  1. I wanted a Hello Dave last year but they were out so ended up with a Big Dog instead
  2. Yeah they're definitely asbestos but all seem to be in decent condition. Gonna line the garage with 2x2, insulate with polystyrene boards then plywood on top and will probably do the roof as well so will hopefully be safe then. Eventually will replace the roof/garage altogether but while it's in good condition I'm gonna try and stick with it till funds allow.
  3. @monkeyseemonkeydo it's actually really clean inside considering!
  4. We start rewiring end of January, absolutely bloody dreading it but will be so much better afterwards! Started attacking the garden the other night with the kids. Need to uncover the garage as the wiring on that will be getting sorted and it was just generally out of control. Should have taken a before picture but this is the back of the garage after hacking away at the ivy, it grew out as far as the edge of that pallet and the growth on the roof generally gives an idea of what it was like! Then carried on down the side of the garage and took out a load of conifers, the space we've gained is unbelievable and my plan now is to remove two of the concrete panels (the window on the far left and panel to the left) and fit the door there once the side is fully cleared. Rest of the garden will have to wait a couple of weeks but the shed wants pulling down (before it falls on it's own) and just need to touch up the summer house for my daughter to play in. Plan on fitting a pull-up bar somewhere when it starts to warm up a bit too!
  5. After joining the group on their Facebook page it sounds like a bad batch has gone out as quite a few people had the same problem. At least he didn't get it as a Christmas present or Christmas day would have been terrible
  6. Son ordered a Clicbot (https://keyirobot.com/en-gb) with money he's been saving for over a year, arrived today and bloody thing won't turn on or respond to being plugged in. Pissed off cause my son is absolutely distraught and now we're gonna have to wait days to hear back from them and who knows how long to sort it out.
  7. Been a bit quiet as been really busy but we're all moved in now. Spent the first two weeks sorting stuff that the previous owner left behind, constant runs to the tip and charity shop and going back and forth to the farm clearing rooms out. Done a few minor jobs like changing most of the light fittings to single pendants (almost every room had multi arm lights with halogen bulbs just burning money) but got a lot of work to do. First big job will be a rewire, the dining room has no light fittings whatsoever, the bedrooms have off centre pendants on old multi-strand fabric covered cables (apart from our bedroom which has had the cable pulled out so again no light fittings) and every room has just two single plug sockets in opposite corners. After that it will be repair the two chimneys and strip and replaster the two bedroom walls which are bubbled and crumbling from the leaks. Side mission for me that won't require a tradesmen however will be line/insulate the concrete panel garage, fit a door to the back and get my bikes down here!

Was thinking the same as I remember that first time round hit you like a tonne of bricks!

The whole problem with the natural immunity thing is that if the governments stepped back and said we're not going to do anything, we just need to let the virus run it's course the backlash would be insurmountable. As far as the government is concerned every decision is a wrong decision in someone's eyes so they've got to pick what they consider to be the least problematic (in terms of reactions) choice and just grit their teeth.
  10. I think you've found the strong mount you were looking for. Sadly something has got to give! This is why I prefer standard IS mount rather than post.

Bit of a skim read but I get the idea he's saying we shouldn't be mass vaccinating and should let the virus do it's thing so we develop natural antibodies against it rather than giving it reason to keep mutating and make it potentially more dangerous but more so keeping it in circulation?
  12. Absolutely love it! Can't wait to hear how they feel on the bike. Does make me wonder how they'd perform on a trials wheel as well?
  13. Sorting out bills and accounts for a new buyer is f**king painful
  14. Don't worry it's being worked on, minor issue over the weekend meant Danny had to upgrade the board so he just needs to tweak a few of the new bits again
  15. Highlight of my morning so far, watching a lad in a RWD Jag trying to get off his driveway/sideroad. Kept getting a decent run up then stopping just before the junction so he couldn't get started again. After about half an hour of trying the exact same routine he gave up and parked back up

    Covid19

The conspiracy theorists who keep banging on about evidence showing this and that and then linking to webpages as if what is written on the internet is set in stone make me chuckle. I had a local woman rant at me on FB when it all kicked off stating that there was all this evidence that covid was a hoax and she'd happily send me copies of the PDF she'd found online to prove it. Never realised only top government officials had the power to write a letter and convert it to PDF......
  17. Just giving myself something to do when it's quiet
  18. I'm dreading moving next month, worst possible time to start up a new contract with someone!
  19. Been over a week now Ads, need an update! (this thread has become one of my highlights when I'm bored and want something to read!)

This, must admit I absolutely loved original lockdown (though the weather played a big part in that )

    Covid19

All caught in the last 2-3 months, one sister in law was pretty bad with it on her chest and struggles to do too much a month later as she gets out of breath (37,would say relatively healthy but doesn't do a significant amount of exercise), other sister in law had no symptoms but tested positive when the family she childminds for all got it (early 20's, healthy and quite fit as she does a lot of walking and working on the farm). Other 3 are all my kids age 13, 11 and 7. Eldest had a really stiff neck which we thought was down to an injury he got trampolining at school but tested positive after it still hurt a week later and still got no taste or smell. Other two started with headaches this weekend just gone and migraine symptoms, elder got cough as well and younger got sore throat but generally don't feel too bad. I think the type of vaccine has an effect also as most of the people I know who have had it whilst vaccinated and been bad have had Astra Zenica whereas we've all had Pfizer.
