  1. Hiya mate, I'm not too far from you (other side of Buxton) and as far a natural goes I believe the best places are probably Matlock quarry and I think there's some good riding near hathersage. If you have a search of the rides forum you'll find the directions if I remember rightly. Hope that helps you a bit!
  2. Gutted I just got some fresh heatsink material as I'd have liked to try some phatpads, they were looking very good in them winners only gold backings on sunday! Roughly how long till the phluid is released as I'll definately give that a try?!
  3. Aye good old 11's! Will get them cleaned up and then fixed up with my RB lever, saves me having to go without a brake for a few days!
  4. Well I went at it, lever blades and calipers have been removed, crappy plastic lever bodies disposed of with the hosing which is definately well past it. Will bring some paint stripper and brake cleaner in tomorrow night and get them looking nice again. The joys of being bored!
  5. Will give this a try this week then after a few practice grinds!
  6. As I'm on nights again this week I get very bored so need something to do at work. I plan on bringing some old rims in at some point to practice grinding them but also I came across my old blue maguras in my dads garage. Purchased for about £10-15 each all of 12 years ago I really don't care if they went in the bin and they nearly did but I thought is it worth giving them a clean up again? The paints pretty knackered on them and the evo clamps are only fit for the bin but is it worth stripping them down, quick clean up with some nitromors on the calipers and maybe saving the lever blades for something. I run 05's at the moment which means the levers are no good to me really but could the calipers be saved and is it worth it??
  7. Stick at it, it won't all come back to you in an instant believe me!

    Get2

Anyone know where I can get a copy of or watch the first GET??
  9. I might have some in my tool box, if not I've definitely got an old set of clamps at my dads so I can get one out of them you can have as I'll never need them? Will have a look in a minute an post on here! EDIT: Just realised that I'm using the ones that came with my EVO2 kit for my +20 disc brake adaptor on my mod though like I said I should still have a spare knocking about from my old EVO1 clamps so will try and dig them out!!
  10. Yeah that'd be fine, it'll just be like running some standard clamps that way!

    Get2

Strange you should say that as I use my PS3 for all my dvd's and when I put GET2 in it always starts on the outtakes section no matter where I stopped it. Works fine other than that though!
  12. I only get out for a few hours a week so there's no worries there!
  13. Looking very nice, makes me wanna get a Meta myself!
  14. If you can hang on till your validated you'll have no problems finding a bike on here with that much, otherwise keep your eyes on ebay!
  15. Saw one of the new Onzas today and I can say that it looked very very nice!
  16. Not sure on whether it's right or not but I heard they sorted the leaks on the Echo brakes and the new ones are fine.
  17. Don't worry Mark, was gonna check out if there was a guide handy from you boys!!
  18. Aye will give it a go then, think I've got a couple of old Sun BFM's kicking around in my dads garage that have got more than enough thickness to withstand a few practice grinds! Think it's definately the way forward though, dropped more than a few points and a few 5's today cause my arm was so pumped up trying to pull the back brake on tight!
  19. Personally I'd go for the magura, can't really go wrong with one of the new HS11's. If you had said Echo SL though I'd have a completely different opinion as I reckon they're very very lovely to look at!
  20. Welcome Joe, and don't worry. We all did at some point!
  21. Practice, practice, pra....errrr sorry. Do you ride alone? I do and I find that slows my progression as riding with someone of similar talent or better than you always helps. I would recommend a mod, I bought one for a laugh on here and found I could do more stuff on it, not big but it helped teach me the techniques I needed being lighter, steadier on the back wheel and flickier in general. If you can I'd just look for a cheap onza on ebay until you're validated, how much have you got to spend?
  22. Right after doing a comp today and possibly being the only non disc rider to have smooth rims I've decided to stop being a girl about it and give the rear a grind. The only problem is I don't know anything about grinds so don't know where to start, I hear people saying about light, sharp, medium and have no idea what each is like so what should I go for to run heatsink yellows on??
  23. Awesome day today at the last round of the cup and glad to meet a few new faces whilst I was there. I've just arrived at work after landing home an hour ago, absolutely knackered and will be aching tomorrow but was well worth it. Big thanks to everyone who helped organise and Mr Swales for letting me tag along with him today. Definately opened my eyes for next year in terms of routes and bike, just gotta wait for the new season to start now.
