It'll usually take a good few coats of paint stripper on a good painted frame, just stick loads on an leave it to work for a while. Doesn't hurt to clean the stripper off with a wire brush either.

Did they put the spacers on for free??

Yeah was thinking if you had a centred one then getting an offset one would cure it but obviously not if thats what you've already got. One last question for you, sorry to be a pain but this is really annoying me an wanna get it sorted for you, I know how pissed off I'd be if it were me! What is the width of the bottom bracket shell? It sounds like a different bottom bracket may be the cure, if the shell is 68mm then you're best finding a 68mm BB rather than a 73mm with a spacer and maybe running a 122.5mm length axle instead of 128mm. If you really want the best advice I'd ring up tartybikes in the morning and tell them your spec, they should be able to tell you what will work and then get hold of rock and roll bikes and tell them the setup they advised doesn't work and try and get a refund on the BB

You won't get a spacer on those tensiles and still have enough thread for the freewhell I reckon. What rear sprocket you using and what bottom bracket?

I'd still give the freewheel a proper flush out and just make sure the back wheel is nice and in line and the chain isn't too tight or loose. Not much else to go wrong on a single speed setup with no other cogs!

I may have to give these a try also, never liked foam grips as the feel of them makes me shudder but could be worth a try. I've got some bog standard echo rubber grips on my mod which I love, proper classic rubber grip feel and comfy too, so was thinking of getting some for my 26 as my inspired lock ons are a load of wank but may try some foams first!

How long have you had the hub for?? If you strip the wheel down and send it off to hope they'll fix it for you if not give you a brand new one free of charge usually!

We could have a winner! The first thing I'd suggest is remove the freewheel and then give it a monster degrease! When they're built they're packed with grease that tends to make the pawls stick and causes it to skip, if you can give it a good flush out with gt85 it should help.

Right, I find myself to be pretty clued up when it comes to computers and stuff but just want to double check as I'm taking my sis in law to get a new laptop tomorrow and don't wanna burn a load of cash she doesn't need to! She's currently got a Dell inspiron, 1.5gb ram, 80 gb HD, Intel processor (not sure how fast) which her and her 2 sisters have all been using for the last 5 years or so and it's basically knackered. Had so much stuff saved, deleted, installed, removed over the years it's about to die completely. Every time I go on it there tends to be messages saying there's under 200mb of hd space left as it's loaded with photo's and her schoolwork files and progs and itunes for her sister. It's gonna be used for her to sort her school stuff on as she's a teacher and for her sister and anyone else really to do any typing, printing, etc. I also think she should get an external hard drive, around 250gb to save all her photo's on and then I'll do a clean install of XP on the old laptop and maybe stick the ram upto 2gb purely for using itunes and browsing the net. Does this sound like a good idea or should I go for a different solution??

Chain wrap is how much of the chain is wrapped around the cog but I've noticed your riding a mod so that won't really apply to you, it's moreon stocks which have sprung tensioners. Right, can you upload a pic of your drivetrain to see as that may help a bit more, what type of tensioners do you use, cams, tugs, etc, and what freewheel are you running?

I bought some urban forks off here for my stock and they are what I assume is the older type as they have an echo sticker at the bottom of each fork as opposed to the E logo at the top like on my urbans on my mod. The thing is they feel like they flex a lot when I apply the front brake or hop about on the spot and I'm not sure whether this is normal, if its cause they are the older type and are made of bike cheese or simply that I've been riding my mod too much which has shorter therefore sturdier forks. Or could it be none of the above and simply be something to do with the wanky front mono mini?? I can get a vid up if required??
