  1. Right, not really done much to this since the end of last month, but finally gotten around to fixing the rear puncture this morning, Although, both front AND back break are shagged. But, it's all in one piece at the moment, and it's sunny so im gonna get ready and ride into town to see how bad the buckle on the rear wheel is, and to see if this new BB is in properly. Will update with new pics later on i reckon
  2. We're starting to look like a bike again. The front V system seems shagged, will have to replace once the back wheel is straightened and back on, then it's ready to ride! Dug out my old BMX seat to replace the haggard old seat that came with the bike
  3. looks pretty slick mate, gj the only thing i do have to say is the white grip dont really fit with the rest of the colour scheme you've gone for,
  4. you'll never get the frame AND the pizza in the oven.
  5. haha yeah, i'd love to have that kind of set up, but unfortunatly i live on a student bursarie. So a cheap job will have to do till i will the lottery
  6. Well i'm almost finished repainting this, Just got a few more coats of laquer to go on then i can start putting things back together. Awaiting my green coloured pads for the V system on the front, to match the green grips. Considering more green in other places, but still not 100% sure untill i've got the bike together. To cover up some of these blemishes, Can someone suggest some types of decals to go on the frame?, If i decide to take that route i'd want something subtle, nothing outlandish Pictures to follow
  7. good stuff mate, any more vids planned?
  8. first couple of coats are on, there a few little blemishes where i've rushed, but these can be orted with a bit of sanding down and redoing, Decided on Satin Black to be safe, and the blemishes dont show too much. Get a few more coats on it tomorow and see how that takes. Here's a couple of shots, sorry about the quality of these, they're taken off my mobile phone.
  9. I posted this in the other topic which is similar to this one, but incase you missed it, here's the link to the page on wiki about wheel size http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/wiki/Choosing_a_bike
  10. s'up bro, http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/wiki/Choosing_a_bike That should see you right, have a look at the rest of the wiki also, some interesting pages on there to get you started
  11. Well I think i'm just going something dark, so if i do make a mess of it, it wont be horribley visable
  12. Here are the pictures as promised, although they're nothing exciting- they're still pictures non-the-less My new grips are here, New seat is on it's way. Bottom bracket is out, now i can get on with the fun stuff!
  13. And it's out! going to give her a good sanding down now and string her up ready for some nitromors and primer. Glad the hardest bit is over!
  14. urgh no one wants to touch it at all, goin got see my mate at the Renualt repair hopefull he might have something industrial sized to use on it Considering seppuku at the minute http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seppuku
  15. an old mission reefer with a buggered bottom bracket
  16. Well i've just hauled the frame up to the local DIY man at the top of the road, Three of us working together couldn't get the damn thing to move. He suggested heating the frame up around the bracket (which im not to sure i can do on my own). So i think i might have to ring around a few more repair shops and see if i can find someonewho can do this job THIS WEEK before i throw the bike off a cliff
  17. Aye tried both clockwise and anti-clockwise and it's not budging, i'm going to blast it a few more times with this penetrating lube spray then give it another bash after curry
  18. This bottom bracket is NOT moving.
  19. Crank exstraction tool works a treat. Although i'm having trouble getting the cartridge out, the bottom brack removal tool fits as it should, but it is NOT budging on either side. I've blasted it all with a bit of lube and rust removal, hopefull it'll losen it up a bit, but atm i cant see me getting the bottom bracket out with the help of ten strong men.
  20. that's the other tool i'm led to belive. gonna have a crack at it this evening, might even fix the rear puncture as well. Living the dream on a monday night.
  21. Here's a small update for where i'm at currently. Took the push-iron into the local cycle repair shop, says he 'cant do it till xmas'. (the crank) So i've gotten hold of the bits, or what i think are the bits as i've never done this kind of job before. I've got: Bottom bracket removerA new bottom bracketSome kind of tool that looks like it helps move the thread out with the bracket removergrease. Whilst i was there, i picked up a new quick release bolt for the seat (if i ever decide to put it back in). And a good puncture repair kit. Any advice on removing this crank? Big job?, or can a monkey like me pull it off?
  22. good stuff if you've got access to pallettes and other such things, try sorting a lie in the back garden and go from one obstacle to the next. more videos as well please
  23. s'up Before i discovered what trials was, many moons ago. We used to ride our mountain bikes here and there, but we're more interested in what would could wheelie off, or do an endo onto. The first time we managed to get up on an endo, and swing the back wheel around and touch down then ride away was more a less a turning point, i ditched the mountain bike and picked up a cheap onza tbird (iirc). Everyone starts somewhere mate, if you've pretty much got a nack for how a bike works, stopping and starting, you're practically ready to move onto new stuff with your new bike
  24. ok. Even if you are being serious, which i hope you're not (and just trolling instead), where did this event take place?, what was suss about it? did you get descriptions of your suspects and the bike? I hoodie, therefore i am.
  25. Change of plan, Bike is being put back togther into a rideable state and taken to a local old timer to have a look at my crank in the morning, Whilst that's being done over in town i can have a look at some decent colours and pick up some nitromors! Might take the oppurtunity to pick up some gloves and a helmet whilst i'm in the area
