Remember that the try-all tyres are designed to run fairly low so the beed is tough. That makes it not go on easy but then it won't come off easy too. try-all ***!

Hey Whats Every One's Worst Stacks On Any Bike
Bobo_Grimmer replied to trails4lif3's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
Slightly off topic but this is something that sticks in the back of my mind when trying a new gap for the first time. Is there something that you do to stop yourself from ending up doing it? One thought was back wheel position or something? How does it happen? Weight position maybe? -
Awesome! You guys are really good and it's cool to watch and learn stuff. It was a great place to ride and made a change from the norm. Thank's to Tom for kind of hosting Will deferentially want to ride there again.

Well thank you everyone. you've all given me some cool stuff to think about. i think for the money i have to spend i have made a choice. I roughly measured the total rise of the bar i have at the moment and it's around 65mm ish. and as i said before they are 27" long. I wanted something a bit longer and with a little more rise as i think that will give me a better cockpit while on the back wheel. i like the sound of the monty ones and the tryall ones. Only thing is the monty's are the same length as the ones i'm running at the moment so they are out. And the tryall ones i just not 100% on plus they are getting to be a little expensive for me, as i have other things to buy that i won't go into here, SO i think i will go for the V!Z Pro720. They have the same Geo as the monty ones but are slightly longer which is what i'm after. Well this is my thought's so far. i might be persuaded different yet though i guess...

I use them on the rear of my mod and i really like them. i have a medium grind and they bite lovely. Can make quite a honk though lol. They last an average amount of time and i think they are great for what the cost.

well there's been an unexpected and interesting response so far. Thanks guys you've given me something to think about. I guess bars can be an individual's preference but me not having ridden meny mods it's a scary decision changing geo so your input is much appreciated.

Hello, I have a question for about handlebar geometry as i'm not sure what to spend my money on. At the weekend i had a go on a mod with a wider bar and it felt really nice. My bar i'm running at the moment is 27" wide Marin xc, (i'm not to sure of its full geo sorry), and they do feel a little small. So i'd like to get a wider set of bars and save on a bit of Weight at the same time. What i've done is narrowed my search to these few bars below as they are in my price range, and to the top of it too, and are kind of what i'm looking to get. My question is what should i be looking to go for out of these bars? I prefer natural riding and ride a mod. I'm not a really big awesome rider but i am getting better. I am fairly light and small too. (5'7 9 stone) Looking at these geo's things that i think of are: Does the upsweep and the total rise difference between some of these bars counter the each other in feel ect? If a shorter bar has the same total rise as a longer bar does that make it feel higher? I'm not sure if i should go for as longer bar as i can OR go for a slightly longer bar, than i have at the mo, but a better upsweep or total rise? Trialtech Sport Riser Bar £49.00 Width: 740mm (29.1in) Total rise: 88mm Upsweep: 10° Backsweep: 10° Weight: 311g V!Z Pro720 £59.00 Width: 720mm (28.5in) Total rise: 88mm Upsweep: 11° Backsweep: 10° Weight: 274g Monty 221 Ti Riser £65.00 Width: 690mm (27in) Total rise: 86mm Upsweep: 11° Backsweep: 10° Weight: 273g. Try-All Rage Bar '09 £62.00 Width: 730mm (28.75in) Total rise: 89mm Upsweep: 9° Backsweep: 9° Weight: 268g I hope I've made some sense with this post as I'm finding it hard to get my head around and type it out as well. Any help would be great, thank you, Shawn (the geo info i got from tarty)

This is an interesting thread. I'm looking for some bars for myself at the moment too. One question i thought of is about the over all length of the bar. I have 27" Marin xc on my mod and they feel a bit small. Would a 28" or 29" bar feel much different? i do like a wider bar, after trying out another mod with a wide bar at the weekend, but would you really feel the 1 or 2" increase or does the rise and stuff come into it too? (hope that makes sense. Although i have kind of answered my question, in a way... ) shawn

Hey dude, I live in poole but i do go down B'mouth from time to time. Would be cool to have someone that knows some of the cool spots over that way.

Hum this will be interesting to see what other riders manage. I think I get about 5 to 8 hours in. I mainly ride weekends if the weather is good. would love to ride more but don't get as much time free as I'd like.

So it is..... oh well

thank you. Yeah i'm thinking of trying to bounce around in the garden after work in the week if i can. Deffo with the reels dude bring em on over your welcome any time, would be fun. lol yeah i have no idea what's going on with the brightness thing it is annoying. Ha i see your point the recording came out better than i thought it would. might try setting up a proper camera for future rides so i don't loose my head... I never ride without a lid, have come a cropper enough times to know hitting your head hurts!
-
Think your right tis a bit low.
-
cheer bud. Nah the brightness thing happened in the software I used while editing and I have no idea why. So I gave up trying to fix it. might see if I can download a different editing stuff.

Hey guy's this is my first quick cut vid of me riding. Tisn't great quality i know but i thought i'd share anyoo. I have only just started riding again, once a week, after 9 years out and a years recovery from an op to my stomach. I've been really unwell for a long time so to be riding again is amazing as i never thought i would be able to. So i'm very happy and am really enjoying riding a mod too. ( used to ride stock) K Be nice. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pTHTg0FlWEk
