  1. Someone's just PM'd now and might be coming along, the more the merrier really, hopefully it'll just be a chilled ride to have fun on like usual really, I should be extra extra carefull as I leave for Los Angeles for six weeks on Thursday, its got me slightly worried especially after watching about 6 episodes of Scarred on MTV back to back, not ideal..

I liked it Good insight into the shop and owner although lots of BMX shops are run that way these days, best way to go about it, good none the less! That plaza looks pretty sweet, the one in Cambridge is about 1/10th the size if that and is pretty dire, such a shame, the better and bigger it is the more people will ride it and the more use it'll get, obviously the more money it'd take too but you could always plan an easily upgradable Park layout that you could extend as far as the demand and budget allows each year or so, thats the best way to go about it
  4. So... It was basically impossible to knock it out with a mallet, I knew what kind of tool I really needed I just didn't know if such a tool existed, well it turns out it does exist and my next door neighbour happen to have one: I held two of the arms just in place on the frame so that it wasn't covering the bearings themselves, he held the other one while tightening at first with his hand then with an adjustable spanner so it went on to the frame like this: This is what a top view of the setup looked like: As expected it was in really, really tight, I'm pretty sure no grease at all was used when originally putting the bearings into the frame so to get the first bearing out it was tough, after that I popped the spindle back into the other side and popped that one out too (which was slightly easier) The end result being: Got there in the end!
  5. I thought this might be the case, I just didnt know what points of the frame to rest on the solid surface as not to dent or bend it, its a pretty weird shaped frame..
  6. Hey people, I was wondering if any of you guys out there with 2011/12 Echo or ZOO! frames with the Echo Urban ISIS BB's have any experience with removing them from the frames? I'm trying to remove my 2011 ZOO! Piranha's BB and currently having no joy what so ever, I've been told by people that the correct method is basically knocking it out with a mallet by hitting the spindal from one side then once you get the bearings out of that side pop the spindle back in and do the same to the other side too. Sounds easy enough but myself, my brother and now a friend have all tried wacking it as hard as we dare and it hasn't budged! I'm basically using a mallet that looks like this: Then placing a block of wood over the ISIS Spindle and hitting it while holding the frame across my legs or held onto grass with a hold dug for the spindle and bearing to fall into. Has anyone removed these type of bottom brackets before? How easy did you find it? Do you have any other tips than those mentioned? Really want to get this done today so I can send off the BB to be fitted on a new frame tomorrow. Cheers Olly.
  7. Cheers, Yea I've never been able to bring myself to sell my trials bikes, either of them! I just couldn't do it unless I was super desperate for the money, they're pretty much a part of my life however often they may or may not be used
  8. So I haven't rode my trials bikes more than a few times a year in the past few years but recently I've been having the strong urge to get back into riding so I decided to get the bikes back out again.. Now I'm starting to remember the joys of riding trials again and heres why! I go to the shed to check the status of my mod and stock bikes and find both bikes needed all brakes bleeding, I have no bleed kits so I went ahead and bought a magura one from Heatsink Bikes to sort the rear maguras out, upon bleeding the first brake I find that the seal has gone bad and sticks in so I have to replace the lever body with a front magura instead and re-bleed, I then buy a cable disk for the front of the stock as I couldn't be bothered faffing around with sorting out getting the front Avid and Hope disks bled, I set that up once it arrived so both brakes on my stock are now sorted, I'll leave the mod as it is for the time being.. First ride goes well and I manage to get some good riding done, trouble was the front brake has zero power so I was basically left with only a rear brake for that ride, I buy some new pads to sort the issue before the next ride, the day after my back/arms/legs etc are all killing as my muscles arent used to the rigors of trials, most specifically my back as I found I was leaning over so much with my long bike and low stem. I decide to try a different stem and see if that helps, I manage to dig out an old style Zoo! mod stem, it looks and feels wierd at first but turns out to be really nice and helps my body position on the bike too, on my first taster ride around the village I was doing most of the big-ish things I could ever remember doing before and it felt great! ...right up until I snap my mech hanger off. I walk home and root through my spares to find that the guy I originally bought the bike from in 2008 had supplied a spare one with the frame and I still had it, bonus! On that goes Now I find my mech is making a clicking noise like it wants to change gears (I only have one cog) I look down to find instead of a cable there is a spoke holding it in place and its super hard to adjust, I also found myself wanting more power than 18t-16t so I come on here to buy a new 15t cog to solve the problem, that arrives and of course I don't have the tools to take off the cassette lockring etc as I've mostly rode mod, luckily my neighbour does have the tools and I pop off the lockring, I look a little closer at the 16t cog thats on there and find that its dug maybe 50%!! through the cassette body of my beautiful Chris King hub This makes me very sad, I just about manage to hammer the thing off with the help of a couple of chains, both cogs and some help from my brother, I clean it up the cassette body a little and re-fit it with the new much wider 15t cog as I don't really fancy spending £90 on a new steel cassette body just yet! Hopefully it'll last me for a while with the thicker cog not digging into the same place as the thin one but its still not a good look.. After I put the wheel back on I find the chain is aligned much better and the mech now works perfectly tensioning the chain, happy days!! I go out for another short ride in my village and really enjoy getting back into riding, it feels great and I'm doing more and more stuff like I remember being able to, I have one last little line I want to try before calling it a day, I up to back wheel but hear a noise and my HS33 pulls to the grip, I initially thought I'd blown the hose out or something from pulling too hard (who knows?) but check my brake to find my pad has sheered in two and snapped right out! Urgh.. I don't really have any suitable pads spare as I've never run a ground rim before, I rummage around and find some random pads to try out for now, pop them on and clean up the cylinders a bit, tighten up the bolts one side to set up the brake, tighten up the bolts the other side and... SNAP! There goes the thread in the frame on the bottom screw of the brake mount. Oh my daaaaaays, one thing after another!! Going from the thrill of riding trials again to the never ending need for repair is soooo frustrating.. Now I'm sorting out buying a new frame (without a mech hanger) and new forks as mine feel a little dodgy, its either the forks or my headset which.. is also being replaced along with some new pedals to replace old DMR V8's. Anyways I just thought I'd post here and let you all know my experience partly to relieve some of the stress of it all and partly to see if anyone else finds that same thing happens to them! Cheers Olly.
  9. Random, I'm from Cambs and havent rode for aaaaaages, just sorted out my bike the other day and looking to get back into riding so yea I'll be up for riding for sure! Theres two remaining riders to my knowledge from Cambs, one is my friend James and another is a french rider new-ish to Cambs that we met the other day called Max, had a good ride the other weekend with them both. There has never really been a big Trials riding scene in Cambridge unfortunately, there used to be maybe 10 of us back 5-8 years ago but most riders have stopped or moved away now sadly, I've always hoped for new blood to be coming through though.. Feel free to PM me and we can sort out some riding (I'm away from the 5th of July to the 22nd of August travelling US and Canada though) Olly. Here is James on here by the way.. http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/user/22109-jolly/

  15. Wasn't working for me yesterday, but it's working fine for me today, I'm not sure how you find it normally but I find it going on my download history and clicking 'Play' on the download link.. I've been playing a lot of Fifa 10 recently and really liking the Be A Pro Seasons mode, also like playing exhibition games and live games which is all I've played in previous years! I've also managed to find some time to get cracking on Forza 3 and I have to say it's incredible!! The looks, sounds and feel of the game are amazing, I'm loving the cars, races and new tracks in the game it is just soo good. With Fifa 10, Forza 3 and Modern Warefare 2 coming up my gaming needs are sorted on all fronts Olly.
  16. I have the same problem with text and such, I have to go into Internet Options, then I scroll down to the check-box and turn OFF *ClearType* then it goes back to normal again, so that may be worth a try Olly.
  17. It'll be fine, although if you mean Dave Mirra 2 from the original Xbox then they don't work on Harddrive-less machines so you'd need the Premium/Pro
