  1. If you definately want to stick to maguras then go for the 2011 HS11's, same price as the 2005's and less chance of the lever snapping on you. Don't bother splashing out the extra ££ on 2011 33's!
  2. Not sure what the front end setup is but if it hasn't got risers investing in some would be a good idea. As for the chain slippage at a guess I'd say it's down to not enough chain wrap on the rear cog and the chain not being tight enough. It's a bit harder to get this right with gears so you could do with a single speed kit and chain tensioner, if your front cog is 22t I think you'll be needing a 18t at the rear to get the right ratio (someone correct me if I'm wrong). Hope this helps you a bit dude!!
  3. Alright mate, hope everythings ok with it?!

  4. PM Mods, they tend to do it every couple of months or so when they've got a few name change requests apparently.
  5. Yep get your backhops nailed next, it's the basis of a lot of trials stuff so you'll need it though you may find it a bit harder to learn on your frame as I think there's no bottom bracket rise. That means when your backhopping your weight will be quite far forward which in turn will lead to the front wheel dropping so easily when you drop off something. Your best bet is learning to backhop on a slight hill, the angle of the ground will help you to get your weight more central over the rear wheel.
  6. For the amount it would cost just buy a 2nd hand bike off here. Think Matt Vandart may have an Ashton, try sending him a PM!
  7. Read the rules before you post, only validated members are allowed to buy and sell on the forum.
  8. Sorry dude, far too cheap for the condition they're in and no selling to members until they're validated!

  9. Fraid not mehewd, what you commited there was fraud. If there was a way around it then everybody would be doing it don't you think?! Best hope your sister doesn't get busted as she could have a large bill or even worse a criminal record as a result!
  10. Good to here you've picked a bike, is it a brand new one?
  11. If you brakes are working then go for the stem, no rules stating you have to ride with maguras. Ask Matt Vandart!
  12. TF is suddenly broken for me, can't access any of the forums, can only get on the threads shown on the main page!
  13. No gears don't limit you, as long as at least one of them is the right ratio then there's no problem other than fannying around with shifters and cables. Single speed kits are simple to use, simply remove cassette, slide on spacers and single chainring, set tensioner up and your done!
  14. Yup got a Kodak zx1 I think it is, records in 720p hd an does a great job of it to! Good to hear you got it sorted!
  15. Welcome matey, good to see another member of the oldskool making a return! Not too much has changed when you get down to it really other than there's no longer any seats, singlespeed all the way (with a front freewheel) and disc brakes are frighteningly affordable. Hope you find yourself a decent bike and enjoy your return!
  16. Looking good young man, wasn't a big fan of the limey to be honest but it looks nice when someones riding it. As for the sidehop, do you land on your front wheel when you do them? I find myself doing it and it un-nerves me a bit but wasn't sure if thats how they're supposed to be!
  17. Cheers Mark, considered having a go at building a wheel in the future but I think if I ever do I'll order the right bits for the job at the time then. At least I can sort getting a front wheel ordered and send this off to be built up now, just gotta decide on a frame to put it on!!
  18. I've just stripped my echo tr front wheel down so the hub can be sent back to tartys to be rebuilt in a new wheel and just wondered if it's worth keeping the old spokes and nipples from the wheel. Will they come in handy for anything, can they even be reused safely?? And another thing, as it was a disc front wheel one side of the hub was built with straight spoke (is this radial?) and where they go through the hub they've left little humps all the way around as if the spoke was so tight it was almost pulling through the aluminium, if you understand that, is it safe to be rebuilt? I only got the wheel built up at the start of the year and it's not been ridden much, maybe once or twice a week for a couple of hours if I'm lucky!
  19. Remember that at the end of the day if you've got a bike with gears you can always get a single speed kit!
  20. I'm not entirely sure on how much trials you want to ride as being able to manual easily doesn't really help all that much. If it's just pure street bmx type stuff then your best bet would be something like an Onza Zoot if you don't want to spend much or splash out on an Inspired. Though if your not that bothered about sticking to 24" then why not just get a T-rex like your mates if you find it that easy to ride?
  21. Thats what I'm worried about, scoured all the usual resources and hoped someone on here might know better! Oh well, I'm sure there'll be another bike or pram going cheap I can steal some off!!
  22. My son has a kids balance bike that runs plastic mag wheels with solid rubber/foam type tyres and they're absolutely knackered as he's hammered it. He's due to move upto a proper pedal bike soon but I'll be saving this for his younger brother to start out on so I'd like to get some new tyres on it ready. The problem is as its got solid ones at the moment I don't know if the rim will be suitable for drilling a hole for an innertube valve and fitting some proper tyres so does anyone know where I can buy some 10" wheels that will take proper tubes and tyres??
  23. +1 That'll get your heatsinks working!
  24. Nice centre spread in this months Trial Magazine Mike and good to see the pads in there. Surprised you managed to get through to John as he's been pretty useless when I've dealt with him!
