Buell have been using this setup on the front of their motorbikes for years. It has pros and cons. Be interesting to see how it copes on a trials bike. 305g more weight on the back end of a bike will be a huge issue for weight weenies!!!
I would imagine there will be alot of rotor flex.
Sorry i saw it was branded Trialtech after i posted!! My cranks are well and truly F**KED so im thinking a full trialtech set might be on the cards now they've brought out that 22t bash.
I have read through the whole thread. I didnt know Beau but it seemed like he was a liked and respected rider and as a person too. It is a shame when friends are taken early.
Long way round is miles better. Ewan doesnt moan as much!!! Also theres less about the bloody support crew! Just the story of the places they go and people they meet is more complete its just 'feels' like you as a veiwer experience the whole trip and not the highlights like L.W.D
Yeah i watched it last night with a good friend of mine who served in Iraq and Afghanistan. It really got to him. I have major respect for the Boys and Girls who have served or serving in these conflicts.
Im a big advocate of sun rhino lites. Used them before and loved them super light too at a tad over 500g. Although alot of riders dont like their narrow profile. Dmr dv's are good too ran a set of them too.
To be honest im pretty much getting out of my depth here i dont wanna say anymore and you end up with a bag of shit because of my advice!! If you talk to the frame builders they will know infiniatly more than me. But good luck with it mate should be an interesting build.
Yes mate, where the steerer goes out towards the legs. From there to the axle. You'll see most frames on tarty when the state geometry it will say "when measured with a 410mm fork" or whatever length they use. Most DJ frames are measured with a fork of between 420mm and 440mm.
What size wheels you lookin to run? That will effect geometrys
EDIT: also you will need to know crown to axle length of the fork your going to run to figure out geometrys.
Odyssey linear slick or vocal chord cable. I've used both, they're very good cables. Like was said USE proper cable cutters as it can be a mega pain other wise. Pads wise im shortly gunna change to avid wranglers, i have gusset squealers which hold well even for a novice like myself but i cant deal with THAT BLOODY NOISE!!!!
