Thanks Leon, would be good to stick with parts from or closer to that era. Have never gone wrong with Mavics, main reason for new wheels would be to get a hope pro 4 trials hub and going single speed. I've found EX721s online for £50 although no longer available from the big retailers like chainreaction or Evans. Do Mavic produce an equivalent to the F519? (think this was it, "freeride" rim in between d521 and x519 weight wise) as this would be good alternative up front. Yeah that's it with Jamaican paint job. Good choice of frame must be relatively rare these days i would have thought.

I'm after recommendations for new 26" rims, front and rear. It's for a planet X Zebdi and I'm riding street these days, although nothing big. I'm running HS33s front and rear so disc only is not an option. The current setup being replaced is Mavic D521 rear (590g) and X517 front (400g), guessing these aren't available from new anymore though! It would be nice to get something comparable weight wise to the Mavics, but I don't mind going a bit heavier if needs be, particularly up front for some added beef. Any suggestions or is it slim pickings on 26" these days? Most of what I've seen is the drilled, wider trials specific rims on Tartybikes, although not too sure which of these would be best suited having only been on MTB rims before.

Thanks. I didn't want to change the setup too much as this is what I was used to riding for so long. And also I've been out of riding so long that I'm not up to speed on what everyone rides these days! I wouldn't mind tweaking it in future though, perhaps trying out a different bar/stem combo. What's this newfangled singlespeed idea though?

Decided to get my Planet X Zebdi back up and running again. I've thrown on a few new parts (favourite addition being a set of Fatty R's purchased on ebay) but most of it is from circa 2003 when the bike was built. Better get out and ride it now!

They were the days, back in 1999 Tenbytrials introduced me to what would later become trials-forum.

A bit late but Top marks for crowbarring in a relatively obscure Partridge quote into a theological debate (well not quite a debate) That video is spectacularly extreme, I'm suprised Louis Theroux hasn't made a (top notch) documentary out of it. Anyway, no matter what opinion you hold either side of the great debate it's simply impossible to prove anything either way, so it seems best to call it all a draw. You may be in bed with him but If you've yet to googlewhack his schlong then I'm willing to bet that if its what you want to hear, he will tell it to you. So don't read too much into his comments

I'm pretty sure that was the workings of vicious internet rumours. In other comical Frosties-kid-e-rumours he had been diagnosed with a terminal illness and his last dying wish was to appear in a Frosties advert

Can anybody tell me which insurance group my car is? (:$ ) I've decided to sell it and need to know for advertising purposes. As you can guess my knowledge of cars is minimal/ none! I have googled for it but I couldn't find a definitive answer that I could 100% trust. Group 3 and group 5 is what I have seen bandied about so far. It's a 1998 1.4 CL Polo Cheers!

You've got it spot on. This is exactly how I remember the 50's. The streets were filled with the sound of children laughing and playing. Smells of home cooking filled the air. Criminals were well mannered and smartly dressed. Rape hadn't been invented. You could park on street and leave the keys to your car on the passenger seat and everyone was kinder. I'd love to hear more of your memoirs from the era.

I'm looking for some recommendations for the best places to go and things to see in Barcelona. I'm there for 4 days with my girlfriend so no bike on this occassion. I'm sure plenty of people on here have been so any insight would be appreciated. I've got tickets for FC Barcelona at the Nou Camp on Sunday (I'm sure she will love it!). I'm particularly interested to find out if anybody can recommend the best bars/ clubs in the city as the guides aren't always the best for that kind of info. We are staying in the Barrio Gotic but will obviously travel around anywhere that is relatively central. So if you've been then please furnish me with your knowledge. Cheers!

Impressive stuff! Some big moves going on there. Those photos looked mightily familar to me on first glance, but I wasn't totally sure to begin with. Of course I've since read the final sentance at the bottom of your post which I didn't spot when I was first browsing the pics. So the snow has finally melted in Vancouver then! I'd love to see a video of your riding in downtown that would be ace. Hope you don't mind but I've posted a few pics of myself riding the same spots (much smaller moves though!) in 2004. Your photos brought back some good memories- thanks for posting them.
