So I'm pretty sure everyone here has seen or heard of custom bike frames made using bamboo for the main tubes. Regularly see adverts for them on social media and occasionally get the odd review or magazine article about them but what really caught my eye a few minutes ago is this bad boy:- Discuss....

Ordered a set of 9mm end caps and a Superstar 9mm quick release through axle last night as I was sure I'd left mine on an old bike I sold. Just had a quick look in my other toolbox and bloody found them Intelligent me would send the new ones back and get my money back, actual me will probably keep them both and spend more money hunting down another front Pro 2 to sit in my spares box gathering dust with my other rear.....

Just a warning that you might end up switching them out. I did the same on a compy 24 I built years ago and they weren't very good though that could have been the rotors fault. Also fitted a standard Echo to the front of my current 24 Adamant with a 200mm rotor and whilst the lever might not be as good as a Shimano the brake was still gash hence me buying that BB7 off you! I may stand to be corrected however and if so I've got a spare XT lever I'll be swapping with the Echo.

Have you already got the Echo calipers?

I'm sure people used to ride the old mk1 frames with a 120 x 17° stem but not sure how much the geo has changed since then...

Similar situation to Ali here. Family friend who lived down the road from the farm died a few weeks ago (he was 103) and he left a clause in his will that would give my father in law a discount on buying his house from his family when he died due to all we've done for him over the years and it backs onto one of our fields (see screenshot and crude drawing). After it being valued at £385,000 we've been told we can have it for £285,000 (could be slightly less) and his daughter just wants it gone fully furnished so the plan is for all the family to club together to put a lump down on it then hopefully me and the wife get a mortgage to cover the rest and we move in. Needs a bit of work doing, mostly removing old person decorating, but it's pretty much ready to go. Been living on top of each other here for 7yrs now so fingers crossed we can sort it and finally get our own space again. Trying not to get too excited but it all seems really promising.

Found a supplier with them in stock but shifter, mech and cassette are looking like £180. If you end up buying seperately I'd go for Sunrace MX3 11-46t cassette, any Shimano long cage 11spd mech and any 10spd shifter then probably a Raceface or Superstar narrow wide chainring

That looks like a great deal and decent reviews. Wish I'd spotted it when I was building up the kids bikes!

Can keep it relatively cheap with a long cage 11spd rear mech and 10spd cassette and shifter. Stick an 11/46 on the back with a 32 chainring and you're pretty much set for anything.

Anyone been watching? I've never really watched any racing since the late 90's when Eurosport used to have XC, DH, 4X and trials over the weekend but I must say the course setup in Japan is pretty gnarly! Would love to have a track like that near me, self contained with a couple of drops, rock gardens and stuff!

My dad used to swear by older motors. Bus company he worked for had a 405 for odd jobs on 255k, he had a 405 estate on 155k when he sold it and he moved onto a 205 with a 405 engine with 135k He bought a 60 plate Golf estate a couple of years ago and it's the first car he's bought with less than 100k on the clock in over 25 years!
