That was really pro put together. Smooth riding.

If some of his correction hops disappeared in places where he had to do to set up sidehops (which will probably go away with time), the guy would be crazy. He's got skills for sure....excited to see how this kid rides in a couple years with the lines he has going on in that vid.

Why do people hate on somebody for buying a top end bike when they can afford to? Just because you can't doesn't mean you should hate on the guy. If anything it's a SMART purchase cause as stated, it's pretty well built and can definitely take beginner abuse better than other bikes out there. haters.

If it's not the Elite hub, don't bother with purchasing one. While they're a really solid hub, they've been hit or miss with working for trials. You'll either have zero issue and it'll last forever or you'll have one that will fail after a couple months. The Elite hub on the other hand to date has had zero failures. I know a couple factory riders (the Profile factory is only 3 hours from my house) who also mess about on trials bike and have them on their bikes as well. One of them has an OG prototype from a couple years ago that hasn't even been serviced yet and it's running flawlessly.

I think it works well. I agree that ideally they need a street rider in there, but eh, it still works. The crowds wouldn't know the difference, they would just see a guy on a bmx and then a guy on a mtb hopping on the back wheel.

The clearance is quite a bit better now that I have the TNN pads and backings on there. I have a normal level of clearance and it no longer knocks the cylinders. I do still have some rear end flex that will hopefully be alleviated with the new one piece axle and fun bolts kit on the King. Looking forward to the upgrade as I REALLY like the way she rides! Thanks for the compliments!

Finally got it up and running. I couldn't keep waitin on RCP to finish my frame, so I got one for the mean time. Not quite sure why the uploader keeps giving me a server return error, so you'll have to click the link below then scroll down a lil to see it completely built up. 17.68 lbs It's a little flexy in the rear end, but I really like the geometry. Hopefully I like the sky geo, or I may be coming back to this bike. http://www.observedtrials.net/vb/showthread.php?t=46586

I know you can still get a pretty beefy tire with a foldable bead, but the sidewalls themselves still look a little thin by how they wave and what not. Again, that's just my perception from the picture. I saw in the latest Stan video he was running them...how are they?
-
Judging by how it looks when folded, probably not. Could be wrong though, it is after all, the internet.

Sorry guys, server is on the crazy, so I had to upload pictures elsewhere...you can see the pics here: http://www.observedtrials.net/vb/showthread.php?t=45772

Taking a break from some hw, I decided to tinker in the bike room and start assembling some stuff. Ignore the rape matress: Build list: Try-All Carbon Bars Try-All 150x30 mod stem ESI grips Crank Bros Iodine C All-mountain headset Middleburn RS7 cranks Reset Ti bb TNN Alloy bash/sprocket Blackspire Sub 3 pedals (265g actual weight ) TNN Integrated booster/clamp system Rockman Spade fork HS33 F&R brakes Coust Pads Rockman front rim laced to Rockman hub Chris King Classic rear hub Der Kaiser rear tire Race King front tire Ceramic bearings swapped into BB and front hub Ti bolts throughout I'm waiting on some parts to arrive: Ti bolt skewers, Neon rear rim, Sapim Cx Ray spokes, ti crank bolts. I'm stoked. Based on all of the above, my rig should come in right under 19lbs so long as my frame is less than 5 lbs. Realistically, I should be at mid 18 and pretty damn solid. Not really any sketch parts, so I'm pretty confident it'll last a bit. I'm itching for a try-all carbon fork....just don't know if I like the way it looks on frames other than the sky. The crown looks awkward on other bikes as the lines don't flow well going into the fork IMO. But, it's almost a whole pound off the bike Just waiting on my RCP Reynolds proto frame to show up. Talked to him today, he's moving locations so things have been a bit backed up as a result (as well as that storm in New England a couple weeks back.) Should be done with my frame in two weeks. Here's to hoping. I'm really excited as the rest of the parts show up mid next week. I'll build the rear wheel than all it really is waiting for is the frame.

Hah, I actually have that CD. She's a very accomplished/skilled violinist, never thought I'd hear her music on a trials vid...from asia no less.

observedtrials.net It's the US version of this website, so to speak. Be warned though, most of the people on there are assholes. Funny thing is though, if you meet them in real life, they're nothing like that. I've met a lot of people on that forum in person that if I only knew online, I'd think they're complete shitheads.
-
Surprised I didn't see this on OTN ESPECIALLY since you're in Boston as there's a ton of riders in that area.
-
Holy shit that was intense.

But is it really anybody's place to tell them to wear a helmet or not? You're not their mom or dad. Also, if a person wants to not wear one, it's their risk. If they get hurt or die, well, they shoulda wore a helmet then. It's kinda f**ked up to say that, but sometimes it takes a serious injury for a person to listen to others. If you told them once and they don't listen, well, sleep well in knowing you did your part in letting them know the risk and weren't an overbearing asshole that oppresses your opinions on everybody else.

You're not absorbing enough with your legs when you land. Riding with higher pressure does two things for you though, obviously it decreases pinches, but it also forces you to be smoother in that you're not relying on your tires to assist. That's why you notice your gaps are significantly smaller with higher pressure, the tire is doing more for you than technique. Run it high for a bit and learn to absorb more with your legs. Try to land fully extended so you have room to absorb....then lower pressure in a couple weeks.

I don't ride with people who don't wear shin guards for the simple fact that I don't want to pick up pieces of their shins when they slip a pedal or have to clean up blood. It's just irresponsible to not wear proper protection at all times. See how stupid that sounds when I insert another piece of safety equipment in there? About as stupid as it sounds when people complain what other people are wearing when it has absolutely no impact on how you yourself ride. If that person doesn't want to, why is it anybody's place to tell them otherwise? Oh, and I also don't ride with people who don't wear gloves or dedicated trials shoes

I'm pretty surprised not more people are commenting. Was a pretty ill demo.

I have the fun 50mm bar on my street bike. Well, it's more of a do everything as I ride it on trails as well. It's holding up fine and is stiff as f**k and pretty light.
-
I remember a couple years ago when I ran my fork/bars/stem like that, people said "holy spacers" and "that probably rides like shit", but now, everybody is doing it and nobody says a damn thing....funny how that worked out.

I think the funniest thing about when people want to know how to get sponsored is they don't even think about it from the other end. If you were a business owner, would you sponsor noobs and people just wanting free shit or would you sponsor well-established people in the community that have results and are professional? And like everybody on here said, spelling, grammar and punctuation go a long way in presenting yourself as a sell-able commodity. If looking for a job (which is what sponsorship is btw), would you not take care in making sure all words are spelled correctly on your resume? If so....well, you have a long way to go. Not just in finding a sponsor, but in life in general.

Makes me want to give that a go just because he looked like he was having so much fun. It's like riding a free-freecoaster, hahah. I was expecting an ET in there somewhere though
