I did the same gear ratio change, and my gear skipped when I pedalled hard. At first, I thought it was my rear mech not giving enough tension. But it wasn't, I was using a standard cassette cog on the back (14t). I bought a 14t DX and it solved all my problems, so maybe consider a rear cog? Ie, King or Shimano/Gusset. Rossi.

Nice idea Lee, like the plan you came up with. Erm, I dunno if I could get 10 days off :blink: , even a week is a push. We need to finalise the month we're goin to go on the trip first. I'm out of action in early July as I start my new job! Can't be havin days off as soon as I start lol. June is good, August is okay as well. Get some allen key bolts :lol: not titanium ones either. I used to run flat head (and phillips) bolts when I had no allen key bolts, they were a bloody nuisance. Just couldnt do them up tight enough. Get some steel allen bolts, do yourself a favour. Other than the bolts :P good job. At least you're happy. Rossi.
