  1. It has to be pretty clear to any half sensible person that religion is a way in which ancient people explained/rationalised what they couldn't understand. People fear what they don't understand, ergo they created a belief system to best explain it. Religion can be placed geographically. The East has a higher concentration of Muslims, the West has Christians. This points to the fact that these belief systems were created completely separately of each other making the idea that it's a cultural story even more believable. Religion used to make sense of what people didn't know, it has no place in 21st Century life.
  2. I actually get annoyed when people are so openly and consistently thick (yes, I am saying religion is stupid). How can you possibly believe a text written at a time when people thought the earth was flat and that it was at the centre of the universe? To say the bible has more sound evidence because it's never changed undoes your point too, the fact that theories keep changing proves that we're constantly progressing and learning more. To keep some storyteller's ramblings untouched for a couple thousand years is just ludicrous. I reckon if you actually stopped and thought about the resounding evidence for scientific theories, compared to the world's best-selling work of fiction, even you lot would realise it's a load of bollocks.
  3. Given the evidence and sound, yet-to-be-disproved theories for the big bang, don't you think it sounds just a tad more plausible than 'magic man dunnit'*. *Robin Ince I think
  4. It was the other guy banging on about God's first aid kit, not the atheists.
  5. There's a difference between being healed and feeling okay. She wasn't healed, a broken bone patching over instantly is healed. She just felt better quickly. Anyone can fall over and feel a bit of pain straight away, and that pain can be momentary, sure. But no one healed her, think about it…
  6. I think 29. EDIT: 28 at the beginning of this month.
  7. Same here. I found montana was rubbish, much preferred belton too. Montana seems too watery and whatever cap you used it always seemed to run hideously.
  8. Both of those sites are dire too. Is there a nice trails site out there anywhere?
  9. I wonder if, over a long enough period, the entire human race as a whole gets sensible enough to realise religion is stupid and just abandon it. I wonder if in 5000 years time religion will be a forgotten thing. It's stupid, all these different religions that conflict and contradict, surely the religious folk know some of 'em are going to be wrong. Also, you'd think with all this stuff (the Garden of Eden, Noah's Ark, Jesus' cave and allllll that other shit) they wrote about, we'd have found some of it by now. Actually, on the topic of Noah's Ark—a boat big enough for two of everything? Not even zoos can manage that. This Jesus fella: The only recorded case of someone coming back alive from the dead is written down. Funny how it's never happened in real life since. I could go on but you've all got it covered.
  10. Only Goo Shop I could find is in Glastonbury UK I'm afraid: http://www.venus-design.co.uk/services.html
  11. I enjoyed that a lot! Nice riding Is the place open to ride all the time? Thinking of somewhere to go on Sunday…
  12. If you really want to learn about the flaws with Christianity (and religion in general) listen to Ricky Gervais
  13. Aw I saw that. Louis Theroux documentary? Those people are just f**king loons. Would any conceivable 'god' tolerate people treating each other that way? It's all hypocrisy and bollocks IMO when it gets to that level. EDIT: D'oh, pretty, much same as what you said, Rich.
  14. Hmm, I wish I'd moved into an apartment with a bath now. Lobbocks.
  15. Or just after break, just before P.E.
  16. What's the benefit of a water bleed over oil?
  17. A guy I ride with is pretty serious about his faith. I'll try get him to sign up at some point.
  18. Old thread I know, but I use Aire Valley a lot. Great service. Only used Tarty once (to buy a headset that got fitted by Aire Valley) and was very impressed with their quick delivery. Also, Stif are meant to be excellent quality but I've heard that the guys there are a bit twatty. I ordered a new helmet from them and have no complaints.
  19. No worries bud, and no need to apologise (not to me at least).
  20. Not if he does it right. There would be no market for bike racks if they were bad for cars, but as an extra precaution place a soft rag where straps meet the paint.

  22. I use http://heartinternet.co.uk/ and http://nublue.co.uk for my sites. Their service is second to none, but Nu Blue is quite a bit more expensive.
  23. Considering a lot of us on here work full time and pay taxes toward said fund, it is very cheeky. So you won't actually be job seeking?
