When You Think Old School What Do You Think ?
boon racoon replied to BenLeacock™'s topic in Trials Chat
Radical Highs Watched that every day for about half a year, gawping at everything Akrigg and Tongue did. Anyone got any way of uploading it?! -
Working for howies in Wales for Summer then moving back up North in September mate. It's only 110mm I think it's the lens the photographer used which may make it look funny? A tad shorter might be nice though, yeah. If you want to imagine what the colour is really like, think of that manky green colour used for wash basins/sinks in bathrooms throughout the 1980's! P.S. They're Identiti forks

This has made me sick I've literally just got back from a week holiday in Portugal and we were all jumping off the roof of the Villa into the pool all week long. RIP Beau. Go careful this summer guys.

No, it is incredibly. An honest typo SORRY. sidehop (I wrote s i d then!) is the gayest thing to happen to trials in ages besides the tuck.

Think it was a wall/ledge ride - pretty high!

Wouldn't have happened if he was on pills..

Yeah true enough! I was just explaining why it's a class A really. Obviously as time has gone on and you compare the two, there is no way you can say Ecstasy is as destructive as Heroin - yet they remain in the same class! Haha a couple of my mates who DJ and run nights up in Leeds use that pic as a promotional tool! Awesome.

Most probably because it was classified after or during the rave culture of the late 80's / early 90's when its availability and use was becoming more and more widespread, and it was a fairly new drug. When it was classified back then you had a.) The panic of not fully knowing it's effects and no long term research to prove or disprove anything. Hence it was classified on the side of caution, understandably. b.) Some deaths taking place making it out to be more dangerous than it actually was. However I should imagine the majority of the deaths wern't to do with Ecstasy itself, they were to do with dehydration. Imagine the huge raves going on in warehouses, squats and such in remote parts of the country - thousands of people with no air conditioning / ventilation and probably no access to water. Dehydration is so unlikely to happen these days because of modern clubs, free access to water and people being a lot more aware. Obviously when a new drug hits the big time the government have to do all they can to minimise its effects and cover their asses until they understand it fully, but there's absolutely no reason why it should still be a class A.

How though? Obviously they are, but why have you put it like that? Because it's more harmful? Harm rating by experts.. And so we're back to the beginning of the arguement..
-
I'd be interested to hear from people who have never taken certain drugs what they think their effects actually are, how they make you react, feel, etc. Obviously the effects can differ for different people but do drug effects even come into drugs education or do most people think that taking any drug harder than weed takes you into a state similar to a man who's just had 12 pints only is more likely to rob your house for drug money?

Natwest are the best by far..as I'm finding out (currently with HSBC) They have the biggest overdrafts: (interest free of course) £1250 in Year 1, £1500 in Year 2, £1600 in Year 3, £1850 in Year 4, £2000 in Year 5 HSBC goes £1000, £1250, £1500 then stops. But the biggest ballache is that HSBC charge you interest on your overdraft as SOON as you graduate (not exactly interest but a "monthly subscription" of about £12) This is why I'm moving over to Natwest now I've graduated because they offer an interest free graduate overdraft of £2000 in Year 1, £1000 in Year 2 and £500 in Year 3 after you've graduated. So yeah, go for Natwest - the lowdown is here

I'm trying to raise some cash to spend on my holiday... Go through all your old shit and find stuff to sell. You'll be amazed the response you can get if you post on the right forums etc. Forums are far better than ebay sometimes. I sold like 8 old band t-shirts today I thought i'd never shift for £5 each..£40 ennit! This site is awesome as well - http://www.mobilephonexchange.co.uk/ Never realised I had an old phone lying around which is worth £25! Just type in all the details, they give you a freepost address, send the phone off and you get a cheque/bank transfer within 10 days. Well good!

In all honesty, who the f**k uses a femidon these days, or 5 years ago?!
-
Totally agreed. I still find it baffling that the majority of Trials-connected websites are (honestly) absolutely dire, when Trials in general is quite geeky/techy and for the most part centered around this online forum
-
That's hardly a reason to release it though. Surely it's best to take criticism onboard and look about changing it before going anywhere near the Onza.com domain?

Everything I wanted to say has been covered by Mark, Ben and James so I won't go any further. I do find it funny that those here who say they've haven't tried drugs, never will and are flat out against them seem to be the most mis-informed and closed minded. Those who have or do take drugs on the other hand appear to be able to see both sides of the arguement and know the risks involved, which is good. It seems the general public base their opinions on what they've been brainwashed into by education and the media, or by a stereotypical image of dirty skag heads who will try and rob your house for a fix.

Sqegg.co.uk. Why they'd want to publish half-finished work on their portfolio for all to see I've no idea.

If you want to see the half finished version...http://www.e-calibre.co.uk/onza/onza001.swf Don't like it myself..too confusing. But there we go.
