  1. This is my ride, bought it used from singapore and pimped it up with goods from tartybikes. Czar 07 stock frame Echo Urban fork Echo TR stem Echo rise bar Echo 7075 brake clamp Magura HS33 Magura SL calipers Neon hole rims with lightly grinded rear rim TNN brake pads Echo TR hubs Echo TR 15T sprocket Echo 7075 crank + bashguard Echo SL chain Tensioner Tryall ISIS bottom bracket Adamant Brake lever Tryall black rimtape Wellgo magnesium pedals High rollers 2.35 front and back Planning to change to a ECHO SL rim brakes set up front and rear with echo TR hub up front for a more "trialsy" look.
  2. just got my orders in from tarty, and i did order the right hand side of a complete echo sl brake lever. my question is, can i put a right side brake master on the left side??? the hose would be on top and the filler grub screw will be facing down ward....need an expert's advice!!!
  3. well, when i bought it second hand for $350 frame only i thought it was a one of a kind frame, and mos def collectors item. but later on i found out that the bike store next door still have one brand spankin' new frame hanged up on the wall. with a price tag of $650. well i would rather buy a Yeti ARC for that price. I think i will build it up for hans rey sake. i do love GT, been riding GT since the early 90's
  4. So i should just sell it? because i feel that the gt trial frame is too much of an mtb frame rather than a trial frame. i wouldnt be able to practice on one and apply it to a stock trial bike.
  5. how much difference does a cnc lever and master slave of an echo sl rim brake compared to a stock magura hs33? is the power difference that significant? is it so much lighter that we shouldnt even bother buying hs33? can replacing a complete brake lever unit of a hs33 to an echo sl master improve greatly in performance?
  6. GT zaskar trials got me interested in trying out trial, but after calculation, it was cheaper to buy a used stock 26 bike rather than building up the gt zaskar trials frame up...What should i do? keep it as a ornament or just sell it? seems like the frame demanded a suspension fork to maintain an ideal bb height for trial.
  7. alrighty, der kaiser for the rear and what about the front?? stick to speed king 2.1 or opt for a 2.3 instead? as for the brakes, i got the czar second hand, the rear uses echo sl, and front and old mis matched magura-shimano combo. just got a fresh pair of hs33 brakes. should i opt to install front and rear rim brakes? light grind the new rim as well? trialtech sport rim at the back and echo tr rim at the front...waddaya think Mr.Travis?
  8. Thus my eyes deceive me!!??!!! Could it be true that THE Ben Travis have answered my question??? WOW!!!!! love your tricks on the ol' czar!! inspiring!!! so let me get this straight, der kaiser is good....but....failful to you or faithful to you.. what do you recommend for a beginner??
  9. Hey All, i am new to trial. i usually do xc on my yeti. just got czar 07 stock for my first bike. used and abused at a decent price. i am fixing it up with new rims and tires. and i am conflicted between trying out the new trial specific tires from continental and der kaiser. i am a big fan of conti. they are fast. i use raceking supersonics on my yeti race bike and mountain king on my other bikes. seems like a lot of light weight competition bikes such as slate II uses der kaiser. when its actual weight is more that 1250gram. for xc, we spend a lot of money to shave off weight of our wheel set because it counts as 30% of the bike's overall weight. if you spend big money on a 1.5kg frame only to use a 1.2kg tires...Is it worth the weight??? how good are they???
  10. Hi all!!! My name is Gempur. I am from Indonesia, i live in the big city of Jakarta. i usually do cross country cycling with my Yeti ARC. i thought i might give trial a try. Got my self a limited Zaskar Trial GT frame. and i hope this forum will add my understanding of Trial. Thanks
