  1. Not sure on whether it's right or not but I heard they sorted the leaks on the Echo brakes and the new ones are fine.
  2. Don't worry Mark, was gonna check out if there was a guide handy from you boys!!
  3. Aye will give it a go then, think I've got a couple of old Sun BFM's kicking around in my dads garage that have got more than enough thickness to withstand a few practice grinds! Think it's definately the way forward though, dropped more than a few points and a few 5's today cause my arm was so pumped up trying to pull the back brake on tight!
  4. Personally I'd go for the magura, can't really go wrong with one of the new HS11's. If you had said Echo SL though I'd have a completely different opinion as I reckon they're very very lovely to look at!
  5. Welcome Joe, and don't worry. We all did at some point!
  6. Practice, practice, pra....errrr sorry. Do you ride alone? I do and I find that slows my progression as riding with someone of similar talent or better than you always helps. I would recommend a mod, I bought one for a laugh on here and found I could do more stuff on it, not big but it helped teach me the techniques I needed being lighter, steadier on the back wheel and flickier in general. If you can I'd just look for a cheap onza on ebay until you're validated, how much have you got to spend?
  7. Right after doing a comp today and possibly being the only non disc rider to have smooth rims I've decided to stop being a girl about it and give the rear a grind. The only problem is I don't know anything about grinds so don't know where to start, I hear people saying about light, sharp, medium and have no idea what each is like so what should I go for to run heatsink yellows on??
  8. Awesome day today at the last round of the cup and glad to meet a few new faces whilst I was there. I've just arrived at work after landing home an hour ago, absolutely knackered and will be aching tomorrow but was well worth it. Big thanks to everyone who helped organise and Mr Swales for letting me tag along with him today. Definately opened my eyes for next year in terms of routes and bike, just gotta wait for the new season to start now.
  9. Nope, actually looks like a proper email. Got loads of links to various stuff to do with the airline though like online check in and so on but I went to the actual website for spirit airlines and put in the record number and surname in to check and amend the booking details and it says that they don't match up, which makes me think that no tickets have actually been booked. Will have to hang on till Monday then and see what happens! Well my email addy is aol as well so I assume there's more than a few Americans with a similar address!
  10. Right I've just checked my emails and I've had one come from spirit airlines that looks like booking info for a couple with the same surname as me from montego bay in Jamaica to fort lauderdale. Should I be concerned?? It says the payment was made by visa an the only visa cards I have are my debit cards which ive checked online banking and there's been no payments taken, and my credit card which arrived yesterday and has been activated but never used. Hmmmm???
  11. No I don't think sintered are really suitable for trials use. There's a good description of pad compounds at pink bikes here http://www.pinkbike.com/news/brake-pad-information-2009.html
  12. I'm the same, want either a Born, Slate II or FANS. Worried that the Borns a bit long though?! This looks very nice though!!
  13. It's been a while now and I'm not sure what to wear for the comp on Sunday. Jeans, trackies or shorts???
  14. I don't feel quite at home on the frames I've had so far, when I got my zenith after riding the heavy tools it felt great for a while but I think thats down to the fact that it was a "proper" trials frame so doing the basics like backhopping and the like felt a hell of a lot easier than what I was used to. The Control's geo is very similar to the Zenith in terms of length and BB rise so there's not much difference since getting that built up but I don't feel at home like I do on my mod. It could be the fact that after all these years I've just realised that I'm a mod rider not a stock but I'd like to have a crack on something with a high BB first before I fully make that decision. I know some people will say that buying a £400 frame is a waste of money just to find I'm still not happy but if I'm willing to spend the cash then there should be no problem!
  15. Lookin forward to seeing how you've improved.
  16. As it's already been tapped out to an M6 I'm afraid he can't helicoil it to a M5 as the hole is too big already!
  17. +1, looking awesome. Will that cater for mod/24 as well or are you gonna make a different one??
  18. I meant put a washer under the head so it spreads across the whole of the top of the clamps. Thats all I can suggest I'm afraid!

    Get2

Is some of this filmed in Leeds??
  20. Bit high for me, to be honest the Slate II is top end of my budget if you could get it. I was really looking towards either the FANS, Born or Bow 2.5 but I'm not a fan of the graphics on the Neon and before I pick one I need to try and blag a feel of some other peoples bikes to see what a high BB on stock feels like. Definately think it's the way forward for me though.
  21. Stick a washer under the head??
  22. I was the same but put off by v's. Sadly tartybikes have sold out so I won't be able to use my vouchers for that. It would be nice though!
  23. Have you just retracted a bid on ebay for one?? Cause someone has!!!
