Yeah Jack Meek has one as he's sponsored by them, he seemed to be doing fine on it :P I thought it was a Specialized when I first saw it because of the style of the writing, but yeah it looks cool. His had some savage scratches on the downtube but no apparent dents so looks like a fairly decent frame. James

My birthday is the same day Elvis Presley died. Cool. "Jack Bauer” (Kiefer Sutherland) When and where did Jimi Hendrix die? EDIT: And for extra points, who was the bass player and drummer in the Jimi Hendrix experience

Average power output (in sine waves per cycle) is the rated power of the speaker, realistically. PMPO is the dodgy measurment where they claim Dell's plastic speakers are 200watts. I think :- It's the maximum handling power they coul;d take before blowing up (blagged from below) I've only ever seen people use the measurement on shite computer stuff. It's pretty pointless really, just clever marketing to make people think they are buying more than they are. James edit: Just did some proper research into it:RMS power...

What impedance are the speakers? Do you have a pre amp? What wattage rating are the speakers you have? What leads are you using? If the answer to those questions is the following: 4, or 8 ohms Yes I do, with an eq and source selector. 150 or above for 4 ohms, or 90 and above for 8 ohms Really good ones, thanks. Then the best quality sound will come from getting a seperate amp. Check out studiospares for pro audio type stuff. The price ranges are huge so it depends on how much you can spend really, but if you've got about 120 quid then this will be pretty good. Should be pretty sufficiant. Really not sure how your sub connects but you could run 2 speakers here fine. Another thing to check is, on the volume controls check that the setting on wave and vol isnt full as this distorts sound too. Have it about half way. James

Clearly, Martyn didn't want Dave showing anyone up like he did at under pressure... :P Sounds like a wicked line up, I agree though where's Dave Marshall? Possibly one of the most talented riders we have to offer and he's not even on the stand ins. James

Check the faq  I'm not 100% sure on the anodizing, I think if you sanded it and tested it first it would make sense, the problem is the paint may react with the anodizing so would be best to check first. James
-
I think the point is that you don't need to check whether or not it's loose all the time like you did with an acs, because the design on an eno means the revolution of the cranks won't undo the anodized part due to the circlip inside. James

Which version do you have Mark? The 72 ratchet or 36? I have the 36 ratchet one and it's been superb. As for you're question on the stiffeness, I thought exactly the same when I got mine but the do free up so don't worry at all. I fitted mine and after 2 weeks it was spinning freely enough for crankflips and the like. You shouldn't have any problems with it coming loose. The anodized cover is as someone said earlier simply there to keep grime out, the freewheel could function just as well without it providing you kept it clean. This is as the insides are all held in with a nice big circlip which means there aren't any issues with heavy skippage like on the ACS freewheels. My freewheel has probably skipped about 3 times (only when riding along, not when putting a heavy amount of pressure through it) in the 8 months I've had it. I've never taken it off my bike and never needed to do any maintainance. If it ain't broke don't fix it :). As for the 72 ratchet I'm not sure. I know dave marshall had one and he really liked it, didn't skip often at all (about as much as a standard well maintained king) and it was usually just when riding along like the 32 ratchet one. Cheers James

I managed to make some pink Megamo bars silver by polishing them for ages on a wheel with the proper soap...it takes a while but works in the end. Just experiment :D James

Currently winning THIS on ebay so hopefully that will be my first car. Insurance is 1400 and thats the first quote I cared to look for so I could probably find cheaper elsewhere. Any experts have any pointers on what to look out for bar the obvious rust, etc etc.... Thanks James

No I know, but the market he is aiming at: People with Middleburns. Are very likely to have already bought the cranks with a Middleburn bashguard so it's still cheaper in most cases. James
-
Well, why don't you make a prototype and post a pic? Then test it significantly, re work the prototype, and make sure it's as good as possible. Take input from riders, giving their views on what makes a good bashguard and try to roll them all into one. I don't think people will be willing to pay £20 for a bash that is un tested and had little or no r&d put into it. Especially when they can get a proven middleburn bash milled out for half what you're asking by a reputable machinist/frame builder (leeson). From your post it's hard to understand what you are actually planning to produce, so people will find it hard to comment. James

I see that pic is from southampton, are you local? I have rode there, and done the exact move in that picture! The quality is really good by the looks of things, nice photography too, it's a good angle . Cheers James

There's actually a really big range of rims out there for 24inch, one of which will suit your needs I'm sure. DMR deevee The dmr rim is alright, fairly good strength, not welded though at the join just pinned. It's 32mm wide and has eyeletts so should be fine for most people. Comes with a machined sidewall ready for you to use rimbrakes, or grind... Atomlab dhr Very expensive, the only reason I have them on my jump bike is becuase I got them at 30 each. To be honest these rims didn't impress me, they aren't welded at the join, and don't come with a machined sidewall. They are light yes, but dent easily(mine, are dented to buggery) . Worth a look if you are smooth, want a light black rim, and like the logo's, but otherwise just get the.... Sun Rhyno lite xl This rim has a good reputation, it's a good weight and a good price, eyeletted, welded machined and triple box design give it a good weight to strength ratio. Holds grinds really well as far as I know. Tioga rim Basically a combination of all the above, double eyeletted, welded join, black finish (which can be grinded) build into really great wheels. Get them while they are cheap. I personally will be running the tioga rims on my 24, if I couldn't get those i'd get the Sun rim, and then I couldn't get those, I'd probably give the Dmr's a try..... The above are the rims you should be looking at in my opinion, everything else is over heavy or not really suitable...When you get them built you may have difficulty finding good spokes in the right length. I'd recommend going to a good wheelbuilder, who, if he can't get the right length, has the tools to cut spokes to the right length so you can still use good quality ones. Hope this has helped, add me to msn if you have any other questions. Cheers James

Sorted it out guys, spent the whole of last night watching a really cool documentary about jazz on bbc 4 with him, then today went out for a early meal and then presented him with the Live aid dvd and a card (don't ask how I afforded it) which he was really pleased with. Thanks for the kind replies, James
