  1. Bit of advice no-one has suggested: Use U-pol acid etch primer, its £10 ish from Halfords, its the only primer to use on bare metal alloy! Nothing else will stick well at all!
  2. Actually, multiply 18 x the answer and your back where you started! 22! Try it!
  3. Theyre not roughly the same, theyre almost exactly the same, take 22 and divide by 18 = 1:22 ratio THEN take 18 and divide by 15 = 1:20 ratio I don't think you'd notice any differance. Martyn
  4. I used to race rally cars. I used to drill holes in them to save weight. Someone once asked the question: 'where do all the chips go when you drill?' If you cannot gaurantee that all waste is removed from inside the frame after drilling, then it would be completely pointless!
  5. Hi Robin We are just down the road from you, 5 mins! Connor is at the same school as Adam! (just started) I'll make sure I introduce myself next time I see you outside the 'Farmers' Just had to add a temporary seat to Connors bike as he's struggling to master getting moving without one. He's away now, and riding nice and steady balanced, with the odd track stand. He'll get there, ive told him its got to go within 2 weeks! See you soon Martyn
  6. Yes, I have them book marked, and I'll be ordering stuff very soon I think. Going to build a 26" for myself
  7. Well again - Thanks very much! If the comments on here are anything to go by, he's got a lot to live up to!! Need to get myself a bike sorted now so I can help to encourage him! Martyn
  8. Well thanks! It does seem spot on, but if you have a look here: http://peak-biking.blogspot.com/ you can see how I made it! Its only draw backs are that is a cromalloy frame so weight is a bit high, but if it gets my sun balancing, rocking and doing little roll-offs etc then its doing its job! Thanks for the comments Martyn
  9. Will have to pop over that side of town and check it out! Cheers
  10. Ive thought about this, I think as he hardly weighs anything, I'think they'll hold well, the biggest trouble is him being able to reach the levers in the 1st place! More pics and story here: http://peak-biking.blogspot.com/ Martyn
  11. Looks like its at Bacup? So not near enough, might be worth a trip out sometime though - thanks!
  12. Hi Sounds good, but need to wait a week or so, Connors not been out on the new bike yet as we broke the rear wheel. Here's a pic of the bike now. Martyn
  13. Hi I am Martyn, I live in Dronfield (nr Sheffield) and have joined here so I can get good help and info for my son (he's only 4). We have just completed a one off 16" trials bike for him. ( I'll get some pics up when I can) I will hopefully get myself a bike so I can encourage him. We also ride mountain bikes together on the local trails. Thanks Martyn & Connor
  14. Yes, you're right, if I see something here I'll get him along, I'm hoping to get myself a bike also, used to have one about 10 yrs aga when martyn Ashton Martyn Hawes were at their peak. Thanks guys
  15. Hi I have just finished building a 16" one off trials bike for my 4.5 year old son. He's seen the local lads riding, but I want him to see some bigger and better riding to inspire! Is there a place in Sheffield/North Derbyshire that riders can go to to ride? Thanks for your advice Martyn
