thats what made me want it lol, that an the fact a lad i know (paul averil) used to ride for onza and helped design it i'm really not fussed about weight, lighter=weaker, if i find the bike to heavy hen i'll work up the strength just had a wheel but slow goin at mo (thanks labour for screwing our country) will be changing pic for a more recent one----prob tonight
-
time-serts rock, but the prob with cycle stufff is the fine pitch thread, really we should use standard thread sizes this would have made some of my repairs a lot easier
-
i found the best way was a to drill out the stripped bolt hole and press fit a shim that makes it back to original size then thread that, same method used to fix bb's etc also a dab of something i think is called alpoxy to help really stick them shim in works far better than a helicoil- used to helicoil parts on old brit motorbikes most bolts no matter how hard a rider you are will be at the correct torque setting at a quarter turn past the point where the allen key get stiff/finger tight and don't forget the drive the bolts back and forth through it's thread to make sure it's clean etc too early for me,translate my half awake typing to suit your needs
-
on ebay you can get some 24/26 4 bolt forks i believe they are onza, edit: just had a quick browse can't see them listed sorry waste your time

i don't remember seeing the kid ask if everyone liked the tune, i'm pretty sure he was asking about the riding each to their own but darren styles come on he's a bit lovey dovey for a hardcore dj lol keep it up kid and ignore pesky off topic comments

i brought my onza t-rex frame (brand new) off ebay for 80 squid inc delivery, cheap as chips lol don't break it though retro is cool
-
i love this thread and i fully agree, i am building a '05 t-rex which is pretty modern except i will be riding it in a old school fashion partially because i'm crap but mainly as i want to practice to do some pre '65 motorbike trials when i'm older or can afford a twin shock trial bikes, everyone these days is trying to go against the constant hopping style but in my opinion that's what makes it fun. THERE'S ONLY ONE WAY TO RIDE AND THAT'S WHAT EVER WAY YOU WANT.

dam i wanna see it but i refuse to re-join facebook (can think of better thing to do than farms etc) is this vid on youtube or can you give me another link

i never really care about weight (unless its on the major stuff i.e. frame wheel etc) but they will weigh a tonne the clim8 also don't brake as good as most the other companies out there even the gustav's from magura work better and they were practically hated by everyone except for cedric gracia hence why you can get brand new sets for dirt cheap £120 for front an rear inc rotors etc is the most i have seen the clim8's fetch in shop's stick em on ebay
-
correct me if i'm wrong but the motorbikes have always been ahead of us, push bikes were used to train for the engines. julien dupont is setting the future for motorbike trials

hi, im slowly gettin my rig runnin (the moan part-- i fudging hate monthly pay lol) and i am on the look out for a place where i an regularly ride, it needs to be near stafford/rugeley as the bike will be my only transport. obvisously i know places around my hometown but they are either to big for me (been away from trials for a handfull of years, so will class myself as a newbie) or i have ridden em too much. i need somewhere that i can work my way up the "levels" in a sense i.e. a good place to learn and progress. any tips will be much appreciated and once she's built i would like to meet up with local riders to leech sorry learn from.

i usually just twat the f**kers out with the forks steerer tube
-
yh ending up with an abundance of parts lying around where you'd try every combo possible, i do miss those days it was cheaper an easier to build a rig, im struggling to get me t-rex goin (monthly pays limits the majority) what with all the new fangled parts
-
i'm still there lol, who cares if it's not a next macaskill i do like you bike though like bein back in the lates 90's or when everyone was using saracen x-torts etc since the riding is making you happy keep goin at it, if i can get mine up an runnin i'll try an catch up

What Bike? (Sorry, You Must Have Had So Many Of These)
Tux07 replied to Jimbob 2705's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
the great thing about trials is you can practically do it on anything, there is video's of danny holroyd doing it on a 18" xc rigid bike, chris akrigg on a fixie brakeless and a lad on pinkbike doing it on an all mountain full susser, quickest way to get your trek ready would front brake an lose the two bigger rings on the crank leavin the granny ring and shorten your chain (if you grind he teeth off the middle ring you can use it a a make shift bash ring, although it may bend quite easily) then just ride and practice whilst you save up for a rig -
