  1. It depends what the finish is like in my experience, you want to be painting over a fairly smooth yet grippy surface so if you have done your primer and its still really rough, take some super fine wet and dry to it after plenty of drying time just to get it nice and even. The main thing is to just pay attention in between coats really, as long as you ensure you are building up nice and even you should be able to maintain a smooth finish throughout every coat.
  2. Get some sidekick forks. You'd have fun tying to break those.

    Music

Mogwai, Boards of canada, some aphex twin stuff, cinematic orchestra.... James
  4. That was the XC rim Jonny, it's slightly different to the DH one. It would be like someone buckiling a X517 and then saying that the D521 is shit...... Get what I mean? Anyhoo I challenge you to find another 24inch rim which is double walled and eyeletted, has a welded join and is a decent width for 25 quid....There arent any. The atomlab DHR's are cheese rims, and most of the others don't offer the quality of build that the Tioga does.
  5. I'd like to pop along but I don't have an acu license or anything, will this be a problem? Thanks James
  6. Ironically though, I think the BT Raven is the most UGLY long frame out there, probably something to do with it having random "gussets" stuck on everywhere with the accuracy of a drunk nail bomb victim. Whereas this has very clean lines and clever design and gussetry.
  7. Wow, I'm immensely impressed with the quality of the welding. It looks very tidy! Providing it's a mechanically strong design and there are no random issues I reckon this is a pretty excellent frame. £290 is pretty reasonable too. It's about the only long frame I've liked to be honest. Looks good without the stickers obviously. James
  8. I'm not bothering now, £14 on a train fare to get wet, no thanks ;) Maybe next time James
  9. I'll be out with paul from southampton. I might be on my ashton ive not yet decided. Cheers James

    Koxx Days Dvd.

Is there any BMX in it, after all I'm expecting BMX in a Koxx dvd. (*sarcasm)
  11. Not really though as the money and time put into the prototypes is wasted, should have just done what viz do with their other products and take an existing design, exploit it and lower the market value of the brand :ermm: People will buy it whether it's crap or not in my experience.
  12. I doubt you'll say they are shit though if you intend to try and sell them.
  13. Nice one, it is indeed awesome. The Steven Hamilton section is unbelievable in that DVD.
  14. Now you've gone and done it sam, you won't be able to ride now for the amount of people that'll turn up!!! I might be there, probably on my revell though. Cheers James
  15. Hmm that's a shame then, I must have got one of the last ones where you could spec whatever you wanted then. I doubt there will be any change in quality however, probably be even better as the frame manufacturers are all very good out there now. Just a shame there isn't the customability anymore. James
  16. Yeah XC versions. These are 600gram + dh ones so they should be fine. Back brake is f**king immense, I'm loving it! Had a ride today on it and I'm getting used to it really quickly. It's just an effortless bike to ride in general because of the weight and set up. I may change the stem to a higher rise on to make bunny hops a bit less difficult but apart from that I'm super pleased with it. Glad you all really like it, I expect I'll be out on this more than the street bike for a while so look out for it  Thanks James
  17. It's a BRG from a rare car manufacturer and it's got like a multi coloured metallic you can't really see in the pics. No plans for stickers, there's one on there that's very subtle and that's enough for me (Y) James
  18. Thanks everyone, the seat post stays as it is though - It's a X lite metal matrix (Y) James
  19. The stem is a Thompson elite 105mm x 5 deg rise and the bars are Roox torque bars with a 2 inch rise, cut down to 25 inches. Glad you all like it, cherish the pictures as I doubt it will stay that shiny for long. Thanks James
  20. Best bet is to ride some others and see what the geo is on those, and if you like them then base yours around that. James
  21. Nah it's not that colour, I was waiting for someone to say it was hehe. Yeah the seats where it is just because it's practical, I could put it all the way in but I can't pedal sat down with it there. Yeah the adaptors work really well, Edd potts is the man for this sort of thing so if you need something doing get in touch Cheers guys James
  22. Welll there it is, finally. The last one shows the pic of the adaptors Mr Edd Potts made me which work supremely, so thanks a lot for that Edd. I had it resprayed so it wasn't the same as all the others, and I'm not saying the exact colour because if someone copied me it would piss me off royally Hope you all like.. James
  23. I explained well in depth in my original post, I wasn't expecting to see bmx at all. I've already given reason to not liking it so why can't people accept my opinion. I downloaded it expecting move after moved of fast paced interesting, technical exciting trials riding and didn't. By the time the moves happened it was exciting, and then it wasn't for a whilem then in between there were some mediocre parts in comparison.....see where I'm going? I suggested you see BMXIGANS to watch the style of editing and way the video was put together not the riding in any aspect. Thats maybe how TRA got the wrong idea of me wanting to see BMX. I didn't, I wanted to see trials, which I did. But that's it. I wasn't blown away by the video. I was by some of the riding but not the video... get what I mean? How am I offending anyone
  24. Anyone up for tomorrow then??? James
