I sometimes use monty brake spray on my rear maggy and as i spray it it'll sometimes get a bit on the top of the rim (as appose to the sidewalls) and over time it hardens into this hard, white, oily, semi sticky substance on my rim. To which many people at radfest asked if i had jizzed on my rim.
I want to know is there any easy way to get it off? I've tried sand paper and files both work but i don't want to damage my rim. I then moved onto white spirit, which didn't do anything and finally i've tried boiling water which melts the substance into a very thick colourless shiney paste which is also hard to remove.
Any ideas/tips/knowhow?
