  1. The French really do make good cheese.
  2. 2001: the Vail worlds in Colorado, they had the traditional rock sections then one in the main area that was all wood and more "ramp"ish... The hardest part of all the sections was here, a wooden built "half pipe" where the riders had to drop in from one box and make it to the other side up to another box. Practically no one could do this, I would say the average 15 year old bmxer could do it with style. People were just pedal kicking down to the bottom then trying to get up it, many failed to drop into the transition and just ate it. The Coustelliers personal videos, and taste, have always been poor. Only when someone else gets behind the camera can we experience their riding for what it is (was?)...Even then they were forcing people to use linkin park songs only... ... my cell phone films in 1080, this was an abomination.
  3. Perhaps in another 5 years Or whenever something interesting makes its way through LA...
  4. Glad you guys all like it Basically he got off a plane, got this new 24" bike and went for a ride...I just borrowed a 7d from a friend (never used it ever for filming) and we went off- him on his first ride of the bike and me on the first use of the camera...If Kenny dedicated himself to street style I think we would see some truly amazing things. And yes, I did put in 'the scorpion' on purpose for the OGs who could pick it up!
  5. vimeo: http://vimeo.com/19906769 youtube: Make sure to watch in HD... Just a bit of fun we had a couple months ago...Hope you enjoy and it gets you out on a bike this weekend

2 years ago...try 3 or 4. Had nothing to do with british riders. In fact looking back on it its making fun of something from 2001-2002, an american rider...who would make almost identical videos (with the face close ups and terrible moves). And then I realized most the people who have posted above me didn't know what a trials bike was back then, so I have some flowers for you to smell.
  8. its just in the editing. The original posted video in this thread has no heart, no soul. Boring and lifeless. Comes with the editing and filming. Whoever made those videos in your post put something more than just "here is a sidehop" into it.
  9. I haven't even logged into this account in over a year.... but I had to just to say beautiful video- really great comradery, great riding, good music+filming...some serious talent coming out in the UK vids. Really impressive you guys still honor a fallen friend, very class- I'm sure DJ would be happy good on you
  10. Don't worry, not everyone wants to buy everything. This vid is for people who have enjoyed my movies in the past, they won't be disappointed. If you haven't liked any of those, you won't like this one. Natural Urban Suprises Special features; of which will probably not make vincent happy, remixed older footage, unreleased kieta footage. Basically my internet movies, but put into a longer more thought out format. Same music/editing styles as always. I think my bandwidth is killed
  11. Myspace is getting me in trouble....too many girls.
  12. Jumped in head first...and everything else. Made the transition from film in 05, I'm on my second canon dslr right now and eyeing a full frame...work 9-5 professionally as a product photographer, in the off hours do mostly portraiture for money and my own personal stuff. Need more studio equipment...and L primes...soon. There seems to be a lot of age-ism in professional photography, the youngest guy I know is 34 years old but he is really really nice- kind of a mentor to me...he just got a big deal with starbucks which is amazing to me as he just started his own business 5 months ago after 14 years of just family portraits. All I can say is women seem to like photographers.
  13. Tell her to get a nikon fe-2 (or something in the fe class)- nikon rules the film market, canon has the upper hand on digital...You probably don't want her to take a plunge into digital (or if her coursework doesn't allow it) purely based on money...The camera body is the cheap part, things after that = expensive. You can get so much film stuff off of ebay for cheap.... These days the differences between 35mm and high end digital cameras is close to nil...the only place film still has a serious advantage in is medium and large format cameras, which are absolutely amazing....and each time you take a picture you are spending 2-3 quid...so not very practical for anyone except amazing pros with tons of funding. I don't know any professional photographers who use film anymore, a sad truth. Film is great to learn with...photoshop holds all the same powers a darkroom does- if you are anti post processing you might want to look into some older famous photographers and see their before and after shots. The only difference is you don't get your hands dirty. Just stay away from the filter menu Alot of unis are switching to digital, the only reason some are not is because they have so much money invested in film (darkrooms, old teachers etc.) that they can't really just throw it all away and feel good about themselves/economically viable. At the end of the day the only thing that matters is the 9 or so inches behind the viewfinder...just always remember that when you are drooling over this and that camera...good light and a good eye is worth so much more than any piece of equipment (unfortunately equipment is generally necessary for good light). Cheers -andrew
  14. Hey craig, you might like my friends site: http://www.daily-routine.com/ Some interesting shirts on there... Cheers.
  15. Jeeeeeeeeesus are wages that horrible in england? I would shoot myself if I was getting less than 13 usd an hour...hourly wages are no fun, go salaries! My 20 year old friend just got a job for 52k american a year; puts me to shame wow- and to the bike shop guy...my roomate just started at a bike shop, he gets $10 an hour. Mechanics get $15 an hour to start, and go up from there. $15 = 8.0312684 pounds :dunno: I'd ask for a raise
  16. I've never heard the acronym tft before? I think I have a 20" one
  17. Just got back from riding the park myself...you sir are a f**king shredder!!
  18. I can't tell where that is phil...but that is a very detailed image, and for everything to show up well (and to stay well- lines tend to bleed as you get older, if they are relaly close to eachother they will bleed into eachother and look like poo) you will have to probably get it fairly large...around 11-14" tall I would say.
  19. I don't even have msn on this computer don't think i've been on msn in 3 months...I found him by searching denver ( my big city) for a year or so, looking at all the shops portfolios and such...and alot of people have stuff on their web site! Actually, all of them do...if they are a really good shop- which is the only kind you want to go to if you are getting something large... These are my 2 shops locally: www.thinktanktattoo.com www.twistedsol.com another favorite: www.brandonbond.com The only problem with most sites is that they don't get updated much- I wasn't impressed with my artists work online...then i saw their portfolio in the studio and was completely blown away!
  20. I drew up the ideas and some rough stuff, found an artist i loved and brought in a bunch of different resources for him to use- as well as asking for him to put some of his own style monsters in there... The main girl picture was used from a photo I had- what you need to do nick is really, really research all the tattoo artists in england (and possibly europe)- find a style you love and save for as long as it takes to go to him and have him draw everything up and do it for you. I'm always on the look out for artists, everyone has their own style...if you find a style you love and go to him and you won't be sorry about the work that comes out of it! In terms of them looking like shit- your whole body will look like shit at that point! I don't take my shirt off or show any of my tattoos to anyone...they never hit the sun. They are for me and me alone, and sometimes to scare women who have no idea about them until I am over them with my shirt off (use your imagination, so far they have all been good comments... ahaha). Since I was a little kid I was interested in tattoos, and now it is a life long love...I like to live life to its fullest, and would not be suprised if I didn't live past 40. I would hate to wake up at 50-60 and wish that I had done something, for me that is a greater fear than death. I see people 70-80-90 years old as people who aren't really alive, we aren't meant to live that long...that is an entirely different subject though and its only my personal ideas Obviously biologically we are wired to want to live as long as we can so we can watch our offspring and ensure their proper growth and prosperity...another thing is to not get trendy tattoos! Don't get something because you think it might be cool or your friends see people with that style and think it is cool..be different... ps I'm not really on msn or AIM any more, just myspace :dunno: oh ps- one piece of advice...before you get a tattoo, take a magic marker (permanent or whatever) and draw it on roughly where you want it/ with the same size and live with it for a few days and see what you think!
  21. No one can tell you/anyone what to do with their body! People shouldn't get so angry if someone wants stars or doesn't want stars...I don't want stars, i won't put them on my body. I also would never pierce anything. I'd tattoo my face before I'd pierce anything Different strokes for different folks. The one good things about getting stars is, just incase if something happens later on in life and you have a change of heart, they are generally not that big and easy to cover up. Body mod threads seem to get some anger going, but thats just because its the internet...silly things always happen on the internet. A great punk line goes "the only difference between tattooed and non tattooed people is tattooed people don't care if you're not tattooed!" My chest piece is on hold...the artists has a constant 4-6 month wait, I have three 3 hour appointments set for august and september...It went from a 6 hour operation to 15+ very quickly, and may end up encompasing my shoulders and going down towards sleeves...I'm not too sad about the wait, money should be much more readily available by then anyway... I hope! Oh and nick- I wasn't really kidding about that back piece For me the back is the largest canvas on your body, and it will take years for me to figure out what I want...very important place for sure, I will be covering the whole thing without a doubt with one large (LARGE!) tattoo...no idea yet...but as for the imagery I was talking about I've been playing with some ideas of that nature recently. We'll see what the years do to me
  22. This is what you should get: A little girl holding 3-4 severed heads of men in her hands, smiling and looking up at something really scary with huge hands about to crush her head. And it should be a back piece. ~50 hours at least.
  23. haha...yeah i bet those hurt alot
  24. The second I saw it I knew I wanted it
