  1. Myself, Chris, Oli and Fred will be leaving Salisbury in my car at around 5:30 so should get there at around 7 See you all tomorrow night
  2. Got 5 B's and 4 C's at GCSE. Went to college and did a ND in Computing, I chose this course for the wrong reasons (I knew loads of other people doing it [Half the course were from my secondary school!] and I decided I didn't have any computer qualifications so I should go for it). I passed the first year and passed the second year. All through college I surfed the internet, played games and did the minimum amount of work to get through the course. The course was meant to be full time but there was lots of free time, in the second year I was only in college 2 1/2 days a week. After finishing college I was completely confused. I didn't even bother applying for Uni and had not idea what I wanted to do with my life. I spent the next year of my life bumming around working part time at a supermarket shelf stacking and did a lot of bike riding. After much pressure from my mum I applied for a full time job at a local office where I still am 3 years later. Its call centre work and I have proggressed loads, I work on the 'Technical Helpdesk' and feel people have respect for my knowledge and skills. I'm just not feeling too challenged by the job and have definitely hit a brick wall. On a positive note I am happy with life outside work. I make the most of the 2 days a week I don't work, have a good social life, go rock climbing, ride XC and trials etc... Before Christmas I went to the Middle East for 3 weeks and saw loads of amazing stuff most people are never going to see! Next month I am going to New York for a week which will be fun. After next month I have no definite plans but as long as I am saving money and having fun outside of work I am not worried!
  3. Definitely nothing to do with biking: Sorry Rich
  4. Myself and Chris are looking for fuel sharers to make the trip as cheap as possible, if your up for it I think the plan is to leave Salisbury when I finish work on Thursday then drive back afterwards because I have work the following day...
  5. Should come along to this with Chris. I cant wait to see the Ryan Leech trail section in Kranked 6!!! Oh and the Chris Akrigg section on Earthed 4!!!

    Koxx Camp 07

Fontainelue is within 20 miles of Buthiers! Me, Tim Stedman, Fat Mike, Cap and Matt Burrows went there in the Pashley Wagon last year for a walk around one night, I have forgotten why we did though, I think we were just bored. Fatmike did some projectile vomiting at the side of the road on the way
  7. Not sure if you still are or not, but I remember when you were running Mavic D521 rims sprayed black with Atomlab stickers on them to 'keep the sponsors happy'
  8. Who gives a shit? Just get out on a bike and have fun!
  9. Did the card not come with a DVI to analogue adaptor?

Im not going this year. I am just posting to back up Dave and confirm how good Buthiers is! Even though there were loads of riders, you could all seperate into groups and end up not seeing each other for the whole day, it was massive! If I ever go again I wouldnt even bother with going on the Paris ride, there is so much stuff to ride at Buthiers!
  11. This isnt trials related, I am enjoying XC/Freeride much more than trials so: Canada for the Northshore trails and New Zealand because the trails are meant to be awesome (and it looks like a great country to visit anyway!)
  12. ACU for Hampshire Make sure you send the form to the ACU via Terry so he can put a club stamp on the form. I havent sent off my form either yet, I am currently lacking any motivation to get the trials bike out and am even considering not bothering to enter any comps this year
  13. Download it through bittorrent from finalgear.com
  14. For XC V12's would be a better selection than V8's. V12's have much nicer bearings that the V8's and are a hell of a lot easier to service! I run V12's on my XC/Freeride bike and love them
  15. Fair enough your first post was an opinion, but maybe you could have worded it in a more adult constructive manner? I dislike loads of music but I dont go spouting off on a public forum about it! If you dont have something nice to say dont say it at all? As Raub has already asked, could you explain your reasonings in more detail please...
  16. Being reallistic here Andy but please dont take this the wrong way as its a constructive one. Trials is a relatively small sport, Im sure sitting in a warehouse every day with no one turning up due to work commitments, school etc... will drive you crazy after a while. Opening at the weekends would make sence, as would some evenings and obviously school holidays, but there is no way you could make a full time thing of an indoor trials park! £8000-£15000 is a shit load of money for you to risk on a dedicated indoor trials park. You would really have broaden the activities provided to have any chance of it surviving! (Examples: Climbing Wall, Go-Karting, skate park, indoor paintball? etc.....) A recent real life example for you: Just outside Salisbury is Wessex Raceway one of the biggest indoor Karting tracks in the UK. Very speciallist and was stupidly expensive to set up! (Dad knew the bloke that started it and has since sold it to someone else) but a sport that is much bigger than trials. After the busy opening period they always seemed quiet the few times I have been, but were busy the time I went to a corporate event. Its been going for a good 5 years, so cant be failing as a business, but very recently they have added Virtual Warfare Laser Combat to the activities they run. There is a posability they had to diversify because having a facility dedicated to such a speciallist sport was not working out, or maybe it was working and they wanted to expand and have a new challenge? Just an example for you anyway!
  17. The 2005 661 Raji's I use have a really nice thin palm on them LINK They are not too warm though as they have a mesh backing, there are other heavy duty 661 gloves on the market that should be warmer which have the same palm though so have a look for them!
  18. RATM > Audioslave As you can see from my current avatar Im a bit of a RATM fan Just had a quick look around the net and currently it looks like they are only reforming for a one off show, I hope they do more shows elsewhere though! Anyone up for a trip to LA? HAHA
  19. Im an average female then I had exactly 50 hours of lessons before I took my test and passed first time. Im glad that people are mentioning the fact they had previous road experience or drove with parent supervision etc... rather than just quoting the lessons, at a guess most of the people quoting low figures also had other driving experience outside of lessons. So far only one accident that involved just me, a long sweeping bend and loosing the back end, I didnt go through the insurance so am close to my 3rd year of 'no claims'
  20. Join the club! Im 21, still live at home, have worked in an office for 3 years and still have no clue what I want to do with my life
  21. That happened to my E2 within a month of buying it, I didnt even have any crashes in that month. I just used super glue and electrical tape to fix. This was over 2 years ago though.
  22. It would be so much simpler if Calshot was closer to us, its a 60 mile round trip to go there! But there are 3 of us planning to car share whenever we go so its not too bad. I was amazed with Calshot! There is a cycle velodrome, climbing walls and a dry ski slope all inside a big hanger! You can also do loads of water sports outside because the hanger is located on a spit which means an area of sheltered water. Within the next couple of months they are adding loads of new climbing wall so its not like I am gonna be limited for a very long time! A trials riders meet up would be amusing...
  23. Did the introduction to climbing course today. Learnt about harness', knots to connect the rope to the harness (Just a figure of eight), belaying techniques and also got a load of advice about the equipment we should buy if we take climbing further. Had an awesome time! Also got some bouldering done aswell which was loads of fun! Will be going back to Calshot for an evening session this week to take the assesment and pay £3 to join for the year. The assesment just involves proving I know how to wear a harness, tie knots, belay safely etc... aswell as answer some common sence questions. It doesnt sound like it costs much to hire equipment but if I do go once a week like I plan to Im sure I will end up buying some of my own equipment! Mr Marshal, we will have to meet for a climbing session soon!

    Top 40

I was wondering why he kept playing that song while I was getting up in the morning. I set my alarm for 8:15 so I get woken up by Celebrity Tarzan every morning
