  1. Having 6*9's on a parcel shelf and a sub in the boot doesnt really make having seperate enclosures for each type of speaker very easy. Unless you spend time sorting out the different enclosures you would have the sub moving the air in the boot and the 6*9's trying to move the same air. I dont see how you can "miss a lot of midrange" by running just a sub and pair of front speakers. You have the sub in the boot to deal with the low frequency, the mids for mid and tweaters for the high in the front of the car. Bass is non directional anyway so it doesnt matter where the sub is really. Admittedly one of the easiest places to mount speakers in a car is on the parcel shelf, this is really the only location in a car that allows reasonable stereo sound with the speakers being a more equal distance from both the passenger and the driver. Having the speakers in the back of the car make the image/soundstage unnaturally behind the listener, where are the band when you go to a gig?, where is the sound coming from when you watch TV? etc... Having the speakers in the back also messes up any sort of stereo effect for the rear passengers as they would most probably have a speaker directly behind their head. I know it is personal preference really but thats my opinion
  2. Sounds fine, I have run my chain tight like you describe for ages
  3. Agreed Running a sub as well as 6*9's Nice front speakers + Sub = Im also a bit confused, you have just finished a boot install but you havent got the sub or amps sorted yet?
  4. I wish I had never sold 26" up so I could have just transfered all the parts onto a 24"
  5. XTR Lever You cant go wrong with XTR or Oddysey cable outer although if you have the money Nokon outer is stupidly solid! I have been running an XTR lever with XTR outer for nearly 2 year now, some people complain that my lever is a bit spongey but I have never had any complaints about the set up!
  6. I had thought about hiring a minibus and sharing the driving with other people but Im sure you have to be like 21/25 to hire a minibus... This should be a laugh
  7. Looks like Me, Wheeler and Manning are coming over with me as the designated driver, who can I convoy with? I have never driven in Europe and Im scared Still have to sort my passport out aswell
  8. Zebrahead absolutely suck cock. No shitting you, I saw them support Reel Big Fish the other week and they were absolutely terrible, they said too much crap involving the word f**k just to keep the kiddies happy but I wasnt impressed at all! The music was just thrashy crap, admitedly there were a few good guitar bits but overall they were complete wank Gigs I have recently been to: Prodigy in Bournemouth The Mars Volta in Birmingham Reel Big Fish in Salisbury Howards Alias in their second from last show in Bristol Kenisia who supported Howards Alias in the above Bristol gig a load of local gigs in Salisbury I want to see Pitchshifter play Portsmouth in March but I dont have anyone to go with Planning to go and see Adequate Seven in Southampton in a few weeks
  9. Dont worry, I had to have a good few adult teeth removed when I was younger in preperation for having braces. I also had to have some baby teeth removed that for some reason just wouldnt fall out themselves. Usually you get an injection in your gum which isnt really that bad. You will probably also get an injection in the roof of your mouth, this one is a bit more uncomfortable but I am sure you will cope. Once these injections have cut in you wont be able to feel anything when the tooth is actually pulled. Your mouth will stay num for a good hour or two then you just have the wierd feeling of fresh sensitive gum just like when your baby teeth fell out...
  10. Pass plus roughly halved my insurance with Norwich Union! This was a couple of summers ago mind. Im now with the aa for insurance cos NU didnt quote me happy with my renewal
  11. Dont worry Fred, I have never been either, we will be fine! Just ring Prawn as we come into Plymouth and do some "drive by directions": e.g. "Just going past a macdonalds on the left, going through some traffic lights, boozer called the rose and crown on the right, there is a right signposted to prawns mums house coming up, where am i? Where do I go next?...." Works every time
  12. Sponsorship including: Adidas Eyewear, Specialized, Fox, Helly Hansen, Manitou, Dakine, Saint (Shimano), Bontrager...
  13. http://www.thecollectivefilm.com/ The Collective are making a sequal to their first bike film, it is going to be called 'ROAM'. Go to the site linked above and watch the new ROAM trailer. Its sickening, the camera work is outstanding and its just an awsome trailer. While your at it, if you havent already seen The Collective's first bike film watch the trailer for that aswell, if you like the trailer buy the DVD, you wont be disapointed! I will be purchasing ROAM as soon as it is available DISCLAIMER - Narrow minded people avoid, the ROAM trailer has no trials and The Collective trailer only has a tiny clip of Ryan Leech. Both films are primarily freeride riding although Ryan Leech has a great section in The Collective and looking at the rider line up it looks like he will feature in ROAM aswell...
  14. Get some Mars Volta and RATM sorted Someone already suggested Prodigy up there, you cant go wrong with them either! You also need a bit of hip hop mixed in, Roots Manuva, The Roots, Sage Francis etc...
  15. You know im there Rich I didnt realise it was a Birthday Gathering? I think this might be a messy one
  16. I am deffinately taking 1 weeks holiday around March/April. Was hoping to go Skiing or Snowboarding for that week off but thats looking very unlikely right now. So......... You can probably add me to the list aswell Due to Porters passport problems I decided I better check mine was still valid, I am glad I did! The thing expires in April '06 so I need to sort out a new passport aswell
  17. I warn people about this, its not your everyday console driving game with loads of driving aids, it uses realistic driving physics
  18. Create a new folder somewhere, it would make sence to call it 'Live For Speed' and put it in your Program Files folder. Unzip all the files into this new folder. Run the .exe This is what the readme.txt file says... Installation : -------------- To install LFS S2, unzip the file into a suitable folder on your hard drive. You must ensure that the directory structure is preserved by using the appropriate option in your unzip utility. You will know that it has been correctly unzipped if you see a data folder beside the LFS.exe program and some more folders inside the data folder. To run LFS S2 : --------------- Double-click the program file LFS.exe
  19. Still in one piece red Echo ES3 in my shed... It has 3 hairline cracks but they remained hairline cracks for a fair while before I went mod. Plan is to keep it and then build it up in a few years and show people and old school trials setup
  20. Yup, Terry is an absolute legend!
  21. It wouldnt work with my motherboard according to the destruction booklet. I have to also move a jumper from one position to another, leave it for a few seconds then put it back in the original position It causes the bios to loose power and re-sets the bios to factory default. In simple terms the bios is the beep when you start your PC up, the bios contains the motherboards start up settings...
  22. George has sorted out a replacement already. He bought a Vauxhall Astra
  23. I wouldnt worry about that! A track cog is threaded onto the crank arm just like a freewheel, freewheels have been used with no problems for ages. Track cogs have also been used in other types of cycling for years so I doubt you will come accross what your worried about! Like has been said, the problem is getting the things off once they are on and fully tightened up...
  24. Is there seriously a bus company called that?
  25. http://www.liveforspeed.net/ Crazy driving simulator! You can download it as a demo but if you want the full game its £24 to get the licence and unlock it all. The demo should have enough to keep you happy for a while, there is 28 'lessons', access to 3 cars and 1 full track. Its also not too easy controlling the car with such realistic driving physics so its annoyingly fun. There is an on-line option included with the demo so trials-forum server anyone?
