A well set up seat will help much more than chamois lined shorts! I have not run padded shorts for years now. Mike, before buying a new saddle play around with angles and positioning first, even a good saddle will feel uncomfortable if you have not spent time setting it up! Also what you need to realise is its called a saddle for a reason, you are not meant to use it like a seat Sheldon Browns guide to saddles

Craig, is that the Cotic that you were planning on getting? It looks very tidy I swear by Sun rims, I have EQ27's on my Commencal and the EQ31's on my Giant. I know I'm only a lightweight rider but I have given both bikes a good thrashing and the rims have held up nicely. For that bike the Sun EQ27's should be ideal EDIT: Dammit they don't come in 36h...

Does your frame have ISCG tabs? If you're mounting the guide via a BB adaptor get an ISCG Old guide because its a closer fit to the BB so its much neater Photos of my rebuilt Commencal to follow when I get the chance to clean it and take some photos. I'm still contemplating replacing my Fox Float forks with a set of U-Turn Sektor's but part of me wants to save the cash

If you have already ordered the chain device ignore me but I recently fitted a Superstar Plasma Chain Device and for £35 I am extremely impressed! Gears are very much personal preference, I run a Shimano XT Shadow mech with XT shifter on the XC bike, and a SRAM X9 mech with X7 shifter on the DH bike. The SRAM certainly feels a lot more positive however with a full gear outer the XT certainly shifts nicely as well. I would probably go for an SLX mech rather than the X5 or the Deore, whatever you choose run a full gear outer!

Epic fail with the unlocked task bar, language tool bar and the desktop search for your empty desktop. Oh and while I'm at it you're using IE I have been rocking the Lifecycles wallpaper of Brandon Semenuk jumping in the corn field for ages, download the wallpaper here

Pedals are pretty straight forward to service. If the pedals have open bearings you can follow these instructions which show how to service a DMR V8 pedal. I know your pedals are different but most open bearing pedals will use a similar system. If the bearings are knackered you will be able to buy replacement bearings from any decent bike shop for a few quid. If the pedals run sealed bearings (Like the Wellgo MG1 and DMR V12 pedals) servicing is even easier, you just need to remove the end cap from the pedal, undo a lock nut and then slide the pedal off the axle. You can then clean and re-grease the axle and reassemble the pedal. With both types of pedals remember that the left hand pedal might have an opposite thread on the lock nut!

To be fair by saying "Circumstances have now changed and I won't actually be able to stay at Park Village" makes it sound like you are asking to cancel...

Good for you but Tom has an On-One 456, not a DMR, so how is your post relevant to this thread?

Why are they dead accounts? How are new members meant to get voted for validation when most full members avoid NMC like the plague? -
If you do get Pikes you want to be looking at the 454's which have a lighter steerer and crown, you can get them in either dual air or coil uturn (uturn is an external system to easily adjust the travel although to be honest you will probably set the travel and leave it). A 20mm front axle will be noticeably stiffer than a QR however it is not possible to convert your Hope XC hub to 20mm so you would need to purchase a Pro2 or similar and sort out a wheel build. Tom, I have replied to your PM

And you also realise that there has to be decent new members who have signed up and then only posted a few times and have remained unnoticed, then there will be other people that have signed up and not bothered posting at all because they see that generally the promotion from pre members to members is slow... Yes having the new members like it is at the moment keeps the forum 'tidy' but it also means there are hardly any new people posting on the forum. There are currently 16,000 pre members, hardly any of them are active and I would say that since new members chat started hardly anyone has been promoted to members (In comparison to the 16,000 that have joined). Tom, out of interest do you actually know how many people have been moved from pre members to full members? A change needs to happen, the forum has become stale and boring with the same old groups of mates posting. From an outsiders point of view this forum must be similar to those strange village pubs that are full of locals! -
Lots of riding and might get back into climbing as well. I'm going to Morzine riding DH for 2 weeks in July and cannot wait for the biking, beer and Euro trash nightclubs!

That, or 2nd hand Pikes. If you want a pair of 2008 Fox Float RL forks with QR I will possibly be getting rid of mine soon and upgrading to Sektors. The Floats are awesome forks but I want a 20mm Axle to stiffen up the front of my bike...

Maybe that's because you're in Norwich which isn't in the BBC South region? -

BBC1 Inside Out South - "Jon Cuthill Investigates the state of the regions roads and asks whether pricey PFI's like Portsmouth's are the answer, or are they a blank cheque to financial ruin?" I think they were just at Spice Island with the Spinnaker Tower in the background but no riders, there was someone sat down in the background wearing a BMX lid though... -
Surely if they rang your home phone they would be able to find out where that landline is located and get your current address pretty easily?
