Amazing! A rough qoute of you after looking at the guys camera "I don't want to sound gay, but the photos looked quite nice with the tower in the background."
-
Cheers for the great ride guys, Spice Island was a highlight for me! Didn't mean to leave without saying bye, we thought you were coming to the wavey benches too!

I'm in, coming from Southampton if anyone wants to lift share? Can someone who is definatley going PM me their mobile number, I have only been to Portsmouth once so could get lost! Cheers Harry
-
I will come weather permitting

I'm well up for this! Does anyone have a spare seat who is driving from Southampton (I'm in Portswood but could ride to meet you somewhere if inconvenient)? I will pay £10 petrol as that would be the cost of a train ticket (google maps says it's a 70 mile round trip, so a £10 contribution should nearly cover all fuel!) If anyone does, PM me your number and I will give you a text to sort out arrangements. If not, will you guys be riding near Poole train station? Cheers Harry

I have been dying to ride for weeks now (exams) and Soton would be ideal, but if there is a group of you in Totton who wouldn't mind me coming along I could probably get the train from central. Is the spot in Totton far from the train station? Cheers Harry

Cheers for the ideas guys, I think I will wait for the Tensile booster to be in stock at tarty. Harry

Cheers, I hadn't thought of that! It seems my options are a filed Neon 2 bolt, or a cut down Tensile or Trialtech 4 bolt.

Is anyone planning on riding Southampton this weekend? MetOffice says the weather should be good....

My MAD Phase frame flexes A LOT, the rear brake has great hold but poor bite. The distance between brake mounts is a tiny 90mm, are there any 2 bolt boosters that will fit? The closest I have seen is the (ugly) Neon Booster which is 91mm. It doesn't look like there's a lot of material to file down to make it smaller though Cheers, Harry

Unfortunately my transport situation has changed so I can no longer bring my bike with me Cheers for the offer though bud

I will be near Bristol/Bath on the 27th (this Tuesday), and was wondering if anyone fancies a post-Christmas ride, show me the local spots etc Cheers Harry

I found that small independent supermarkets tend to have a few that they don't want.

Change of plan to 10.30, will we be seeing anyone else there?
-
Around 11 at the train station? Is everyone else still up for this?
-
The weather is looking good!
-
Nope, we haven't met! I've PMed you. Harry

I would be up for this, as long as you guys don't mind a beginner tagging along? Where abouts do you meet up? Cheers Harry

I have changed my sprocket size, and whilst I was fiddling about I decided to follow this advice: I thought I would add some photos, to help anyone who plans on doing it in the future. I appologize for poor quality and large size photos, I only had a phone to hand. Follow these instructions to remove your freehub body. I needed a 12mm allen key, which was extended using a massive pole. This took a lot of force, one person to hold the wheel, one person on the end of the pole. Could probably do it on your own with a vice. Almost there, you can see the washer which needs removing. Remove the silver washer, and re-tighten the freehub body into the hub. This thing is solid now and will do me fine until I can afford a fixed hub. The freehub is pretty much trash, it only has 15 engagement points, so I was not worried about damage. Harry

When do Soton riders tend to meet up? I met a few on a ride last month, but my dodgy wrist has stopped me from riding since. After a long wrist warm up, a pallet session last night got me wanting to ride much more, so I'm looking for people to ride with. Also, is anyone at Southampton Uni? Cheers Harry

I know exactly what you mean Pete. I rotated the bars on my Phase forwards and certain moves came a lot easier. The position didn't feel quite right though, and I woke up the next morning not being able to move my wrist. More than a month later it still hurts, but I am managing to ride with the bars rotated quite far back. It is making controlling the bike harder, but puts less pressure on my wrist. I'm looking forward to seeing what people reply. Harry

I'm currently doing this with the freehub fixed in position http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/topic/169483-turn-bodge-a-freehub-into-a-fixed-hub/

Re-read my original post: "It was solid with just one peice of coat hanger, but I used another bit on the other side of the freehub body (can't see in picture) for added security." Exactly, there is very little pressure on the coat hanger. I thought it may introduce some slack, but I guarantee you this bad boy has literally NO PLAY AT ALL! The only problem it introduces is added weight, as I currently have a FFW and freehub Totally agree with it not being elegant, but low funds = low tech solutions, and this works perfectly for no £££

After splashing out on a front freewheel system I won't be able to afford a new rear hub/wheel for a while. I searched the forum and there was a topic suggesting that you can tie the sprocket to the spokes to hold it still. I did this (and it works perfectly- she is solid, and the chain doesn't touch the coat hanger) using a green wire coat hanger (being green is the most essential part of the whole operation of course). It was solid with just one peice of coat hanger, but I used another bit on the other side of the freehub body (can't see in picture) for added security. I just thought I would post up a pic, hoping that it may help other members to visualise what they need to do (my friend could not understand what I was planning to do until he saw the finished thing). Cheers Harry

Pictures: It seems I have every size alan key but the one to put the handle bars on lol! There was a small crack in the chainstay but it got welded up. The bash plate needs 2 bolts. One of the rear 4 bolt brake mount holes has had its thread stipped, so would need to be helicoiled or bodged with a larger bolt. Or use some v brake mounts (I did have some for this but can't find them) So yeah, consensus is whack it on ebay and hope for the best? Borat: I am near Basingstoke Thanks guys
