  1. Hey I notice you're from blyth - my nan lives there - off the 'ook. Best way to make money in blyth is to become a property developer. Buy some shares in a local property development company* * note this does not constitute as finanacial advice, as property prices can rise and fall. Past performance is not a guide to future adventure
  2. Are the Nano's (apple) Solid state?
  3. Most mp3's have flash (also known as solid state) memory so, as they have no internal parts will not skip. Largers mp3's such as iPod classic, photo and Creative Zen etc have a microdrive which is like a conventional hard disc but they have a 30 minute anti-skip advance read.
  4. ebuyer are crap, athough i've just ordered all my new hard drives from them, the money you save is the money they save on good service.
  5. If you threaten to withold payment it's amazing how quickly things get fixed
  6. The modem doesn't know what time it is. It's obviously a problem with BT.
  7. Why? It's standard network rate. But the extra sales generated will be quadruple the cost of the ipods. Actually the iPods are probably the cheap part... all the TV and press advertising will cost more and they will need to withdraw the promotional packs at the end of September.
  8. all these guys with big screens how the hell do read text? my eyes strain on anything bigger than 15"!
  9. I having my hair my hair highlighted tomorrow, dunno what to expect, I'll post a before and after! BTW do I have to wash my hair before I go?
  10. At what point will he decide he was not cut out to be a skater?
  11. Where were shot Nick? I saw a thing on the news about some kid killed by an airgun... people think they are toys. Talking about the legal system .. there was also that thing about a teacher or something threating a group of chavs with a plastic BB gun with an orange tip cos they'd just smashed her sons car and the house for no reason other than they were chavs. She gets locked up for a month, they get feck all. You get shot an there response is lackluster. It annoys me that instead of going for the trouble makers the police are going for the Middle Class who will probably admit and not kick up a fuss. Someone restore my faith.

    Gta San Andreas

Second Hand maybe and thats out of date next month! I disagree with consoles per se, it's a false economy. Everyone needs a PC for email, documents vid editing etc. For an extra few notes you can make your PC into a gaming machine. You can play games such a RCT3 and a myriad of others using a mouse or keyboard or buy a controller (which I have) and play San Andreas. Also updates, patches and hacks are available to PC users (which note consoles are attempting to emulate) along with the broadest range of titles than any console could hope for. And games are more expensive - remember Microsoft are making a huge loss on every xbox sold. Oh and - what's this? - they don't play imported games or movies  £280 on a xbox 360 (don't forget the 50quid games too) - forget that buy a top of the range X800 graphics card, fit and forget until 2008 (Y) while others are whinging about how much new games are costing and their xbox isn't backward compatible 'cos they haven't got the optional hard drive.
  13. I'm lovin' that  They're still pissed about the Olympics (Y) Seriously Stu, sorry to hear about it but the dealer sounds reet expensive, perhaps try an owners club for advice.

    Eyetv?

So in effect you need two licences? One for your room and one for the communal area that's spiggin ridiculous, TV licence peeps. The way the detection vans work anyway is by re-radiation from the aerial, which, when connected to a central feed, could be anybody. By the way you need a TV licence for anything capable of receiving a TV signal unless it has been de-tuned (i.e TV with no aerial, not tuned and you only use to play vids on) or is powered completly by it's own internal batteries. Or, at least, that's my understanding.

  20. He might have got away lighter if he hadn't clipped the wheel on the way out. :)
  21. That spec seems pretty sweet. Is that DVDRW dual layer? It should look at good as it is. I would recommend getting another Hard drive - use one as storage and one as installation directory, or run a RAID setup - supposed to be good but I don't know alot about it. I dunno much about the 9600xt but I too have a 9800 pro and it runs everything at top res, sweet, no complaints and can be overclocked. Is that motherboad PCI express? in which case get the X800.

    Speeding

I'm amazed at how quickly this thread turned to handbags at dawn. Spacemunkee, this is why insurance is so expensive for teens just past their test. 8/10 can't equate dangerous driving to serious injury or death. I've seen it - and I know it's stereotyping but it's true, proven by this thread. I've been driving for just over a year and I never 'speed' I may occassionally exceed the published speed limit but this is at my own discretion. I believe that once you are issued with a licence you should be able to make an informed judgement about the correct speed at which to travel, which depends on an infinite number of variable such as time of day, traffic conditions, weather etc. Just like you make a descision about when to pull out onto a busy road? I think everybody goes through a stage when they've just passed their test where there tear arse around. As mentioned before in the thread - it's stupid. I've had a few occassions where I've seen something or a 'what if?' scenario which has really made me think - a bit like spacemunkee. Unfortunately its only with time and experience that the skill and foresight develop. There are so many things I do differently now than to a year ago. Coming back to my point about discretion in relation to the speed you travel - it can work the other way too. There are some roads that are 60 by me that I would never dream of driving at that speed - windy, single lane raods with high hedges and loose top surface. And then 2am on a motorway in moonlight and bone dry, good, clear road you should travel the same speed as 5pm on a wet motorway in driving rain? Sorry if I rambled, and please don't clog this thread with shit, I think this is a thread is very topical without bitching
  23. I agree with adamm SMARTFTP
  24. Great minds think alike. - And don't read previous posts. Bloody simple though, made simpler by my step-by-step guide!
  25. Why don't you try this: 1. Weigh youself 2. Hold you bike and stand on the scales 3. From a simple bit of maths ie: part 2 - part 3 = weight of your bike. Clever non?
