I attempted Expert 20" as planned :) I ended up 'dabbing' in the deepest part of a boggy mess we had to gap over on my third section of the day and had a horrible soggy shoe and trouser leg untill I got home :S My 5 times table is now very good, I finished on 84. Most of the times I got a 5 it was simply due to me being an unfit pasty, I was progressing through the sections really well untill I got tired/stuck in the mud/gave up :o There were a number of 5's where I just got off the bike and gave up protesting 'This is shit, its not rocks, its not concrete, its simply shit, lets go and ride Poole'. I believe Andy Green filmed one of my interesting sections and the comments I made afterwards :S All in all a good comp, it was nice to see many new faces riding the white route. I am 90% sure the next comp is at Ham Lane in Petersfield, this is a good venue, its still crap natty by my standards but its usually a fun venue.

The only way I could get pics for you is if I was to bring my bike up to my room and use the web cam :S Looked at the clearance today, I would say get the Team booster, I have about 20mmish clearance with my wheel right back in the drop outs...

I have now been running the Echo Team 2 bolt booster for a few weeks and am stupidly impressed with it! My brake feels very solid and the booster does a good job at protecting the crossovers. I went through 3 crossovers in 6 months on the megamo just through clipping them with my heal, with this booster its pretty much impossible to do that now! I have also noticed some scratches on the sides of the booster where it has protected the crossover when binning the bike. Look here, it appears that the team booster has 10mm more clearance in height, also it appears that the team booster has 2mm more clearance width ways if the hole spacings are anything to go by. I will check how much tyre clearance I have tomorrow for you Mark, but I have a feeling it would be a safer bet to get the team booster :ermm: I cant see the 4 bolt Control booster making the brake much more solid, the 2 bolt booster does exactly what is needed, it stops the frames tubes twisting/flexing closer to the seat tube. There is a tiny amount of flex [Read under 1mm of flex] at the bottom bolts but it isnt noticable through the lever. You wont be disapointed with the Team booster Mark :) Catch me on MSN tomorrow night and badger me about the tyre clearance :o Tic

Its that time again people. Use this thread to say if you are going etc... Then after the comp use this thread to post what you finished on. I am attempting red 20" this time, notice I put attempting, I think I will be practicing my 5 times table again... Tic (White Megamo Radical mod)

The last CD I bought was the Embrace Destroy EP by Fulc, I ordered it at 12:20am one month early and got number 12 out of the first 100 signed copies, how sad am I?!?! :ermm: Before that I think the last CD I bought was RATM - Live At The Grand Olympic Auditorium. And before that I went into the local music shop and bought every RATM album appart from Renegades which I already had. The next CD I buy is going to be The Mars Volta - De-Loused In The Comatorium, I am listening to my downloaded version LOADS at the moment so I am gonna go and buy it soon. I might also see if the local shop can get me RATM - Live And Rare. I am another person that doesnt buy CD's that often, even if I do I just rip then to mp3 and listen to them on my PC anyway. If I find myslef listening to an album loads that I have downloaded I quite often go out and buy it on CD...

Just you wait... One day we will all be going "we did warn you" Accidents happen, it doesnt matter how big or small the moves you are doing. My worst bails have been when doing moves I have done loads of times before... If you are going to take a helmet out with you and only wear it for the big moves is there any point?

Changing to 158 cranks will make your gearing a bit heavier/harder. 158 cranks will give you more ground clearance and in theory a shorter crank arms will be more solid.

The trials course is limited to X amount of riders at a time. Usually X amount of riders get given a 20min riding session then the next X amount of riders go in for 20mins. You just Que [in an orderly manner  ] along the side of the course. You also usually have to sign a disclaimer saying if you mess up you wont take MAD to court...

Hmmm I could come along to this but I am doing the Hampshire comp the next day so dont know if its a good idea to drive back from Newport late and be knackered out for the comp the next day or not... I will have a chat to TomC and see what his plans are. I wouldnt bother entering on my 20" but having a mess round in the day would be fun. I have never really tried to ride park on the 20" and only played round in parks on the 26" a little bit. Infact I have never really been good at/into the whole skate park thing...

Its a shame about their customer service though :ermm:" It should be www.scam.co.uk (N) Overclockers are a great company http://www.overclockers.co.uk/ >_<

Cut the strap leaving a straight edge and carefully melt with a match to stop it fraying again. This method also works when cutting down the stupidly long laces that are supplied with all shoes.

1.6 LX or XT is what im looking for at the moment. I have found a nice 1999 metalic silver 5 door 306 1.6 LX in a local garage but it is a bit over my current budget and is overprised imo. If it is still there after I get paid on the 28th im going in for the kill and I gonna see how much I can barter off of it... Does anyone have any advise on how to barter and get a car reduced substantially? :P Tic

Sorry, I should have said in my first post: I will be replacing my square taper X-Lite cranks with 165 Middleburns. I expect I will need a shorter BB to get a nice chain line even if I did stick with square tapered cranks so I am considering all my options.

I will shortly be running new cranks on my bike and am considering the move from square taper to isis. I am however a bit confused about whether it is actaully worth making the move to isis cranks or sticking with square tapers. Personally I have never had a problem with square tapered cranks, but I am also under the impression that isis is stiffer, stronger and the way to go. What are other peoples opinions on this matter? Should I stick with the tried and tested square taper system that I have never had any problems with or make the move to isis? Thanks in advance A confused Tic
