  1. Oh S***t....no one uses gears now....or seats! And they all have these stupid looking bars............AAAARGHH Its a specialized...bought in the days when there were no trials frames and you had to buy a small mountain bike! Will one of these do then? Recommend a set of HS33 pads?
  2. Hi everyone, Not even been on my bike in about 4 1/2 years but me and my mate were talking about when we used to ride and have so much fun and decided to have another go.....problem is are bikes were a few years old then so now they're museum pieces. Trials has moved on and I got left behind!....theres so much more trials stuff and new brands now Im totally lost so need advice on some parts (help here really appreciated). Brake pads. - I've got the old yellow HS33's with standard black pads. I want something that will still work in the wet but not burn out in a few weeks. I find the back one grippy enough but the front one lacks any 'feel' - there used to be just black magura (rubbish) or red magura (better), now theres loads so what do I get? Shifter/rear mech/cassette. rear mech and shifter dont do anything so need to replace but haven't got a clue. About the time I stopped riding people only just started using road mechs and cassettes. For those old enough to know what this is - its a shimano 'silent clutch' rear hub (hope one always broke!) (crap pick up but at the time it was the only thing we would find that didnt slip or break)...so what cassette/mech/shifter should I get on a reasonable budget? I've seen a 6 speed trials cassette and trials mech on TartyBikes - any good? Can I just use any shifter with these? Im not bothered about how many gears (I think its a stardard mountain bike XT cassette on there now) just dunno what to get? So, anyway...try not to laugh at me too much, Im trying to get up to speed! Really need some advice what to buy (and any recommendations on what shops/links)......if it goes well I'll look at frames etc but at the mo just lookin forward to riding again!
