  1. On the lookout for a front brake for my Adamant and happened across these on eBay https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F254025532459 I don't plan on investing but wondered if anyone had seen them or used them before. Research suggests Promax is a bit of a cheap and nasty company for budget bits so I'm not expecting anything amazing but £38 for a new brake isn't bad even as an entry level option!
  2. Anyone know roughly what will/won't work with a D521 due to the narrow profile? And does anyone have a pair of said compatible forks available??
  3. I loved my mk1 Zoot. The geometry was great (for me) and I'd happily have another one. The only thing that needs changing (assuming they're still the same) is the forks as they're steel and weight and absolute tonne. Set of Inspired forks or some Echo Urbans will do the job!
  4. Nah you'll be fine on a 24 mate just a case of working out what feels right regarding stem and bar setup
  5. Bike is filth, red Hope hubs on D521's with matching skewers, road cassette and mech on gripshift, tensile cranks, V12 pedals and sketchy as f**k USE forks. Forks are disc mount however and front wheel isn't so will have to source some suitable replacements and get another magura to match. Or strip it and sell the sellable bits.... Ooorrrr ride it with a rear brake only like a hero
  6. Literally no idea on the spec but got hope skewers by the looks of things so hoping so
  7. Mate of mine just posted on FB giving away his old Adamant for nowt so I thought sod it! Gonna pick up tomorrow, should be interesting
  8. Just blagged this old beauty off a mate for the princely sum of free!
  9. I've been thinking of building one up myself recently, got a weird desire for a Hex. Looks tidy!

    Grips

Just wondered if anyone on here has used foam trials grips on their mtb and if so, how did/do you find them?
  12. I love how having not properly looked on here for years the good old T Pro is still going strong as the go to starter/budget bike build. Looks clean
  13. Even when I was more active on here they were like hens teeth to get hold of, does anyone still do a thick foam grip nowadays as all the thick options on Tarty seem to be out of stock?
  14. Der Kaiser for me, immense grip
  15. Actually managing to get out on my bike at least once a fortnight and having fun randomly exploring local trails rather than my standard loop. Jamis now got some new tyres after a year, high roller front and aggressor rear, pro 4 on the back and looking at some new bars. Need to do something with the front end as it's running 100mm qr and flexes like f**k and the current setup leaves my arms shaken to bits on long descents.
  16. Would probably be bolting through. I've got access to a magnetic industrial drill we've used for hanging 3m high shed doors at the farm I live on so that shouldn't be a problem. Thanks for the advice!
  17. To be a bit more descriptive here's two possibilities I mean, the first is using 2 end supports and 2 near the middle (the pink lines) and the second is using three supports along the length.
  18. My local gym has got a steel rig made by the previous owner which is huge. The new owner is looking at getting some pullup bars fitted to it going off my advice but I'm not sure if it is going to be doable in terms of strength. Could any engineer type folk advise if it would be possible to have a pullup bar (custom made) mounted where the yellow line is in the pic attached? It would obviously require braces above and below to hold it up but I'm not sure if a combination of the two (due to the shape of the rig) will be sufficient. The bar would be 33.7mm and could be split into 4/5 sections but would need to sit at least 600mm from the rig itself.
  19. You need a dedicated parts in a lift IG account
  20. Thought they were the same just different axle and end caps
  21. Looks like the days of riding at Matlock Quarry are coming to an end! https://www.derbytelegraph.co.uk/news/local-news/500-new-homes-derbyshire-town-1702604
  22. Yeah sounds like that, I've had to replace 3/4 door locks so far and used cheap copies off eBay for each. Ballache of a job but needs must
