Easy gents I have a hope pro 2 and recently it's started singing it's goodbyes to me with it's own personal touch which sounds alot likc "CRACK! CRACK! CRACK!" Basically sounds like it's skipping, it's like pushbike exhaust backfire Is there anything I can do about it? Ric.

Finally got a bike to upload pics of! Today the weather was shit and rainy so me and a mate decided to go exploring really weird and out of the way dirt trails and back roads around our local wooded area's. Found some great spots and got absolutely filthy. Was great fun!

I'd probably be interested.

Yeah~ That's the bit that effin scares the shite out of me. Slooowly making my way though. Busted my tailbone real good earlier too so i'm DEFINITELY learning

Yeahehee~ After several frustrating hours at the park I'm totally starting to get it! I've ditched the little endo rock method for now because the quarter crank turn is really doing it for me. I'm still 1 or 2 degrees away from that perfect balance point but at present i'm keeping it long enough to get 2-3 hops on the back before I falter again. Couple of times I really did click into that perfect point before I overshot one degree and looped out but it felt more "good" than scary. Hopefully this is the start of a continuous curve of improvement!

Oh thank you, that's a nice little pointer, I did see that once actually, I just never came across anything wheel height. Though maybe if I started with my front wheel higher than normal I could get to my balance point easier and make progress from there until I don't need the "ledge" anymore. Tried to practice in the livingroom, didn't go well So~ It's off to the park again for me
-
Well~ I do find that if I try the quarter crank turn method to do this move when I grip the brake the front end just slams down. What if I made a little hopping lunge forward motion as this happened, would it keep me up and give me a small hop forward? (Probably just explained the technique to himself like a ponce?)

'llo again, I've still been trying to nail that backhop and I THINK I might be getting there, but it's seriously frustrating to grasp! I just want to iron out a few things that may be going wrong, So firstly, I have little phases where I can really get the bike up to a nice angle and hold it there, though when I try to hop I seem to just make the bike shudder a bit instead and I lean to one side/fall onto the front wheel again. After this I kinda lose the motion I did for a long while until it 'clicks' again. I kind of get it but I don't know how to complete the 'hop' portion of getting onto the back, as all the issues seem to spur from losing my balance on the back. In short: "How do I get the other 10% required to master this move~!"

Is There A Budget Way To Re-true A Brake Rotor?
Herr.Wolfkatze replied to Herr.Wolfkatze's topic in Trials Chat
Heated it up? Like what, cooked it in the oven? Christ, how long for and at what temperature? I also only have one of those regular like... Hammers with the hitting side and the side that removes nails. Is this okay? -
Got a hope mono trials and the rotor was slightly out of true before, pretty unnoticeable, now for some reason the thing has gone way bent. It's not a huge hindrance whilst pedalling but I do notice the wheel doesn't move very far before stopping now + the slight noise it makes is starting to annoy me more than my freehub clicking annoys most people. Is there any easy way of setting it right?

I Can't Keep My Bike On It's Back Wheel!
Herr.Wolfkatze replied to Herr.Wolfkatze's topic in Trials Chat
Cheers mate that helps me understand the technique alot better atleast. I've fallen off the back once trying to wheelie, wasn't actually too bad so long as you're quick on the brakes. -
I'll definitely be there. I need serious help with my riding game. Brand new to trials and can't nail a damn thing, i'm starting to -feel- it though so hopefully riding with some gents off the forum will help. PM me for my msn and number + add me to your friends aye guys? Cheers.

I Can't Keep My Bike On It's Back Wheel!
Herr.Wolfkatze replied to Herr.Wolfkatze's topic in Trials Chat
After a while I just want to hurl the bike into a brick wall xD The worst part is now I'm SO tired I don't even know if I have the energy to go out and practice today, I reckon my muscles just won't listen to me any more. Eh.. I got it high onto the back wheel yesterday but couldn't work out how to hop to stop myself from going back down again. Frustrating sport this is =[ Hopefully I can meet up with more riders soon. -
I Can't Keep My Bike On It's Back Wheel!

Class responses as always guys, thanks. I held one for a while yesterday and tried to get the hops going it's so annoying! I think I need to get my trackstand down too which may help, because alot of the time what causes me to fall sideways is how my endo's go a bit skewed, that is the rear wheel fishtails to one side so I lift the front up at a slight angle. I'll be working on it and keeping you updated! I adooore her, passers by won't stop commenting/stopping me on the street! Had a convo with one guy yesterday who said he had a very similar set up but sprayed his frame pink. Mmmh The novelty of seeing her propped up against my wall still lives on strong -
Heya gang, I've got an Inspired Fourplay with a nicely streety set-up. I'm completely new to trials so i've been practicing my trackstands along with popping my bike onto it's back wheel via various methods, (quarter crank turn, little rock from a small endo) but when I get it up onto the back wheel the little sod just won't stay there! I either rock to one side and have to drop the front to stop from going over sideways, or it just doesn't stay up and goes back down. Does anybody have any tips on how I can keep the bike nicely straight on its back wheel? It's frustrating me so much because once I get that down and know how to hop, I know i'll progress much faster! I'm also really confused as to which foot I should ride forwards. You see i'm left footed and I play footie/kick with my left, and box as a southpaw, but when riding my bike my right foot ALWAYS ends up feeling much more comfortable forwards in terms of holding myself over the frame, and balancing etc. I feel more comfortable in a right footed trackstand and so on even though the left has more power, should I be forcing myself to use my left foot? Or should I just go with the comfortable right foot. P.S. When I quarter crank turn I really can't get the height, I can only get really high with a rock from an endo. Cheers!

Then again I don't really go to where they ride, I see mostly boarders and the occasional other inliner. The bmx'ers are down by southbank so that is a mistake on my part
