8kg for 26"= super light
7.5kg for 20" = super light
anyway 10kg for 26"(8.5-9kg for 20") bike is nice weight if you don´t wanna ride WC elite category imo
maybe he want to find correct height of front end ?
like that bike but long looks better in BB part because tubes are are closer to itself than on short IMO

I´ve got problem with fitting my rain king to trialtech undrilled rim too . it´s nearly unreal to get the tyre on . with urban rim it was really easy but with this rim it´s nightmare
half link is 12mm long so it´s increase chainstay leght by around 6mm (because of that your chain is going from freewheel to back and from back to freewheel again if you know what I want to say.
caliper or adaptor ? if adaptor than it´s normal for 203mm discs so cut a little piece from adaptor. and if itś not adaptor than you should make a better pics to show what´s the problem
or place some washer under brake
