  1. Nah its just the angle and the t shirt im wearing
  2. Cheers for replies guys, will just have to pull my finger out and sort picking these sleepers up! Got about 19 I think sat looking at me at work right now, been told I can take em all its just arranging it!
  3. Running 18/15 at the moment, not 100% on the height of the street sign I did but must have been +18" at least. Hopefully gettin hold of some railway sleepers soon (if I can get them picked up) so would you say its worth stacking them up and slowly increasing the height that way? Or even stacking some up as the approach to that box and taking them away as getting up gets easier? Reckon it should only take a few hours to sort if I can get the right technique and course setup!
  4. After making a small trials course yesterday, not much but good bit of practice, I fancy trying it back to front to practice dropping off with precision onto stuff and climbing up big obstacles. The problem is I tried going at it the wrong way but I just don't know how to approach the first bit, its a 3ft tall steel box. Pics of me dropping of it are here and I had a few go's and tried using a brick for a kicker at the bottom but everytime I failed miserably as I didn't have the confidence to go for it, just unsure what would be the best way to approach it, should I go for a half pedal or approach a bit faster, coast into it and try to hop up? Any advice at all would be great as this is whats currently limiting my riding ability, loads of walls and stuff nearby my gaff but I'd rather be able to jump up them on the bike than lift the bike up to have a play on top!
  5. I've got a longer Trialtech stem that I'm undecided on putting on yet as it means sticking some new bars on but might give it a try this week and see how it all feels!
  6. Here's a couple of vids I put together this weekend, nowt special just a bit of confidence building on my part on the good old Heavy Tools! First 2 are me half pedalling onto a street sign just over the road from where I live, never tried owt like this years ago as I was always scared of snapping something, either bike or body! And a short and a long vid of a basic trials course I setup today for a bit of practice at my inlaws farm, just a couple of tin bathtubs and a 3ft square steel box. Nowt massive but good for a bit of balance practice and dropping off. And I've got my helmet finally as well!!
  7. Here's a few pics of me dropping off a 3ft steaming cabinet I put at the end of a little trials course I made today for some practice and confidence building.
  8. Bloody poser! I could only afford STX-RC V's which were no better than canti's!
  9. Done a bit more today and yesterday so will get them posted, not brilliant but I can feel myself improving! Need to as well as I'm 27 now so my body starting to degrade!!! Vids are here and pics here!
  10. Too true, the only people who made trials specific parts were the riders bodging them out of other stuff. I remember gettin my dads mate to machine me a bashring out of stainless when I was about 14 (1997) to go on my 4 arm STX-RC cranks cause the only one I ever saw was the custom middleburn one made for Martyn Ashton! First frame I used for trials was a 15" one I got from some bike company who's catalogue was a giant leaflet you used to get in the back of MBUK and MBR mags! Who remembers Crud DCD chain tensioners??!!
  11. That worries me slightly!! Not too fussed bout the price as my parents said they'll throw some cash in to pay for it but thanks for the link, may have a look on ebay when I'm ready to order one. Another thing, anyone know the best place to get him a helmet or am I looking at Halfrauds??
  12. Yes matey old skool rider here although she's been rebuilt with a touch of the new. I stopped riding back in '99 and decided before christmas to get back into it although everything except my frame an forks basically were fooked so I rebuilt her with modern bits and I must admit it rides brilliant! My mates back riding with me on his ds1 as well! There's some pics of my bike in this thread
  13. Thank god we're back online! Been on nights this week an had nothing to do whilst you've been down!!
  14. I'm afraid I'm not a fan of the rain, besides, grinding your rims won't make your tyres grip on them slippy bars and slabs!
  15. Never was a fan of Monty's or Megamo's even years ago when they were the only proper cycle trials bikes you could get!
  16. Got final fantasy 7 for my psp as years ago I borrowed it off a mate and lost interest after a while, its worked out pretty good as playing it now I've got more patience on levelling things up and trying to complete it. On 3rd disc and got all mastered materia, everyone at level 99 and just beat emerald and ruby weapons. Did emerald without the underwater materia in under 7 minutes! I should really grow up!!

    Super Bargain!

I've got one and it is brilliant for the cash, perfect to chuck in your pocket everytime you go riding!
  18. Think I will do before we go to wales in the summer, tartys site says there a new Koxx coming out as the one on the site is being replaced so will hang for that I reckon, the Monty's got a front brake but I don't think he can quite get his head round that yet!
  19. Aye if thats the case definately avoid! You'd be better saving up and getting something like this from tartys, specing up a new build for them or yourself to knock up or looking for something 2nd hand on here in my opinion.
  20. I was just having a buzz round Tartys site and noticed the kids bikes section. Quite intrigued by the Koxx Nanoboxx and Monty 202 Pb as my missus says they're very good for kids to learn to balance and I'd never seen such a bike. Considering gettin one now for my 2 year old as he loves watching me on my bike and always trying to imitate me on his ride on Thomas by riding down the kerb and jumping up and down on it!! Anyone got or had one an can you recommend getting one??
  21. Hello - Lionel Richie, classic!
  22. Just out of interest what is a Kobe Tribal?? Searched on the net and can't find anything!
  23. I used to get this problem quite a bit, definately somewhere in the setup of your brake. Must be a bit of air in there somewhere or maybe not touching the rim very well/squarely. Don't want you to waste money on a disc when a bit of fiddling should fix you up. Besides, I've found more riders prefer a rim brake on the back than a disc as they tend to be better at biting!
  24. How much money you wanna spend an what kind of riding you looking at doing? Buying a front sus bike means the first thing you'll be doing is spending more money to get some new forks on it!
  25. Trust me to read this now I've already paid for a set of Viz forks off someone!! Mind you, I deffo won't be doin anything big enough to snap a pair of forks!!
