Does anyone actually fall for this crap? Why do they bother going through the hassle of signing up to put 1 spam message up?!!

I'd just buy a frame and use what you've got to build it up. Things like the hope hubs could even be used on new builds with some trials specific rims, if not those wheelbuilds would easily sell on ebay for money towards new parts!
-
Yep, may also qualify for a grant from the council if you play it right. Hope they put you in the right direction as I've wanted to go to that one at Barrow Farm but it's a bit of a trek from Buxton whereas if yours got the go ahead I could easily justify at least a couple of days a month, bet the local boys would be there quite often.

What Do You Think For A First Bike ?
isitafox replied to just-starting-out's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
If thats the case then I'd by the bike for £40 then get some maggies front and rear for it. 2 Evo adaptor kits is only £20 so probably worth the spend to have some decent brakes to start on which can be carried over when you get a new bike or frame in the future! -
I'm at the other end of Derbyshire but would make the odd trip down I reckon as some of my wifes family live in Ashby. To be honest, if your really after some advice on getting started up and what you would be needing you'd probably be best talking to the guys who run Essex Trials and Jump Centre at Barrow Farm down south, their website is here, worth giving them a ring or dropping an email for a bit of a heads up as it's basically the same kind of setup your planning. They only use 3 acres as well so I think you've probably got good potential for more than just trials sections, if you get hooked up with one of the trials clubs it could also become a venue for comps and stuff.

I love it! Might get my cat signed up, she's awesome at balancing on fences. Saw her do a 8ft drop off once then 180 an jump back up! (when she saw a dog!)

Try here, I've got a couple of the long sleeve adidas tech fit tops and they're great, especially when I go to the gym for a workout!

Cause you don't get validated for asking, you should get validated for making good posts which either help people out or show true interest in a subject rather than someone posting in the hope of being validated. When I signed up I didn't care about being validated, just wanted to get my head round the forum, the parts available and learn about where cycle trials was at after being out of it for such a long time and before I knew it I was a full member. Just out of interest have you read the guidelines? Not having a go or owt just so you know! Why I gave you a vote from one of your earlier posts, then read another one tonight and tried voting again cause I forgot I already had done!

You'll be able to pick up a decent spec 2nd hand bike from on here for that money, so will just be down to whats available at the time. Either that or build one up slowly over the next few months or so as money comes available! -

Will all depend on your budget at the time to be honest! -
Plus buying a mod that takes a 20" rear wheel is pointless as your gonna end up spending more money in the long run, get one with a 19" from the start!

Buy it, doesn't matter if it only lasts you a couple of months, at least its something to get the basics picked up on and it doesn't matter if you trash it! -
I did the same, reminds me of the Firefly family house! Anyone seen House of 100 Corpses or the sequel The Devils Rejects? More quality gorefests!

For a bit of quality 80's B movie genius it's gotta be Class of Nuke'em High, so brilliantly bad! And for something current, Kick Ass. Watched it last night with a few cans and my god its good!
-
Exactly what it says it is, when you get a grinder and grind the face of the rim. Some people do it to roughen up the surface and give the brake more to bite onto.
-
What tyre are you thinking of using? Never heard of a 2.7" tyre myself!
-
I know I'm just feeling lazy! Sat at work an got nowt else to do so could go and get it out my car and check, or I could stay in here eating rice crispies and drinking coffee till someone tells me!
-
Just checking as it says on tarty these can only be used on a frame where the mounts are square on to the rim as they don't use the plastic washer thingy so only adjust up and down rather than 360 degrees.
-
You'd probably be better off doing that to be honest, once you're validated you can have a good shop around. I just got a 26" frame that had a crack for £20, got the crack welded up for nowt and had it powdercoated for £30 and it's like brand new for very little money. Got some 2nd hand forks off here as well for £45, just goes to show that it can be done even on the tightest of budgets!

Wanting to order some Echo TR clamps for my Python build but I'm not sure if they will work or not, can anyone advise??
-
I was gonna suggest goin to a butchers or farmers an ask to use the hook they use to weigh meat! Only sayin this though cause inlaws are farmers, will be doin mine next weekend hopefully!!
-
I know what your sayin matey, but an even better idea is get the kids to join you! My 2yr old keeps tellin me he wants a bike and a helmet and some special gloves like daddy so he can bounce, balance trainer bike gets ordered tomorrow!!!! And as for lookin like a tit, I started losin my hair at 19 so when people see a bald 27 year old riding like I do they give me some funny looks an I feel better for it, shows it ain't just the kids who can cut it mehewd!!!

Lovin it, saw your post about the forks a few weeks ago an was dubious but that does look very nice! Reminds me of my old integra type r when I was gonna get a carbon fibre spoiler an just have the top of it painted so you could see the lovely carboness (real word?!) but not look out of place! Would love a trip to oz myself for a bit of sunny, chilled out riding, especially on that!
