  1. Totally agree. A new design is allways welcomed in my eyes, just a shame you have to buy into the technology so much, as with Koxx's modstock idea and deng's bb ststem, although a BB isnt too bad to replace, especially as they are said to last longer. Its just things like if you have a nice Chris king headset, then you need to replace that with a worse headset, unless you buy a 1inch headset aswell and use 1/2 and 1/2, but once again, expensive, especially for students/youngsters . Id like to see the design take off, especially if more time went into styling the headtube so it wasnt so fugly .
  2. I know bigger rotor makes a difference . I meant that the different style and design of rotor itself of the new rotor vs the old rotor may have an effect, idk about that though so i didnt say it definitely did. Maybe i should have put a full stop as opposed to a comma :\.
  3. Id be up for thursday or friday mornings, or thursday or friday evening (after 5). Edit: Just remembered i got an exam friday afternoon so probably not going to ride friday morning as revision calls . Thursday evening could be pushing it as i should be revising then, however friday evening i could do for sure.
  4. I have both, and personally i think the old style is better, however i was comparing 203mm rotor (old style) with 185mm rotor (new style), and people do say that the new rotors suck, so that may have an effect.

    Mix From 2010

Lmao at the tree . Very nice riding, and good camera skills .
  6. looks awesome, wouldnt have such a steep stem, but everyone to their own . I also like the silver forks, black might look strange with a silver headset.
  7. liam, how is that second one possible haha, your just doing like a normal pedal kick and then your on your head . Harsh to laugh but was pretty funny .
  8. Wow that camera is good quality . Nice riding too, lol at the bit at the end
  9. Was looking at this myself . I think just the normal hope mono trials are one of the best around, and at £25 theyre not too bad (although it does bring up the price of that brake ). http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/disc_brake_rotors/hope_mono_trial/c76p24.html
  10. That was a fricken steal for £50 ! I wouldnt personally like to ride one of these, but for £50 can you go wrong?
  11. Dont think so mate, the avid rotors are 185 + 203mm, and hope calipers are 160 + 180mm's without adaptors. You may be able to bodge it with washers if you have the 185mm rotor and the hope you buy is #3 caliper (180mm version).
  12. Very smooth, nice looking bike too.
  13. Headtube . Looks pretty hideous. Also not too keen on the graphics and the price tag .
  14. Thats georgeous . So wierd seeing the brakes "wrong" way round though .

    Looe Ride

Nice, i watched it in 720p, the quality is really quite good. What was up with the finger pushing someone lol? Also that poor bike at the end getting properly salty, hope it got a proper wash .
  16. Not too keen on the colour :\. If they were black or somethingi think they would look a lot nicer.
  17. Very nice, like the stem, but not so much the amount of stackers . If you like it though, why not keep it that way .
  18. When you think some people in 1 ride may try a 6" drop easily 5 or 6 times. a 70kg guy (not at all big) landing on only the rear wheel is going to put huge amounts of stress on the rear end of the bike. If you ride 3 times a week (summer ) thats repeating those heavy stresses 15-20 times on a regular weekly basis, not surprising they cant gaurantee the frame, especially if your more commonly nearer to 90Kg and a bit of a basher aswell :$ . I do really like the simplicity of the new koxx frames, however i dont see how they can charge so much, compared to the £200 of a because simple . Evidently it will be more, with more CNC etc, but not such a difference .
  19. It doesnt look too grippy to be honest, i doubt it could be used to rest on natural things too well (wet logs etc), especially if your trying to preload where its quite easy to move your centre of mass off to the side slightly. Would be quite easily to slide right off which would be a bit of a bummer .
  20. I like this when im doing something quite big, seems to help lol . Also songs you know like all the words to seem to help, i guess singing along helps take your mind off what your doing? Does for me anyway. Like if im doing a long distance run, then ill make a playlist of songs that i know like all the words to, so i can sing most of every song for an hour, and i seem to be able to run better.
  21. Mate you free today? me and some other guy are heading to spar as we havent been there in a while. Not sure of the time but should be around late afternoon. My mobile is 07834270564 if you wanna contact me. I can text you when we are going to leave, the other guy lives in lymmington so you could arrange lifts idk? Unfortunately i work sundays though so cant make 16th =[.
  22. You would be able to run a freewheel if you had a threaded hub, but not if you have a splined hub, which is most likely the case if your running a casset, however the advantages of running a front freewheel is that you can get the gear ratios better, as its quite hard to make a 16T sprocket for a stock, and really hard to make a 12T freewheel for a mod, so its easier to run the freewheel up front and a sprocket at the back. Also it bring the center of mass closer to the middle of the bike, as opposed to the rear. Most cranks for trials have threads to fit a freewheel not anyway so its the more common thing to do.
  23. Very true, people often use their bashrings purposefully on objects to help them up and what not, hitting the frame only really occurs by accident and not that often, also doesnt do the same damage as your frame tends to slide off the object, where as a bash, as it implies, bashes into the object and can really fk it up .
