Still in need of an update, the 26" hub and rim advice is what we were doing in the late 90's FFS!

That bird who was doing the fire act and singing last night was pretty good, would have been even better if they hadn't covered her tits up though!!

They all need loving!

Either get them returned and try and source a new middleburn, get an Inspired bashring suitable for 23t sprockets or do what I'd do an just get a new bashring an sprocket, will only be bout £25-35 depending on what bashring you get.

I approach whatever I'm jumping up quite slowly with bad pedal forward, push down on that to gain momentum lifting the front wheel then give my good foot a kick to backhop up if you understand what I mean?! There's a vid of me doin it on youtube if you wanna have a look, not sure if you'll be able to see clearly but may be worth a try, have a search for diddyb bathtub. Other than that look in the video section for the links in a post I started!

Think I rode here about 10 or 11 years ago at a trial when the blue class was MTB (not 100% sure though), got a video of it from Bike 99 I think somewhere at my dads house! Don't think I'll be fit enough or owt to compete but I'll deffo come down to watch, maybe spur me on to enter next time round once I know which class I'd be best in!

Right I've just been out down the road for a quick bod and I've come to realise that I need a new stem. When I was half pedalling onto some bathtubs at the farm the other day when I pulled back on the bars I found the bars slipping back, I tightened them up and thought nothing of it but just been jumping onto a tree stump which is a bit bigger and they were doing it again. The problem I have is my bars are old Azonic world force ones (9 years old) and all the trials stems are now oversized so if I get a stem I'll need some new bars as well which means big expense. So do I either get a normal MTB stem to match my bar size or splash out on new bars and stem? If I do that I'll probably go for a Trialtech Sport Forged stem but not sure which bars as really need to keep the costs down, any suggestions??

Looking very good mate, some real skill gone into the planning and building, I'm sure this wont be the last bike you build! Don't forget I was the first person to post I want one when you go into business!!

I've got an acer that I got about 5 years ago, 2ghz amd processor, i upgraded the ram to 4 as it was only 1 when I got it years ago (high at the time!) and stuck a 320gig HD an windows 7 on an its perfect. Never had any problems with it since I bought it and she's served some time an done some work I'll tell you. I can see why some people would avoid an acer but I can honestly say I'd have another tomorrow, although I too prefer netbooks, they're awesome!!

Yeah will get something posted, not sure on the quality of the riding though!!

Good stuff, thinking its the kind of thing I can always take out with me rather than planning days with ma mates where we're gonna take a camera.

Just ordered myself a Kodak ZX1 pocket camcorder, thought it would be perfect for capturing odd bits of footage as its small, can hold lots of memory an records in HD. Just wondering though if anyone else on here has one or knows someone with one and what they thought. Only gettin it cause its £50, was gonna get a proper camcorder like I used to have but found it a pain in the arse to take anywhere with the bag an discs an stuff. Any thoughts??

Best bet would be to get to one near home and see whats what. I might try an catch a few when the footy seasons over for a bit of fun!

Just out of interest, when you guys build a stack of pallets how do you fix them all together? Hoping to convince the inlaws to let me setup a mini arena at their farm as already got a few old tin bathtubs setup for gap-jumping (which are actually perfect for the job!) and there's a few lying around up there along with some metal girders and rail sleepers!

Wahey, finally got round to getting Chainspotting on DVD the other day and watched it last night. Takes me back a bit, remember first startin up doin trials when I saw it. Could watch it over and over again, I thought a lot of the trials would be outdated but there is quite a bit of stuff that is quite hard to pull off (for me at least anyway!!). Love it!

My 2 year old son loves this, always askin if he can watch it when he's tired an wants to chill out before bed!

Lookin out for a helmet as we speak but bit skint till payday. As for the back brake it's as good as it's gona get as cause the frames so old I struggled to get a rim small enough to fit between the calipers, think the distance from brake block face to face was 35mm, so had to do some customising on some offset clamps and the maggy v brake adaptor kit. Seatposts a pain as it tapers at the top so if it goes any lower you can't clamp it up but I've got a solution, gonna swap it with my dads hopefully if it's same size as it has been annoying me! Cheers for the comments, hopefully getting a cheap camcorder this week so will get some better footage up soon!

Been up at the inlaws farm today and found an old tin bath to play on so just did this, feel well unfit though!!

Just spent bout £400 on new everything except frame and forks and can't afford to blow £300 on a frame when the one I've got is still in mint condition. Not gonna go mad or owt, if I get to a point where I think I ride well enough to justify buying a new frame I may do but mortgage an bills come first at the mo but thanks for you input!

Well guys, its been a long time coming and I've realised how much I've lost with not riding for 9 years! Just been for a bod about round near where I live and theres nothing to ride, at least, nothing that I can ride! Ended up on a crappy little rock and a small wall round the corner but I've got a lot to learn (again) and gotta get a lot of confidence back. Mainly about technique as a lot of stuff I see you guys doing nowadays is very different to when I started so here it is, me and my cousin attemting to backhop up a small rock and my cousin up a wall. Bear in mind we are very rusty!! Will be going back to some old haunts soon once I get the bike rack for the car and hopefully get back into it soon enough! Any pointers are greatly appreciated!!

Yeah we usually stay bout 5 mins away from treaddur an holyhead but goin to other side of anglesey for a change of scenery. Will see what happens when we get there, if weathers shite I won't be doin owt but I know if the weathers good the missus likes the beach at treaddur bay so can shoot over there an have a ride round. Wanted to take bike last year but didn't have it rideable an didn't have room in the car! Cheers for info guys!!
-
Anyone ride/live round here that knows any good spots? Looking for anything at all really as going stopping in a holiday cottage there with my missus an son in August an hope to take the bike with me for a bit of entertainment.
-
Must be some good spots in stockport, once met a guy on the big steps between the shopping centre an the bus station having a bod about. There's a bike shop near bredbury that deals more in bmx stuff, they might know some good places to ride!

Well I've given up with it, can't tighten BB up as the splines have all but sheared off on one side and the tool won't reach over the axle on the other side. I've noticed that the crank bolts can be tightened up more an more everytime I ride for 5 mins or so, so thought it might just be the cranks slipping just slightly on the splines so will have to just take an allen key everywhere an keep tightening!
