I'll be up for it car will be track suited by then too - already got coilovers and braided lines, soon having new calipers, clutch and polybushes and I'm dropping from 17"'s to 16"'s

Luckily my engine is non interference so at worst it's new cam pulley / belt and new alternator / belt and the alternator was going to be changed in a few weeks anyway. My biggest problem is I don't trust any of the mechanics near me (Crowthorne) enough to do anything more than maintain a cheap run around, I don't have tools or space to do it myself and the nearest mr2 specialists which luckily happen to be cheap as fook are 45miles away.

Well, not driven the car for a week due to back pain and copious amounts of codeine. Went to go for a blast and the alternator belt was squealing like mad. Cut the engine after noticing a plume of smoke from the engine bay and sharted bricks. Alternator pulley seized solid with some of the old belt still dripping from it, rest of the belt nowhere to be seen and the engine was stuggling slightly before I turned it off. I'm now thinking that the alternator belt is wrapped around the crank pulley because the cambelt was warm and sticky too. Bad times In general news though, solid topmounts look pimp as f**k Dan! Are they bronze? Or just annodized? Jardo fair play on getting in the article man, cars slowly but surely getting there.

That's where I work so even cheaper Enlighten me on back washing the injectors? I can't see myself using the puny James' cleaner for more than the injectors so it'd be a waste to have it in my shed doing nothing
-
Does it make a massive difference Dan? I can pick up an ultrasonic cleaner from work for about £60ish after discount and was wondering if it was worth it. What else could I theoretically clean with it?
-
Shit Stu glad you're okay! Looks worse than the Ranger you flipped a few years back and that thing was destroyed D:

I see some minor paint imperfections on your car Jardo My checklist is getting smaller for the car! Just need: Front calipers - Ordering when BigRed reply Rear calipers - These can wait until next month Polybush the car - Most likely this month, currently have extremly wobbly and twitchy handling, tramlining like a bitch and pulling all over the place so I'm hoping this'll sort it Alternator - Refurb unit, can wait until next month Clutch - Can also (hopefully) wait until next month Once those are done the pennies are getting saved towards a V6 conversion, I just want the roar and ease of driving especially as it'll still be my daily. Happy with car progress at the moment

I live in crowthorne too! I'm down hatch ride man

You should boost the Corsa because of reasons.

In my old car it went under the passenger seat , it might fit there on yours? Cheers man I do like the teg, one of my neighbours has a dc3 in blue although the yellow is nicer!
-
Well, definitely needed a seat out clean! Seats all cleaned up and looking good again, not bad for 15years/80k miles This is the pic of it fitted behind the passenger seat. I need to get the ol' iron out to shorten the cables but thankfully I have the cubby box to shove the massive excess in

I've had a Vibe Optisound8 for over a year now and I'm impressed, it's not earth shattering but I like bass to be part of the song and not best heard 15ft away. Just looked through my photos and I don't have one to show you I'll take one tomorrow (and as the cars clean I can pic whore ) it's strapped onto the rear firewall but does come with mounts so you can screw it in. Fits easily behind the mr2 seat whilst sat on top of a cubby box so should have plenty of room. I know you're into your music so it might not be up to your standard but I think it's decent and this Is using the standard (shit) unscreened phonos.

Aren't there laws concerning work like that at night? Something to do with breaching peace or whatever

So just drove to a friends in camberly for a night out. Car drove like shit, tram lined and pulled me into a raised manhole cover and put a nice little scrape on my wheel, sounded like the tyre had blown up as if it was about 60psi with a weird high pitched pop noise, as I pulled over to check yet another tram line pulled me into a dip and I scraped the front lip quite bad So, need clutch, track rod ends, refurb and tyres on my new set of wheels this month. Might need to dip into savings until I get the rotas sold on.

What hair? Car problem(s) albeit minor. Think I've got a sticking piston as once I've hit the brakes hard a few times I get a stupidly loud goose honk sound from the front left at lower speeds, embarrassing when I'm crawling over speedbumps at 2mph with the noise making everyone stare. Going to get big red to send out 2x front calipers this month and replace the rears when money allows. Also need to raise the ride height (a lot) as currently the wheels sit inside the arches and ever minor dips in the road make the tyres rub! I've also got a weird sort of clicking sound that sounds like it's coming from the Tbar, I'm certain it's either a dodgy bush or a captive nut on the subframe has gone though as the car does sometimes have a wandering "wobbly trolly wheel" sort of feeling sometimes. And to top it all off my clutch is about to die, there's no longer a bite point and it slips when cold. All these combined are turning my cheap little (barely) sports car into a slow moving, never using the brakes granny car. Ahh well, all part of the fun I spose

Currently I'm paying £750 for my mr2 with just under 4 years experiance and one years no claims. Not bad considering my 1.4 city rover cost £1200 a few months before

Maplin sell gell crimps, pop both wires in and pop it, waterproofs it too for engine bay wiring

The mr2 did a good 600mile trip to a log cabin in wales and a good blast around the wide smooth roads (when they're straight). Even after accidentally driving up hills so steep I couldn't see the road in front of me and ending up in dense fog today I managed 38mpg and 36mpg across two fill ups. Quite a lot nicer than my usual 23ish around town. Coilovers weren't too harsh either but I need to raise them a bit as I got quite a bit of rubbing.

Silverline variable speed machine polish thing any good? Might be able to get my hands on one for. £45, links below if non members can see http://www.imoc.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?p=1584711#1584711

Completely forgot about him, cheers Brett! Didn't he quote someone £150 just for a frame though? Edit* He wants £60 a wheel so £40 more expensive but I'll save £60 worth of postage and I have the benefit of picking them up / dropping them off, gunna go take one to him and have a chat. Thanks again for the heads up!

Had an unlucky week with my car so far. Got rear ended but amazingly neither car even had a scratch, had a new tyre on my sa3r's blow out and at less than 10mph yesterday I span my car on a roundabout. Decided I'm gunna treat myself to getting the sa3r's refurbed as a reward for coming out of all that without a scratch but where to get it done? I've been quoted £260 so far including strip down, clean up and powder coating including replacement vinyls for the centre cap. Don't know if I'm going to get much better especially after seeing the finish of the wheels he's done before (CardWhore on various forums/Facebook). These are a spare set of wheels so don't mind sending them off

Got rear ended on the way into work today and not even a scratch on either car! Got away quite lightly I think
