My lever creaked really really badly at one stage, to a point where it impaired the power of the brake. I took the whole lever apart right to to ball and socket, cleaned it all with degreaser, and re-assembled it with finesse multi lube on all the proprietory interfaces to reduce the friction which caused the breaking. Oil dripped from the lever for a bit (not fluid) but since it's been amazing. James

It's not just about not clearing. Its fookin miles off. It needs to come out about 10mm to clear (just measured it) James

It's a XTR vee, so it's about as generic as the come.... Shit design i'm thinking, I can't believe this hasn't come up before (N) James

Ok I have come across a problem in building up my bike. On the ashton forks, with the dual boss part for 24/26 inch forks, when you run them for 24 with the studs on the lower brackets, the brake caliper cannot go all the way on without hitting the top one. There is no way I am changing forks (having just had them professionally sprayed) or taking a grinder to the top mounts, so I was wondering if anyone has any solutions.... I also can't run a disc as I don't have a disc hub. Having a quick thought, this would fix it (quick artists impression) but I've neither the materials or tools to make it... It would need to be 1.3-1.5cm deep to enable the calipers to clear the forks... Any help or suggestions appreciated. James

Why would it bother him if we have seen no effects of it at all here? I challange any of you to give me proof that bird flu has reduced your quality of life yet, I guarantee none of you can give me an answer. It's a possibility, it's not actually happened yet.
