lol and can you ride a trials bike fairly decent then? if so maybe its just me being a massive bender, just thought id pick trials up fairly quickly but its taking ages even to get the basics so massive RESPEK to you guys you make it look sooooo easy.

hi my bikes well speced hope/tryal wheels, echo stem gu forks hope and hs33 etc etc, its nice and tight and rides like a new bike, my mates bike was a bog standard mad 1.3 which aint the best speced bikes out there lol. as for my riding, ive rode bmx and dh and dj for about 20 years now, fairly good on a bmx can do whips supermans etc but ive rode a trials bike around 5 times now for a few hours. i managed side hops within minutes on the mad bike, still cant on the simtra. my friend is very good at trials and said it feels nice? its a bit frustrating but i dont feel part of the bike if you get me? thanks
-
my mates a good rider and can hop around no worries on it and says it feels nice but i find it really hard? is it the geo or my lack of skillz? im totally new to trials so not sure whats what but no i can ride other bikes much better, the simtra feels soooooooooooo long? cheers
-
got a simtra stock really love the bike but cant progress, it just doesnt feel right for me, i picked up more in a hour ride on my mates cheap mad then i have in weeks on this. now shall i try swap it for a another stock bike diff geometry wise or shall i keep all my bits and by a diff frame? or get a mod? i no its all personal preference etc but the simtra feels too long/big for me it seems. any opinions apreciated as its holding me back from learning. thanks
-
ok great i may give a set of them a go. are they ok for a bit of street etc? the front ive got now you pedal like mad for a run up and as soon as you stop pedaling the bike stops lol. thanks for ALL the replies, mucho grassy ass

hi thanks for the reply, the 2.2 front ive got on at mo is sooooooo close i doubt id get the tryall in as there 2.5 arent they? i may stick with the rear as it dont seem too bad i think the fronts the problem lol, amazing tyre for wet or natural but for me its too overkill rolling resistance is terrible. i may try a moto digger front or the halo knobbler? both seem decent and cheap on chain reactions, the sticky finger looks ok but it looks too much like a dj tyre like the moto rt for flat pack? may hunt for a used set of tyres as 50 quid in tyres aint possible as just spent a grand blinging up me van lol. cheers (again)

hi i know its probably been done a zillion times but i currently have a 26x2.35 maxis roller rear and a 2.2 wet scream front, i mainly ride street so want to get a more roll friendly setup, my rears had it anyway but the fronts too sloppy for me, any recomendations? are dmr motos any good for trials? the more knobly style moto. onza sticky finger any good? i cant get more then 2.35 in the rear though, any thoughts apreciated? thanks guys.

i just ordered a 120x20 from tartys so il give that a go, i looked at pics of 120x30 and they look well high? weird. also some new grips too, the foams look and feel ok at first but after a bit of riding they are killing my hands had a nasty gash off them other day hahaha.funny thing is when i had a go on the mad bike i managed side hops easy within 2 minutes of riding it, cant do them on the simtra... the bike just feels sooooooooooooooooooo long. think i should of learnt on a mod dph! cheers for your help matey

hi guys thanks for the replies much apreciated, only prob is the stems too long for me as the bikes long too, want to get a shorter stem really, was thinking about the stacks but the steerer is short as it is and dont think it would take 10mm lol. do you reckon a 95mm stem is too short? theres an echo 115mm on tarty and what hieght would you say 20 ish degree? thanks
-
hi anyone no where i should measure my stem from basically my bike feels weird even after 2 weeks of riding, had a go on my mates mad 1.3 thing and it feels so much easier to ride, crank to stem is roughly same sizes on the bikes my rear ends shorter but hes stem is about half inch shorter and about 2 inches higher, wondered how i measure mine to find out what ive got before i order the wrong one? i need a new stem a bit higher and bit shorter? cheers

Few Stock And Tyre Pressure Questions?
mr.tattoo replied to mr.tattoo's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
thanks guys i got a free tyre when i got some parts, its a sticky finger? will this be ok for the front say? should have it all built by next week so see how it goes.yipeeeeeeeeee -
identiti are strong mate, im in my thirties and have been riding 20 odd years hard on jump bikes, that mongoose is far from a great speced bike, its got med quality parts, most jump frames are strong its the componants you want to be good specs, thats got basic hubs, steam and bars etc etc mongoose have and always will be a mid market bike ok for most peole but if you ride them hard they will break, look at dh for example when we are in france mongoose have a few dh rigs out now, not very well specced and break. what you need to look out for is a bike that someones got and already upgradid a few parts, youl then get it for a decent price. if you buy one and then have to upgrade bits it will turn into a money pit lol trust me i have a transition bottle rocket and a brooklyn machine works mini over 7500 in two bikes!!!!! you get what you pay for dude, its all down to budget, you want strong parts for dirt and street because it HURTS when stuff breaks trust me, your welcome to come see my scars from where things have broken lol oh and the reason nowt else is good spec for same money is the mongoose aint as good as the others hence the secon hand prices. it a buyers market this time of year so hold out and get a bargain buddy as a cheap bike will need spending if you use it properly, all just my opinion.

hi right had enough of trying to find a full bike so bought odd bits and gonna build one instead, few questions though, what tyres and pressures are a good base setting for a newbie? and also same question regarding what gearing? any help apreciated, thanks
