riding well in the wet comes with experience... as everything performes less ,i.e , brakes , tires ... slippery surfaces etc... you will eventually learn to use your body weight better to compensate for these. i tend to keep my body more centered or more forwards over the bike to help keep the rear end from slipping about , or vice versa for your front. also cushaining your landing's more wether going up something or off something can help with grip. when it rains just go out and have fun... im sure once you learn to ride well in the wet like i did, then you will trust the drier conditions more and better yourself in the dry to!!

i reckon all freewheels have a bit of play... if they did not then they would probably be too stiff to turn freely, however if you have a freewheel that has a removable lockring for servicing like the eno then always make sure its tight , or like someone siad above , use a bit of loctite. if its not tight and comes loose whilst riding you could damage the freewheel pretty good mate!

yellows on a medium grind = ok yellows on a harsh grind = amazing

heatsink yellows in cnc backings.... were good on a medium grind but now there amazing on a harsh grind -
oh well my memory aint so good...... was 10 years ago..... if they were made of steel like you say then they were god dam weak.. snapped like ali..

compared to todays hubs they are shite , but back in the day they were the best hubs on the market , and yes all the big names used them. however they did break alot with me , any drop over 10 foot was a garunteed axle snapper ... and as for the rachets im 99% sure they were aluminium. the pawls were steal. the shell was ali and its all one piece with the rachets machined into the shell. everytime i had a big skip and a bang , that was one rachet gone. after 3 or 4 snapped the freehub would not turn so i would have to send it back to hope for a replacemant shell. if you really want one buy one but be warned , they are not up to todays standards of trials hubs!

wow 2 in 2 weeks lol.... just recieved my 96 click in the post 10 mins ago.... cheers tarty!!!!! feels very solid , will be giving it a good thrashing tomorrow in town , see how it does....

never run a pro 2 as yet so cnt comment on that , but used to run many of the older hope hubs..... from what i remember the xc/mono had 32 or 36 engagements and the bulb had 48... however the ratchets were aluminium and i broke so so many of them as well as snapping axle after axle. hope kindly sent me the bulb after sending one to many xc hubs back claiming it was alot stronger but it was not. broke about 6 bulbs hubs in a year and a half. alot of people seem to be using the pro 2's nowadays so probably your best bet matey edit.... bulb had 36 engagements , xc 21..... still a pile of crap though

thought i'd bump up this thread..... well im ordering a new freewheel tomorrow and seems as getting hold of a second hand eno before the weekend is proving hard ,looks like im gonna order this new tensile in the morning. i know its fairly new out but has anyone had any major problems with it yet ? as my first post was saying i was worried about the stress of only 2 pawls engaging at a time. i have seen pics on here of the tensile 60 click's outer casing tearing in two... im just hoping the new one does not do the same...
-
i would buy a helicoil kit yourself dude. two of my threads were knackered so ordered a kit from ebay , cost about 14 quid and has 25 inserts. plenty enough for the future. only took 10 mins to fix the 2 knackered threads and was so impressed how strong the inserts are, i did the other 2 aswell. my mates thread recently went too ,so did his for him. very simple to do...

good to hear you got it back..... mine got nicked last saturday, but got mine back too lol...!!!
-
few pics here from last saturday before my bike got nicked. a student photographer asked to take some so let him. they are alright quality..... oh and dont slate me for not having a helmet lol......i simply aint bought one yet
-
ok , so as my stolen bike had its eno freewheel removed i need a new one . the eno is dam expensive though at 84 quid. however it is bloody strong as fook. would really like to buy one again. been looking at the new tensile, and have noticed it has 3 sets of 2 pawls. does this mean only 2 pawls at a time are taking the stress of my pedal hops etc? i know 3 pawls engaged at a time on the eno which makes sense... and as i weigh alot im not sure i could trust only 2 pawls taking my weight if this is the case.....heard about a few of the old tensiles (60 click) teeth snapping in half. im thinking only 2 pawls engaging will put more stress on the shell of the teeth and probably break the same way? hope you understand

cheers guys..ill be popping to halfords later today to pick a bottle up then ... get this chavy spray job off my bike !
-
as i have my bike back now , im wondering the best way to strip all the shite blue spray off this frame ..... is this nitromors stuff a good bet??? wondered has anyone used it and how ? seen some in halfords for a fiver , 500ml bottle, would this be enough to strip the whole frame? cheers

the wierd thiong is ,is that the rear wheel had 2 snapped spokes on it, having checked it over they have fixed the 2 spokes. the freewheel needs to come off for this. i rang every bike shop i know in lincoln (about 10) but there was one i forgot to ring , which is not far from the street where i got it back from. i have a feeling they took the wheel to this bike shop and got it removed to fix the spokes. however there is now some cheap ass freewheel on it. i got a feeling the bike shop owner may have had problems removing it and broke it off instead , then replaced with the cheapo freewheel,,, im gonna ring the shop tomorrow and find out, maybe he still has the eno or bits of it???? you just never know!

yeah lol, im happy, and yes im a big lad lol, 18 and half stone of britsh beef!!!!!

yo yo....thought i let everyone know i got my bike back tonight....bloody brilliant.!!!!! had a phone call with a name and address , went straight down the house , guy answered the door and i let rip and barged in.... the lad shite himself and went upstairs to get it, the rest of the lads lads in the house were to scared to do fook all. frames been sprayed blue and the hydraulics white , and the eno freewheel is missing but apart from that everything is fine on it! im happy!!!
-
really hoping to get this back soon.... got alot of people all over lincoln asking around for this bike now... have looked around the chavy spots a few times but its not to be seen. i think they are gonna keep it hiden for a few days . all i need is a name or address and i'll throwing some big punches till i get it .... its been 2 days now and im still steaming. its not the best bike in the world but when you've had 5 years off and starting to get back into the sport, it dont matter what bike it is, it matters that it was 'MY' bike. death to bike thieves!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
the only reason i did not catch them was because they got a good headstart. by the time i realised it was mine they were out my street. i ran like fook and im really fast runner but they had a choice of 3 ways to go and i had no idea where they went...... here is a picture... but it now has zoo pibull forks and black zoo handlebars....
-
hi people.... just thought i'd let everyone know that my bike got nicked tonight . chavy twats went around my back garden and took it. i heard my brakes and went out front and saw him pedaling up the road, gave him a chase on foot but he was too quick. it may not leave lincoln but just incase im hoping people could keep and eye out for it please. picture of it is in the new members section , page 64 of the bike pic thread. since that pic was taken it now has zoo pitbull black forks on it now and black zoo handle bars. thanks alot people karl
