  1. ditto!!!!!!!! the old cresent illinois was lovely too super rare, i remember one rider got his one to weigh less than the monty 221 x lite mod which was the lightest bike at the time but i remember seein the guy doin an tire tap on the railin at the back of a quarter pipe in a skate park!
  2. I would imagine similar to the ET Ross. Im glad they are going to change the dropouts back to the originals, they look neat and also with the mount between the stays it keeps the brake caliper out of harms way. Its wee touches like that make a good frame better!
  3. I dunno what the hell is up with my computer at the moment it keeps on doin that! Its really annoying cuz it makes me look a twat! Damn it! Right thanks for the info on paypal just wanted to be 100% sure! Thank you for your patience guys.
  4. Sorry if i seem a little slow to you guys. But just i understand properly i can use my visa electron on paypal, correct? Sorry if i seem a little slow to you guys. 5. no what? I dont quite follow what u ment
  6. Good for jumpin though the old x-tort. The team edition was mint the blue white and red frame white rims red hubs blue side wall tires red brake calipers (grimecas if i remember correctly!) my mate brian had one i was so jealous of him! Made a lovely noise when a stone pinged up off the tyre and hit the frame!
  7. For paypal does it have to be credit card? Cuz i dont have one. This bit sounds tricky!
  8. Yeah simpler times! But monkeyseemonkeydo has a point 24" trials is goin back towards that time. No inch pinching, no weight weenies, just havin fun. And they have seats on them! Remember the saracen x-tort frame that the mad team used in that blue white and red splater design! Oh how i wanted one! Lol
  9. Give in to your dark side luke! The force is strong! LOL! I will have to set up a paypal account then! Thats easy enuff right?
  10. Ah the good old days, the martin's, tricks and stunts, magura's fluro yellow racelines, hope c2 disc brakes, eddie tongue, kurt brain, jeff Lenosky were some of the big names in trials, fsa powerpro cranks with dmr bashrings. Feels like such a long time ago now! Seems so far removed from todays trials riding! I remember if you got bored of dirt jumping you just put a set of rigid forks, a magura, short stem and powerpro's with a bash ring on your saracen/planet x/ ddg or what ever and you had a trials bike! Good times!
  11. Does anyone know how and where you can do the western union payment thing on the marino website? As i dont want to f**k it up and lose my money. Does anyone know how and where you can do the western union payment thing on the marino website? As i dont want to f**k it up and lose my money.
  12. I agree its lost some of its sparkle! I mean im not fussed about the green hope parts. But the drop outs were way nicer on Martyns bike but i suppose to keep the frame to around £229 like they want they had to keep it simple. But i think personally blue and black doesnt quite go. All blue with white forks and graphics would look gorgeous. I may well still buy an ashton for a play bike. But im still definatly buying a marino.
  13. Sorry for posting that twice my computer had a mental fit! Yeah im Gunna get the marino no questions asked! For the money you cant complain! And i can have exactly how i want with regards to dropout tyre, bb style, headset type ect. So yeah ill buy one
  14. With diamondback yet to release the effect inspired being sold out and heatsink being sold out too this is playing into marino's hands as riders can have the 24 they want and at a fraction of the cost. And likewise stock riders who want a streety 26 but dont want a czar freetrials this is perfect And further more they can specify what geo they want as i know this caused great conflict in the streety 26" thread. So marino will only get more and more custom! 15. The yaabaa would be a safe bet. Its a touch long for pure street but it would be more stable on the back wheel. Also with the yaabaa you have the option of running 26" wheels on the same frame. I wouldnt however buy the full build that is on tartybikes as its built up predominantly competition parts and wouldnt be overly strong. So if you do buy the 799 i would suggest you spec it yourself.
  16. Thank you so much for puttin those links in your post! I had a look through the photos and im more than impressed! It has made my choice all the more easier and saved me probably £100+ im going to order a marino with inspired geo with disc mount and horizontal dropouts with one of two styling tweeks and a set of his straight blade forks. I have to admit i wasnt expecting that much variety in his frames but i was wrong. I think ill order one this weekend.
  17. Magura louise. Fit and forget sort of brake. Powerful, cheap, easy to set up. Hope brakes are powerful but not very reliable i have had 3 and all have let me down and i will never use their brakes again also hayes have good power but not the best for modulation though.
  18. Well at the moment im in the process of buying a 24" but at the moment im riding a 26" which is a converted dirt jump bike this is why i advised not to do this, its quite hard to ride learnin to backhop ect. But i ride this to work every day i have a 22 tooth chainring and bash guard up front and an 8 speed roadie cassette and short cage mech with a standard mtb shifter it works fine for me and i will transfer this set up to my inspired when i get one in august. I also did this with my monty 230 urban a few years ago!
  19. Yeah i have had a look at all the options on their website ie headtube lenghth, bb style, dropouts ect. But i was more refering to what extras he could do like could for example have the inspired geo but have it look like a monty kamel with a seat? Not that that is what i want but u get my drift?
  20. A compremise between the old school and the new school would be perfect, i love the old school bikes they ride so nice for street but the new frames have better geo for trials, so half way between would be the ideal.
  21. For the love of god dont be a sheep and follow everyone else and buy an onza! The monty 219 frame or maybe the monty 221 pr (i think thats what it is called, the twin disc model.) these are probably better frames for the money.
  22. yeah i have heard that hope are really good for customer service. But with the magura louise they are that reliable they wont break down as much!
  23. you didnt specify avid cable or hydraulic. The bb7 cable is powerful but has very little 'feel' so there either on or off! I have had several bad experiences with hope brakes and wouldnt use them ever again! But dont over look the magura louise disc brake, good power, reliable Havent got the best lever feel but they are pretty good still and cheaper than a hope!
  24. it would be way to heavy to hop up very well, the geo would be all wrong for it too! I mean if u have 24 trials bike you can still run gears and use it from day to day thats what ill be doing with mine.
  25. Hope= light, powerful, good looks, but not the most reliable brakes. Avid= cheap, reliable, but not as much 'feel' as a hydraulic. Magura= reliable, solid, good power. But not got the best lever feel or modulation. I have had a brief ride on bikes with each of these brakes and these are my opinions of them. Hope this clears things up a little for you.
