Does anybody recall seeing a TV program on the use of bike helmets? it basically said helmets were only safe in certain types of fall or accidents the test they did was to send some people out on a ride everyday of the week for a month all with helmets. the next month they were sent without helmets on the same route at the same times. riders with helmets were hit so much more than without, they put it down to drivers of the cars, buses ect as less cautious and would drive much closer. so the end of the program was basically saying don't use a helmet!!! they did a final thought and it was along the lines of stunts and things along that line should use helmets and on the road dont.. i guess most people would disagree with this!! but i believe its true, my best mate when i was younger always biked to school never used a helmet never a problem unless he got his shoe lace stuck in his chain set lol anyway the school decided to do a cycle guide for the pupils and advised we all get helmets to be safe. A few weeks later there was a accident that involved my friend, he had fallen into the path of a truck and was crushed the helmet strap broke his neck! i don't want to give to much detail but from then on i have always taken my helmet off to ride A to B

All the parts you mention are made to work with magura! and will not damage the brake, water will over time damage the insides of the brake. The new evo brake from magura is made with trials use in mind, better fittings like 4 bolt clamps yet they still bleed with blood. The germans know what they are doing, or they would sell the brake with a bottle of evion. water bleed = damage to brake internally , more time to bleed as it fades over time. not covered by magura warranty royal blood = made for the brake only needs bleeding if damage to the hose. if brake leaks full 5 year warranty. At the end of the day its down to each rider to make there minds up, I'm not fighting to say it does not work because it clearly does and so many people are happy, i just don't get the effort having to bleed the brake every 3 months and to make sure you don't forget the anti freeze in the winter i can get my bike from the garage sun, rain or freeze and know the brakes will work from the start.

If the hs33 was made for water it would come standard!! keep it blood! no repeat bleeds needed unless you damage your hose. My hs33 have been running for about 4 years now trouble free I know im going to get a big face palm from all the other water bleed lovers for what i have just said, and im ready to take it

The price is set on how much it cost to make the item, bash plate is a simple thing to make where as a brake booster depending on the type is a little more work. It tends to be the lighter and stronger the item the more it will cost!

Other bars work perfect. I might try tarty on monday This was my last option as the bar and stem are perfect for me, i think i will use a tango can, it has to be apple Im glad im not the only one confused by taking a file to the stem, my thinking is i need to make less of a gap by using shims or metal from tango apple can to close the gap

If i take paint off it will make the gap bigger still! so whats the point in that?? you wont see anything from a pic as it looks just fine it looks the same when i put other bars in but with no movement.

Na its not the headset as i have had other bars in the stem and it works fine!! i can feel the movement at the bars and clamp

Hi guys I'm confused about my stem and bar combo. i have a hope stem http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=6285 and rockman bars http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/product.php?product_id=10779 both say 31.8 over sized . mine don't fit!! I have had other bars in the stem and it works perfect but these two together will not work, all i get is a horrid creaking noise and movement back and forth. i have undone all bolts, cleaned and re-clamped back together and still no joy bars work in my DH 31.8 clamp so neither are defective! Is this me missing something really simple? please help!

You need to re bleed the brake!! it needs more fluid but make sure you have the adjustment on the lowest setting to allow more fluid into the system. is this the bat louise? if so have look on the magura website for bleed info as its very long winded and strange

Alright. i have just sold my ashton frame with the rare volvo seat. At the moment its sat in his garage doing nothing! might try and get the seat and post back if it would help you!? the seat post is the same as was used back in the day the one with the yellow magnesium rails. it uses a 27.5 seat post but will post again later to confirm. The BB would be a un56 113mm with the middleburn cranks i also have these sat in my tool box. i have a list in an old MBUK mag that i had from years ago it shows the complete build and spec details, i can send you a copy of the pages if that will help!? but will need to find it first
