Hi All, First of all, apologies for the generic email, we thought this would be a little easier than send separate messages to everyone!!! Our reason for writing is to ask for your support for a charity cycle ride that we are doing now. We will endeavour to complete between us the 1040 mile journey, averaging approximately 80 miles per day. Departing from Lands End on Thursday 9th of September and ultimately arriving in John O Groats. We are taking this as a huge opportunity to raise funds for a Memorial foundation which is very close to our hearts. The foundation that we are raising money for is The Danny McBean Memorial Foundation: On September 18th 2009 a young and very talented trials cyclist, Danny McBean lost his life in a car accident. Danny and our daughter Courtnay had found out just weeks prior to the accident that they were to become parents. In May of this year Courtnay gave birth to their precious, beautiful little girl Amelia-Danni. It was Danny's dream to have a bike park built, locally. Somewhere that he and the other trials riders from near and far could go to build on their skills. In February Courtnay launched the foundation combining it with her fund raising birthday party. Knowing that this was Danny's dream Courtnay along with ourselves and Danny's family, is now endeavouring to raise sufficient funds by which to purchase a suitable piece of land on which the bike park can be built. A memorial trials ride is being held on Sunday 19th September in Inverness. This ride coincides with our sponsore cycle arriving in our home town of Inverness. Hi, just wanted to thank all of you that left such lovely comments (topic 'Wasn't quite sure where to post this' by Hannah Shucksmith on 20th July) with regards to the late Danny McBean and our daughter , Courtnay who gave birth to their beautiful daughter 12 weeks ago. Danny was a fantastic wee trials rider and would have been a fab Dad. We will keep you all posted on the fund raising events in aid of The Danny McBean Memorial Foundation. This has been set up by Courtnay to raise money to enable land to be purchased on which to build a bike park for all you riders out there. Danny would have loved it! :) Take care all of you......... keep smiling Danny, we love you angel x
