent, and basis of the complaint (in my opinion any way).

Has anyone got a picture of a plasmatic coating on a rim... i am interested. is it a professional thing or what?
-
I must admit it is a very good thought... i mean a stem is approx 1/5 the length of the bars and therefore is 1/5 less likely to break (my reasoning may be a bit incorrect, but thats the idea). So it is a very good point.... why not carbon stems? Anyone who knows please post, it is an interesting point.

It does aswell... weird Could it be an old build by tarty when he was working there??

Even if it is quicker to write, it takes longer to read the replys if we are all using it. So i suppose that defeats the object, and completely flaws your argument... Sorry. So stop crying about it and accept it. Also, it is a FORUM RULE. I suppose that is the other reason people are bothered.

Personally i liked it, perferred his other videos more i think, but this one was truely amazing. I aint to bothered by the people who didnt like it or thought it was repetative or boring etc because we can't make them like everything. Its just personal choice, so i don't see why people launch into having go's at people just cos their taste is different. As for the people who don't know: Zoo! vid 26 (i think) is a complete natural riding vid from Craig with some amazing moves in it... u should check it out, he aint just a street rider "
-
Nice! just how high is that "stupidly large up" on the brick wall? it looks mega! some really nice moves, well done
-
That really is a nice bike matey.... how high is the side hop aswell.... really nice body position. How much are those frames if u dont mind me asking? :turned:"
-
No booster... Just the CNC'd yolk on his XTP :D"

I am afraid i think you are wrong... I don't think it is intentional that his brake is quiet. I know that when riding at the 2004 bike show his brake was loude! I think there just happens to be factors making his brakes quiet at random points... for example he rides a lot of natural so dust on the rim, water, grime. These would stop the brake being nice and loude. Its not that he doesnt like the brake being loude, just that he can ride without it being nessisary. At the bike show this year for example he had a problem with his brake on the saturday, and had to change something (i think) therefore his new set up meant they were not totally bedded in, and therefore no loude sound.

oh dear... There seems to be a lot of people who HATE their family members... my dad, my sister etc. I find this desturbing because hate is such a strong word. Anyway here goes 1 Not being able to get in touch with the decorator who left my room half finished 2 when my computor decides to be REALLY SLOW 3 the way my dad tries too hard to get love of me and my bro (i do love him, just he doesn't need to try and make me love him) 4 when you like someone so much and they dont like u in return 5 chavs 6 Rockports 7 people who shout crap at me for having a hobby (i.e. trials - people calling me a show off or saying, i could do that, youre crap) 8 People who hang around the square in lancaster thinking they are individual, protesting against everything they can, just to be like that. They probably don't know what they are protesting for most of the time. And they cannot seem to realise they are'nt individual cos everyone else around them is doing the same/dressed the same/looking the same etc. 9 people who blatently have a go at someone on this forum, and then give a thumbs up at the end... whats all that about? 10 people who sign every post with, "hope this helps ....." I mean do you honestly think that saying hope this helps when what you have put is, "nice bike mate. I want one" will actually make your stupid post worthwhile? 11 My room being a god awful tip which i cant be arsed to tidy. 12 the teacher at skool who favours her daughter in every way, then says how she does everything fairly. 13 Having a good ride then f**king up at the end...just seems to ruin it. 14 the frustration of persistantly bad brakes. (actually mine are ok at the mo) 15 When my brother goes away for weeks at a time (Y) 16 When tom gets in a bad mood on a ride. (we all do it, just i ride with tom most so i notice it more with him)

Isnt there something like silicon lube you are ment to lube them with? Not srue, mabe someone will put me right on that. As for the bedding in, mine has also had new pads for about that time and i couldnt make them bed in atall. Dragged them down a massive hill etc. but didnt work. So i was on the verge of ringing hope and asking why, when suddenly they started workig... really well too. In my opinion just ride with them normally till they work. None of the fancy tricks see to work for me...
-
Well sorry if you don't like my ass antics, but i like to shove it up adams bum occasionally :) Problemo??? Anyway back to the point... the trial is lighter and more on / off. Dont get me wrong however, it still has pleanty of modulation. The M4 on the other hand, slightly heavier, just as powerful (maybe more powerful) and more modulation. This is because it was designed for downhilling i believe, where an on / off disc is not nessisary.
-
Why have you only ground one side? (Y) Try grinding both sides as has been said and invest in a good pair of blocks. Also let it bed in. i.e once set up well do not faff around changing the position of it.
-
bleeding with water workrs great. i would do it if i could be bothered, but everythings ok at the mo anyway. I think its due to the water being less viscous... possibly. I cant imagine that the oil compresses.
-
You tried Tarty bikes Great shop selling great parts with great service... from a top mechanic.
-
if it is a new chain on an old chain ring it will suck.... happened to me, all you need to do is change your ring. If the chain is catching on the bash it could be a factor, but mine catches :"> and it doesnt suck on mine
-
Good point mark... i admit i don't have/want an answer for that. You are right. but surely that information could be found out from the pad reviews? Anyway, enough said from me as i can see people don't want to hear it.
-
How did i ever say that because we are paying too much for substandard products, a topic should not repeat itself? i never linked the two points in anyway. I replied to the topic in order to tell the topic starter that in my opinion he should try out the pads for himself, as this way he will get the fairest judgment of them. Thats all i wanted to say, i wasn't having a go at him... i was just offering my advice as was everyone else.
-
No-one gets their moneys worth from pads, they simply don't cost £20 to make... and anyway, its all part of the process of learning what not to use in future. Also i felt my answer was justified as it helped the topic starter realise my view, so if you do not like my view do not tell me not to post in this topic as it is my choice, and is allowed to be heard.
