  1. The decision was given to the riders by Dave as to whether or not they wanted to ride, the sections were deemed too dangerous to ride in those conditions. There was no snow when we left Danny's in the morning, an no snow when we got back there. Dave put a lot of work into this event, (time and effort) its not his fault that the weather turned against him.
  2. I have! Thats why my bike was up for sale. When shaun_smith100@hotmail.com mailed me i did reply an give him my address an phone number, not sure if he got the mail or not. Anyway my number is 07801 644359 As said before I am at Danny Butlers this weekend, but will be contactable. Cheers
  3. DAVE is doing a thankless job, taking the contols of the ymsa cyclo side and trying to do a few new things, so give him time and bare with it and you will see a lot happen, dont expect to much too early in the past some of the " organisers " have been it the sport for their own gains, but Dave is looking to promote the sport and help bring it to a wider audience
  4. Danny Butler. Very consistant. Even in practise when going for big/tech stuff.
  5. Hi Thanks for the interest guys, sorry I couldnt answer the questions before the event. You would not need insurance as that is covered by the £5 fee. (As it is held at the scouts park they cover the insurance) The first event was a success. There were quite a lot of new riders there, some begginers and some that hadnt done any natural riding before. There were two main areas, the pallet area near the entrance and a natural area just a little way from that in the woods. The riders were split into groups so that each rider would get better coaching for their ability. Danny and Ash Butler were there helping out and giving advice. This event will be run every couple of weeks, so if you want to attend the next one then please contact www.thriftwood.org.uk or call 01277 212784 or 01277 210284 and get your name down!
  6. There will be a training day for all new riders an beginners, aged 9-18yrs, on Sat 14th January at Thriftwood Scout park, starting at 1pm till around 4pm (or when the light goes, which ever is first) Assistance will be from experienced riders and organisers. This is open to boys and girls. You can bring your own bike, or there will be some available to use. Helmets are compulsory, again there will be some available if you dont have your own. Also make sure you have long trousers. Cost is £5 for the afternoon. For more info see www.thriftwood.org.uk or call 01277 212784 or 01277 210284 So if you or anyone you know would like some help getting started then this is the best way. Please remember this is for new riders and beginners, this is not a training session for expert/elite riders, unless you want to help teach.

Well done again, look forward to havin a proper go on it sometime.

    Nice pics there Chris.
  12. This video is what happens when you mix mentos an cola! (Y) :D Notice that they use different brands of cola as well!
  13. This may or may not help but ask John Evans (Stuntman_Stan) I know he works as a structural engineer or somethin like that.
  14. Looks to me to be very similar to the CODA cranks Mr Ashton used to have on his Cannondales. External bearings. I may be wrong though
  15. Mega Props to Waynio, top guy. Not really chatted to him much before or seen him ride, but he was trying EVERYTHING. Only problem was he was let down by Chris who didnt even turn up on the last day! Props also to Phil (stand in for CLS) who also went for everything an tried his hardest. One section on the first day Neil had used up all bar 50sec of the 4.30 time limit, leaving Phil to try do the whole section in 50sec!!!!!! An he went like stink to try make it through, running out of time about 15ft from the end! From talking to Cesar, Dani, Walter, Thomas an the swiss guys, they seemed to really enjoy it, all the sections an the format. Cesar was taking photos so he could build stuff when he got home!! :P
  16. Dixie horn all the way! (Y) need to get one of them! Where did he get it from? Do you know?
  17. Have just found this video  (Y)
  18. It is old, but it was me that posted it before. Was a good few months ago though. Always good to keep people reminded of these things, then we can see who tries them out and what happens  Edit: was me in June!
  19. As always, nice pics Chris. Good to see you got my good side in the background of one of the Danny B photos!!!! :P lol Your camera always makes me look :cough : great!!! :cough : (Y)
  20. Will vary hugely, depending on the type of tyre (road, off-road eg, 4x4) But yeah the legal minimum is 1.6mm. I would probly go with Adam, or say a bit more, maybe 10mm.

    Uci Worlds

If you have a British UCI licence then you can enter any UCI event worldwide. You will have to contact each countries UCI organisation to get entry forms, eg FFC in France, or BC in the UK. The cost of the licence is steep (compared to BIU) but the insurance you get with it is second to none! Remember UCI run ALL cycle events at the Olympics as well! If you have a UCI licence and you are on the e-mail list at British Cycling, then you should get an e-mail asking you if you want to enter the next event. I know I got one for the Madrid event!!!! lol For the Worlds, there is usually a team manager who will help BC sort out who is riding etc. Best bet is contact British Cycling, and apply for a racing licence. BRITISH CYCLING'S WEBSITE
  22. Truely a comedy great. None of the current stand up or sketch comics come close. Great, great man. Will be missed. (Y) RIP
  23. Yeah you are right, But in BIU they dont penalise you if your BB doesnt make the gate. Meaning you can bridge over the tape on a tight corner, but in UCI that isnt allowed. In UCI THREE points must make every gate, the front axle, BB and rear axle. If you front axle goes over the tape (like Aust said) even if it doesnt touch the ground you are deemed to be out the section. Mark, FFS stop jumping down my throat at any given opportunity. I'm not taking anything away from neil or craig, but there is a huge difference between BIU an UCI, an a huge difference between comp an street. I'm sure they will do well, but they are up against riders who practise all the time without using bash, not just 'oh I cant use it today but I'l still win!'
  24. Dan an Ben doing their 'thing' with Ash on the commentary! Us southerners will need subtitles for Ash, :bunny: but hey should be good to see trials on TV! Program will be shown at 6.30pm on CBBC then again on Weds at 5pm on BBC
  25. Also to add to the team list: Roger Keller and Christian Schneider, from Monty Swiss
