  1. I run hs yellows on a smooth rim and they're awesome so assume they'd be even better on a grind!
  2. Sorry bout my abrupt answer mate but it did just sound like you were waiting for someone to approve of your choice before you ordered. It's purely down to what the rider likes really, lots of people like the trialtechs but thats probably the geometry of them more than the strength and the price, as for the tensiles I run I just rang tartybikes up and told them what I was after and my budget and they suggested them to me and they did a good job as they feel great! If your after some Echo's then get some, yes they are technically weaker than trialtechs but I personally don't know of any that have broken, and if they're the right shape for you then go for it, don't worry what everyone else thinks!
  3. Right hang on lets start again and make it easy for you The Echo bars are easily the best bars in the world x100. Definately get them and if anyone mentions trialtechs call them a c**t!! That better??
  4. Trialtechs are made of stronger aluminium
  5. Nah, stealthily in a bush. Nowt like the element of surprise!!!
  6. Go for the speedrace, if you can get a build anything like adams from tartybikes then your onto a winner!!
  7. Nope most riders run singlespeed, and most use the same ratio depending on setup. I believe for a 22t front chainring (assuming thats what you've got) you'd be best with an 18t rear cog, you could get a singlespeed kit, which consists of a bunch of spacer rings for the rear cassette, a single 18t cog and a chain tensioner. Or if you're planning on upgrading your rear wheel/hub in the near future I'd hold on and just get a fixed rear hub, new cranks, bashring, front freewheel, rear cog and tensioner then. How tight is your chain at the moment as that could be making the gears slip a bit?!
  8. Not sure how much it has to do with the components but getting sub 10kg with a frame that starts at 2¼kg is quite impressive!
  9. Single speed conversion, it's definately the way forward! As for backhopping forward and getting up stuff, thats what really takes a bit of time. As long as you start small and build up slowly it should come to you! Have you seen the Tricks And Stunts DVD?? Back when I started years ago I found some of the stuff on there very useful! http://www.amazon.co...D/dp/B000683VSO EDIT: Just seen your reply above and if your planning on getting a new hub then it's definately worth saving up and swapping your cranks as well to go for a front freewheel setup, best thing I ever did when I got my oldskool bike built up a few months ago!
  10. Oh yeah, I use the tensile 9d's as well which feel nice and are quite light!
  11. Good lad!! I hope you like them, how you finding the bike??
  12. A lot of people swear by Trialtech risers!
  13. Would see how the pads feel first, you may not need to but then again you might. What frame is it??
  14. Just have to go at it with some paintstripper!
  15. Pizza Boy, awesome oldskool 2d platformer!!!
  16. Any idea when the normal site will be up and running again??? EDIT; we're back!!
  17. Finally got hold of Dust Junkys album Done And Dusted and it is quality! MC Tunes, what a legend!!
  18. Get the Fans, the skull WILL snap!

    Ebay

Bored at work so had a search for trials on ebay and come up with some very interesting items and prices!! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/shogun-trials-bike-/200518072305?pt=UK_Bikes_GL&hash=item2eafcef7f1 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/26-inch-frame-reefer-mission-trials-bike-/130427503464?pt=UK_Bikes_GL&hash=item1e5e15c368 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/onza-T-mag-trials-bike-/150490830413?pt=UK_Bikes_GL&hash=item2309f3d64d http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BASE-TRIALS-BIKE-/260652565411?pt=UK_Bikes_GL&hash=item3cb01a83a3 God I'm bored!!

    Deng?

Suppose he does have a point, if a trials bike had to have a set amount of components it would be a bit more accurate but you've gotta think that people who run maguras have more components than those who use discs, and the same again for single speed against multi geared, and then you could run quick release skewers to add another component in, bar end plugs, seat, no seat, etc.....
  22. Not sure bout drivetrain but I think what Danny suggested gets mentioned a lot with 24's. Pic of the bike though is very nice so far!!
  23. Yes you need a +40 as the #5 is a 160mm not a 180mm
  24. Sounds like either its got a bit of air in and needs a bleed or you've contaminated your pads on something. I had the same problem with my mono mini, ended up selling it to find that the problem was the disc, don't know what happened to it but it just went awful!
