Quality vid that mate, really enjoyed it! It's never the right time to start again in england! And I told you you should have kept a bike!
  2. Almost kind of a bit OT here but is there any new stock frames looking at being released between now and January?? Will be after one but wanted a SlateII, so currently considering a FANS, Meta or Born but wondered if you'll be getting anything else in that kind of price range??
  3. Alright cheers mate, did a comp the other week for the first time in 10 years and it almost killed me but was a good laugh. Only probably got another 2 years to compete before I'm too old so gonna give it a proper go next season, you should have a crack yourself. Barely any lads on the forum actually do any comps and it's such a laugh and good practice, have you got the bike yet??

  4. Taking all this in, may try some foam grips aswell as currently using echo rubber ones which are a bit hard and thin!
  5. Is there anything that can be done with a front disc brake though as I found that was more of a problem??
  6. How did I know you'd pipe up at somepoint about switching to bloody V's!!!
  7. This is an interesting thought, will give it a try when I get the brake rebled and setup! Very good advice, I used to do quite a lot of wristcurls but stopped going to the gym in January so that could be one contributing factor! As for the powerball I've been playing with mine this afternoon, found it in the back of my locker hence the idea for the topic, but the dial has dropped out a while ago so I may have to get another to do that 90sec challenge thing! And I'll give the flowing through a section thing a try, though the trial I did recently was mostly tight twisty climbs up a steep banking so was a proper hop fest to get up, and in a foret where the floor was covered with acorns meant you had to hold the brakes on for dear life!
  8. That's an interesting one and free, will have to give it a go!
  9. Can anyone give me some good tips on how to minimize the amount of arm pump I get off my brakes? When I did that comp a few weeks ago by the end of the day I was really struggling to hold onto the bars cause my forearms were that pumped, there must be some measures I can take to stop this?? The brakes I have are front hope trial (old style) with 180 rotor and rear maggie with 2 finger lever, HS yellows, oil bleed and smooth rim. I have recently ground my back rim though but not really had a chance to try it yet and ordered a 4 finger lever but will a water bleed also help reduce things? Is there anything I can do to the front to stop it happening as I found that was the worst of the two! I am actually considering swapping back to dual maggie, would that help?
  10. I may be up for this possibly depending on dates!
  11. Ah, that is on the weld where the chainstay joins the bottom bracket
  12. Flip a coin, everyone on here will give you a different answer because each brake setup is individual to the rider. You may find the Phatpads awesome whereas I might try them and they'd feel awful, I think it's a well established fact that asking for pad advice on here only causes arguments so just order one and try them, if they're not what you expected then sell them and try the others. It's the only way you'll find what works best for you. Personally I use heatsinks, though these are the first pads other than magura koolstops I've ever used so I've nothing to compare them too. Hope this helps you!
  13. Post us a pic and I'll tell you
  14. Sod that! Ordered a bleed kit yesterday so will probably nip to the old mans work and steal a litre or so of anti freeze from there to bleed with. Got a RB lever as well for connecting up so that'll have to have some oil in it!
  15. Right seen as Christmas is fast approaching I'm looking toward what I'm gonna purchase framewise. However, seeing as I currently ride modstock I'll need a new rear wheelbuild to go with said frame so I may get this bought in advance, I'm just not sure what to go for. My previous build was a full Echo TR wheel which going off tartybikes listings comes up at 1013g plus the spokes, I'm looking toward shaving some weight off my next build so would like to try something a bit lighter but that will still take some hammer and fit a frame with cams. Anyone got any suggestions for a lightish setup? I'll be running a grind as well if that makes any difference!
  16. This is the truth, we used it years ago as there was no other option really. I have yellows on both my bikes with a smooth rim on my mod and light grind on my stock and both work great!
  17. Would love to bring the laptop in and have a play myself as I've got all the time in the world but this is classed as a safety critical job there's a ban on LOADS of stuff, not allowed to bring in or have turned on radios, phones, laptops, dvd players, tvs, etc, etc.... but most have a radio they chuck in the locker when people come to the box. They give us restricted acces to the net though to stop us sleeping on nights but not allowed near youtube, facebook and the like so it's not much of an incentive to be awake really. Hence the reason I'm on here for 7-8 hours most days!
  18. Railway signaller, scandalously good job for the wages to work ratio but if you don't bring something to do with you it can get boring, especially round here! I have got Blue and Silver in a box in the loft, got all of them on the Blue as well but as I left them for so long without playing the batteries are completely dead so you can't save the game. Tried a while ago but no luck, and I can't justify buying a DS as I used to have one and a PSP but sold both cause I never used them!!
  19. Should be yeah, don't see why not.
  20. Absolutely LOVE that road!! And when it joins onto the A85
  21. Well if it isn't already obvious I've started this thread because I'm B-O-R-E-D! Having an unbelievably steady job like this is sometimes a godsend but other times a right pain in the arse! The last few hours have dragged like mad in here, mainly cause last week on nights I brought bike stuff in to play with whereas today I have nothing. Due to this other than putting a £40 order in at Tartybikes which probably wasn't necessary I've managed to eat almost a full pack of digestives, 4 massive pieces of flapjack, an apple, 2 tins of tommy soup with a tin of tuna mixed in and 4 plain burgers. Also managed a shoulder and bicep session with my dumbells and watched GET2 again on my phone, roll on 10pm!!
