  1. lol, well it's definitely a form of it, austria reckon the moon has no effect but every other site i have check reckon it does your not the first to say that lol, i can honesty say i have never woken up next to a carcass butt naked
  2. haha, i've just been reading through this post and i must say you people need a glass of warm milk lol i rarely sleep tesco would be proud of the bags under my eyes, i mainly don't sleep around full moons due to a condition that hasn't been named yet, i have spent many a sleepless night googling looking for answers to it but most people say it's to do with the moons magnetic or gravitational pull or as i like to call it "no buggers knows so we'll make up a reason an hope that satisfies them" well best get to work (hope they can put up with me bein cranky today)
  3. did you have to mention this lol, we spend so much only to lose it all on a sale, it's so gutting even more so when you see xc bikes that you wouldn't give a kid to their paper round on make more money. i'm renaming trials to open wallet surgery
  4. lol, are megamo stil going, just the name brings back memories like ot pi and alike, mind you i can still remember the gas gas mods
  5. is says newbie because i'm new to the forum, dumbass an they are age old word spoken by motor-cyclists before me so you best get a brain cell an work out that if you can lift a couple of extra 1/2 grams then you are infact the pussy, i used to ride trials on full chromoly bikes that would suited a scrap yard better than my garage, man up it's a pitiful amount of weight to moan

    Ashton 24" Vid

wow....yup that pretty much covers all i can say on this lol can i ask where this was filmed as it looks familier
  7. lol, i've heard to many people being overly conscious about weight the average bolt wieghs bout a gram so why bother, do they remove the insoles from trainers to make runners faster by shaving weight no, the only things weight should be thought about is on frame, forks, cranks and wheels everything else is just not worth caring about a prime example is titanium bolts as i was in the pub one day i over heard an xc rider say " well i've shaved off ten grams to my bikes" so i told him i shaved a kilo off "how?" he asked, easy i took a dump!
  8. you sound like a weight weenie, here's my top tip: before a ride take a shit/piss
  9. personally if i want to know how much something weighs then i just weigh it
  10. flat pack houses what will they think of next, nice video dude one day i will have half the skill to do that
  11. parts are pretty much usable from bike to bike but if your buying new then you wouldn't really need to replace the parts for atleast 6months so you wil have plenty of time to do your homework an chat here to find out
  12. i like the way you think, i have a t-rex but brought the frame new without the seat adaptor other wise i would have sold it you, i think there were the adapters for the onzas on ebay but can i add to this topic by asking where can i get a ashton fender seat from as i can make a bracket to fit but just don't know where to get the seat from
  13. get your hands on ryan leech's how to dvd, it's a lil patronising but can really help i have never really been good at trials, i ride mine like an old pre '65 moto-trials bike, but i am starting to grasp the basics from the mentioned dvd
  14. i agree fully with this, the diamondback 20" ones are reasonable too, although most found the head angle very tight do any of your friends have trials bikes or do your local shops sell them if so askfor a test-ride see what suits you the get a bike that is similar
  15. check local listings on ebay, ask for a viewing, you can check bearing by giving everything a good waggle if there is play walk away the 20" trials bike are super cheap (in a sense) but are easy for parts 26" can be a bitch as they usually have more on em to go wrong i.e. gears etc etc but as the others say onza are really good, my friend paul averill used to ride for them an thanks to him i got into this fine sport. good luck finding one
  16. http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/81176-speed-up-performance-vista.html try some of these, although you could never beat linux's performance you can at least try lol (i cant comment on mac as i have never used it, but even thats meant to be faster that windozzy)

    Magura Mash-Up

i'm unsure as the reservoir on the lever may give a squashy feel but i know when i had hs's before they felt similar to cable brakes an i don't want to lose that
  18. i had some on a haro revo (the twin top tube version) years ago but a friend simply used some tubing that had a wall thickness of 3/4mm an cut two shims about 1.5mm thinner than his dropouts, i think they're still on his bike now
  19. hi, i have got a set of old magura julies lying around i was goin to use the rear hose to put me front magura hs to the rear but obvisouly this will mean either runnin my lever upside down or runnin usa brake set-up (neither off which i want) can i use the julie lever with the hs piston dohickeys an would i need to do anything to them like a modification of something
  20. you can in vista, also another handy mod is to disable the auto-defrag it helps speed it up but still means you gotta do it every so often
  21. open office is the same as ms office or you can run ms office on it, i know photo-shop cs4 can run with wine but dunno about the collection (i'm not that into image and vid editing more just making em fit on me mob etc) erm not too sure if i'm honest never came across it for installs, i use persistent usb's a lot so i can take it anywhere. if you runnin it on a netbook an it's an acer aspire one then try kuki linux it was made for em an is ubuntu/debian based other than that install it again (i presume you've wiped it off already) an google the conf-editor see if that fixes it or extract the iso for kuki linux find the .deb files for the kernel install netbook remix ubuntu (it's got a funky interface) an install the custom kernel (it'll be loads better than the general kernel)
  22. mines always stayed in uk do you set it at the install prompt (i'm on 9.10) although knoppix an slackware pissed me off with the same thing (as i said i don't like the faffing around as you mentioned which a few other linux distros make you do, lazy swines) have you told it to save sessions i think kde does that as standard but i only use gnome its lighter etc, gnomes options fo sessions are set as off by default, what disc you running off, it could be an earlier version
  23. correction microsoft only said it shouldn't have been released as a 32-bit o/s an i don't use terminal, i use gui for everything, i switched to linux because i was sick of have to fix windows i use it for everything i did on a windows pc an more peace of mind was what i was after i.e. from viruses etc, no more defrags an random crashing, no more restarting pc every 5mins to install stuff its faster an far more reliable. if windows is that good why do governments and their agencies (fbi, cia etc etc) use it instead also bill gates himself doesn't use it he's a linux user an the rest o his pc are macs yes is it the most widely used but that is because you are spoon fed windows i.e. buy a pc windows installed then you get spoon fed you apps also to those that do thing legally then you have to buy all you software like burners, anti-virus etc where as we have al this built in from the start it isn't the best its just a case of microsoft putting other companies onto the payroll windows 7 and vista need ram just to run the system alone my laptop has way more visual effects an can run multiple apps like video converter etc at the same time an it barely touches my hardware you windows users are forever re-installing it to "fix" problems that only come back again where as i can just swap a file (most of the time) 9 times of out ten if you take a pc to a shop to be repaired they use live discs to fix em an charge you, our software is made by people for people not a business man trying to make money so he doesn't give a toss if it fails (a lot) our methods are not long winded they are sure fire methods if you strip windows down to code you will see that they are themselves unix based just been mashed up an removed near enough all the security n.b. all these supposed new features that are on win7 have been in use by us linux users for years isn't it time microsoft got up to date
